  1. 9.30am I am going to try and get there around 9 but I'm dubious as to what time I'll actually get there as I am terrible driving somewhere new - I've been to CT once before but I wasn't the one driving and it was ages ago ha ha yeah, i know what you mean. I'll try for 9 as well. What time does it finish? Im thinking of maybe staying the night somewhere down there and going to a dog friendly beach (if i can find any)

  12. Erny, she is on a lead and the target WAS in a container, until she split it open. I think because i had just finish training her to get teh beer out of the fridge she's in the thinking that everything has to be grabbed....i guess. Thanks erny, i'll jsut have to try and settle her down and try again.

  14. Hi guys, i still dont know who to edit this myself. If someone doesn't mind doing it for me a would be very grateful. I just want this photo on a white background so i can put it on a lost poster. My sisters dog went missing yesterday around a school. Many thanks in advance
  15. No, she doesn’t have any concept of sniffing yet. She’s trying anything to try and get that click. It was her first session. My set up was one box with the lid on with the target container on the top. I was walking her up to it and as soon as she looked at it or sniffed I asked for a sit then click and treated. Well, that was the idea anyway. There’s some great other ideas put forward here I think I’ll have to give them a go. Thanks guys 
  16. I need the trusty help of dolers again. I’m now starting my next assessment of basic scent detection. After today’s dismal attempts at teaching Lucy the basics, I don’t hold much hope. So I’m getting her to sit at an empty box the printer paper with a container on top that’s holding mixed herbs (the target). She’s grabbing the target and spilt the contents (so moved to a new area) and mouthing the boxes and tugging at her lead and barking and just making a big mess of everything…… So I put the target in the box with the lid off – nope still grabs it before I have a chance to stop her. Put the lid on so hiding the target – so now she thinks it’s a big game called World War 4 Annihilation of Boxes. I don’t know what to do, I was under the impression that no punishment should be given to scent detection dogs. She’s just so over the top (which will be good when I get the problems under control).
  17. that's one seriously cute pup look at those wrinkles
  18. Sorry for your loss. You wrote that beautifully, brought tears to my eyes. My heart goes out to your and your family.
  19. the cord itself is very strong, have some lying around everywhere here from dad's old chute we cut the cords off. Its 20 years old and still strong as, i would have no hope in breaking it and even cutting it is a bit hard.
  20. i feed beef mince plus other things and tried roo instead of the beef once and my dog was very very itchy. I thought it might have been the roo so haven't used it again
  21. sorry i cant help you but best of luck with getting your pup right.
  22. My friend has asked me to clip their dog (nothing fancy, i'm no professional) just to make the coat shorter and neater but not sure on what size blade to use. Done a couple of little SWF's ages ago but I cant remember what i used. Thanks
  23. Last week my dog hurt herself jumping out of the ute. That night she didnt bare any weight on it. The next day she did a little bit. Took her to the vet he reckons she sprained her foot. Five days later she's back to normal. Is she getting better by the day? If so I wouldn't worry much about fully crating her, just restrict romping. I didn't give mine any rimydl, no point, she would have just run around more. Good luck with it
