my dog wont even eat chum or pal. she'd rather go hungry
-
That sounds a bit strange to me???, needs a little more clarification what the dog is doing in what circumstances???. My GSD male just over 2 years old and entire, is from a bloodline of hard temperaments solid nerve with high civil aggression that is required in protection work, but with his family and friend base is a big softy, absolutely not the slightest hint of handler aggression even in full defence drive, I could put my hand in his mouth, take food from him, man handle him with totally loyalty in that regard. Handler/family aggression in a GSD is not a common trait and is major reason why GSD's are better than other breeds in working roles that require aggression and the ability to attack/defend for their owner/handler devotion and trust. Perhaps a training issue where the dog believes he is the leader of the household pack growling to ascert his aurthority??? edited to acually add something. This is what i was thinking.

may i ask why you dont reccomend it?(genuine question) as the dog frontline contains less % then the cat active ingredient and the same % as the other active ingredient. ETA: i have been doing this for two years up until four months ago as we dont have fleas anymore
-
but some are ok to put on, like frontline and advantage. But, i agree, people should learn to read because i'll vouch they dont know that even some types of dog ones can be used on cats (in correct quantities that is) What are the symtpoms for cats that are dosed wrongly? poor little mite

i suggested this and also suggested not treating aggression with aggression because she told me she slapped him across the nose for it. She is a bit worried about his behaviour. When i suggested the desexing part she said not yet because they want to breed a litter from him first and get a pup. I told her that aggressivness can be hereditary and that she would be passing that on. Dont think that sunk in.

My friend made a comment today saying that her 2 1/2yr old GSD male entire has been acting strange and growling for apparently no reason. For example, the dog was on his bed (no crate) and got and and rubbed up against her and then started growling. I ask does he ever growl around food and toys and she said no. Could this possibly be a dominance issue? The dog is sometimes dog aggressive and the husky (she has two dogs) is always keeping eye out for the GSD because he thinks he's going to get a hiding from the GSD. She takes the GSD to dog obedience every week but the trainer couldn't help her.

Vocal Dog - How Do You Get Them To Stop
WildatHeart replied to Tilly's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Give him something else to carry?? One reason I didn't ever consider a GSD as a pet was that ones I worked with were such vocal critters Mines either broken or i'm lucky. I've never heard her whinge the whole time i've heard and she's two years old. Lucky me -
that's great news!

Help Me Get Weight On My Dog
WildatHeart replied to WildatHeart's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks for the replies. I might increase the calorie content like a few have said, poodlefan and someone else. I would like her a tad fatter, not much, but some days she looks 'tucked up' in a way. -

Help Me Get Weight On My Dog
WildatHeart replied to WildatHeart's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks fifi, she never has dry flaky skin or coat and her poos are always small or hard. The only time she did have the above (not yelloey poos though) is when she was on supercoat. -

Help Me Get Weight On My Dog
WildatHeart replied to WildatHeart's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Lots of people have suggested this, she only just barely eats what i give her now. Hence why i dont give her more, she just wont eat it. I was giving her three cups of dry plus more meat but it just all went to waste. The amount i'm giving her is what is would eat every day of that, if that. Thats a good idea, i'll start with the carbs thanks. I had the impression pasta wasnt good because it was just a filler, but i guess in her case it will do her good. :D -
Help! My 4mo's Puppy Swallowed 2 Lamb Ribs!
WildatHeart replied to ww_1416's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'm not sure if thats serious or not cause i dont know have hard lamb ribs are but just keep an eye out for discomfort, drooling, panting. If this starts i'd go straight to the vet. -
My dog is a two year old GSD. She's 29kg. I can feel her ribs and she looks a tad skinny. She gets per day: - 900gm raw of one chicken carcass, with beef mince and chicken wings (and liver, heart, etc chopped now and again, she doesnt eat it much) - one cup (250ml size) royal canin kibble Daily activity that i know of is sleeping with the old run to chase the birds off her breakfast plus a 30mins walk in the mornings. She has always been a skinny dog. She is wormed every three months.

Well I've had my first attempt tonight. After flicking through the manual again because I couldn't get the shutter to stay open even though it was on 20. It must have been .2 or something. Anyway, first couple had lots of noise, realising that after extensively cleaning my laptop screen
-
wow thats cool!! i saw four to begin with then got the three and it looks very 3D, very clever
-
thats a great idea roxy and axle! Looks so cool

I was using frontline and suspected this so i rang the company and asked. OF course, they assured me that fleas dont and they sent out a free pack to keep me happy, well i still wasnt happy, no point in using something that doesn't work.

Supercoat Puppy Vs Bonnie Puppy
WildatHeart replied to ButerflyGirl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Have used supercoat and i had an itchy dry dull dog with huge sloppy poos. -
My sister has adopted a pup from some her neighbour as they were taking the litter to the pound. At the vet checked/vacc they picked up a heart murmor. They said it wont effect the pup now but it might later on. Whats some of the things she can do the help prolong the pups life? Is it serious if they have found it at such a young age? How can/will the murmor affect the dog now and later? Its a mixed x bull mastiff. Thanks
