  1. Hey guys! SG - I know what your news is!! ;) Can't wait!!! Some pics from today, as usual we were fashionably late ;) So I missed the pointers and a few others!! (sorry!!)
  2. Yes - its $15 per pooch - officially the time is from 10 to 2.30 but it's not a problem if you want to stay back - as long as the runs are free ;) Looking forward to tomorrow - camera is charged & dogs are rearing for zoomies!
  3. Weather for Sunday is looking good Kepalaites Sunday Mostly sunny Min: 14°C Max: 23°C :D
  4. I always tell people that finding the 'right' breeder for you is as important as finding your 'right' breed. My breeders are good friends and mentors, and I could not ask for any better support. I try to do the same with the owners of my own puppies - its not just a responsibility, but a pleasure as well!
  5. very far. dog is in kazakhstan Goodness - overseas?
  6. Where are you Lilli? How many hours from Melbourne?
  7. Sorry - if convulsions have started you need to get to a vet somehow as charcoal and vomiting are not going to do the job. It's also important to avoid loud noises or unnecessary handling because anything like that can trigger a seizure. My advice would be to cover your dog with a coat or blanket and drive to the emergency clinic.
  8. Big Congrats Pip!! Hope you can make it ChiggenWingz
  9. Hey Whitka- If you come to shows and hook up with people from DOL, I'm sure the opportunity to handle will come up . If you ever want to have a go at handling let me know - although I will say that my lot are no where near as well behaved as Spikespuppy's are! LOL (but thats ok - a bit of a challenge is one of the reasons I love my breed!)
  10. You certainly can The list is below, but looking at it we could do with a green salad or maybe another quiche or similar?

  12. Hey Kepalaites! For those looking for food ideas we could use bread rolls/bread, (+ butter/marge) maybe green salad, and anything else 'picnic' like :D - we could probably use some more cups, cutlery and plates too (I have some but stocks are low after Christmas!) LOL I'll bring some little lamington cup cakes for something sweet
  13. LOL Smart puppy What Sandra said is 100% on the money. I give exactly the same advice to my puppy people when they call worried about their puppy not eating
  14. while I applaud the sentiment, this is not a no-kill shelter. Temperament testing is a difficult thing - how an animal reacts in that environment can be seen as aggressive when they are really acting in fear. And the label of a dangerous breed - and how this is determined - is contentious, to say the least.
  15. Sadly, I'm still at the stage where people bitch behind my back. One day I'll be good enough that they will actually be rude to me in person! :D
  16. I use it still but you have to use it correctly - make sure that you get skin contact, between the shoulder blades, and that the dog stays completely dry for 24hrs. You also need to be using the right dosage for the right weight - its better to be a little over than under. I use it because when I show I don't need to worry about it being affected by baths and grooming products, like the other spot on's do. Oh, and the best results I've had are with a little bit of garlic in the chook mince that I feed my lot - the garlic seems to deter to fleas. Don't overdo it though!
  17. There is a good chance that I'll have Ms 11, but don't count on her for human company, unless it involves discussions on Pokemon and Nintendo DS games.....! No chance of that kind of discussion occurring with my littlies - they're only 3.5 and 1.5 lol. Do you know if the area is at all kiddie friendly? Mr 3 will happily play with a ball or cruise around on his bike but miss 1 has just entered the wandering phase. Hmm, we could always put them in a run! LOL Its pretty good, but the obvious things - like the car park (and there is a rather steep hill that sort of drops away from the edge of the carpark) are not fenced off once you are outside the runs. However, what we usually do is just stay in the runs with the dogs - they are quite big - and just come out for lunch. we could always crate miss 1.5 with the puppies LOL
  18. I won't show a bitch in season. I appreciate it when others do the same.

  20. Yay Charolotte!!! Looking forward to seeing our fav goldie again soon!!!
  21. My girl whelped in a spare room, but I slept in there. She was a maiden, so I stayed a bit longer to make sure she was getting it right. Once she got the hang of it she was a great mum
