I actually listened to it over and over with high-quality headphones. If this is anything like Japanese movies, I'm in trouble... Make sure you check in tomorrow so we know that nothing got you during the night and whatever you do, don't copy it and forward it on to anyone!! Check in in 7 days. I officially have no idea what's happening now  In the move The Ring anyone who views a creepy video tape dies within 7 days of watching it, hence the advice not to forward your YouTube clip to anyone and to check in in 7 days so we know Aidan is still breathing. Oh crap guys, sorry to have killed everyone that you know ... Hey did anyone get any interesting responses or feedback from sharing with your friends? (who may or may not now be dead within 7 days)

You know you want to hear it Pebbles... I hope so too Katdogs. I know, how brave was my little girl? :) Cheers Ness ...lol I've updated the first post to let everyone know the developments HA, it was a man. So creepy. The doggy door can't be blocked as I have special needs dogs here including blind ones. It's a bit of an art teaching a blind dog to use a doggy door and if it gets blocked or they can't get through it's very hard to retrain them to trust using it again. Shall be having a bit more of a listen later today SK and see what else I can pick up. The dictaphone itself is clearer to hear than the video.

No Kirislin, I moved just over a year ago. Once my former neighbour was safe and being looked after I was able to move on. She doesn't know where I am. All good tlc. My poor dogs didn't get much sleep though, I kept grabbing them and hugging them every five minutes. Hugs were given all through the night Kadbury, I'll add another on for you today. I'm taking the recording to play for the police today and will also make an incident report. I don't know what the thumping thing is Aussie, maybe he was trying to get his shoulders through the doggy door? The door would have made a noise if he'd done that. I'll have to have a bit more of a proper listen later. Good call. No, I moved a year ago SnT. However (just my luck), the lady I did the Housing Trust swap with turned out to be a rather unbalanced alcoholic. She caused a few problems especially in the beginning, the last episode was a few months ago when she turned up here drunk as a skunk. I was out but my dad was here looking after the dogs, thank god. I reported that one to the police and let her know that every episode would now be reported and hadn't heard anything since. I have a feeling this particular situation was random - I don't know why, I think they came in because it looked like I wasn't home. If it was anything to do with the crazy lady, they would have known that the dogs were here and the woman on the tape wouldn't have asked if there was anything scary in there. Will probably never know though... I know Rev Jo, it's all too weird and creepy and I don't know what to make of it. How lovely of you Kadbury :) I had a look at them and for that price I will say yes. That's very very nice of you, thank you .

It's definitely a man Caz. I've edited the first post to explain what we've discovered. I know right!?! I would have had NO idea that anything like this had happened. It could have happened before for all I know. The universe always finds a way to look out for me, but geeze universe, a less creepy and confusing heads-up about this one would have been appreciated  Daytime is much better to listen to it Stans mum. Thanks for the offer :) I'm still having a bit of trouble actually getting my head around what happened TJ. So damn bizarre! But yes, my poor, poor dogs, what they went through and I didn't even know We've got to the bottom of what happened FF, but that still leaves a heck of a lot of unanswered questions. I don't walk my dogs around here because of that exact reason, I don't want to draw attention to myself or the dogs.

 I was just thinking of something similar, but I was going to suggest writing F@#k off loser. I think your suggestion is better. Both sound pretty good :) It would be fun to hide your car so he thinks you're out and just quietly sit by the doggy door with baseball bat in hand. When his big ugly head pokes through....... Whumph!!!!! he'll be even uglier. Disclaimer just kidding, I dont condone taking the law into your own hands, it's just fun thinking of scenarios. That was close to my fun scenario Kirislin. In mine I'm inside with the bat when his head comes through. All good Pers. Hope you were okay too. xx Cheers Bianca. I'm going to take the dictaphone with me and freak everyone out at the police station. I'll have a chat to the neighbours today. There's only room for one car under the carport but I'll be closing and locking those gates from now on. I was just thinking of something similar, but I was going to suggest writing F@#k off loser. I think your suggestion is better. Or answering their question ... "yes, there is something scary in there..." And see if that freaks them out!

Yes, we've tried the collars Blackdog. Unfortunately if she can't get to her legs she goes for her tail or drags her bottom. It's all very creepy WnH. I'm hoping to save up enough for a couple of cameras and will be making a police report today - while my friend stays here and dog-sits for me. ..sounds ok.. but I worry about what she then does , with all that compulsion and energy still happening ..but not able to release it in that way ..... That's exactly right Persephone, she finds another outlet. Thanks Pirate, I've heard good things about hemp products. Daisy's not itchy though, her issues are behaviour-based. Will be taking my recorder and freaking them all out at the police station today FM.
-
Something rather disturbing has contributed to Daisy's increase in behaviours in the past couple of days. The reason I posted today was because for two days she seemed much worse and I was getting worried. I posted another thread in general today about a noise on a tape recorder that I couldn't identify. To save you reading the pages and pages of posts, the short story is that I had a tape recorder going while I was out to make sure that the dogs weren't barking while I was away from the house. There was an absolutely horrible noise on the recording which came just after the sound of all the dogs apparently freaking out and barking and howling. After much investigation and many people listening and replaying the tape over and over, it turns out that at least one person came into my backyard on Friday afternoon, a man put his head through the doggy door and growled very long and loudly at the dogs, basically scaring them into terrified silence. We know it was a man, partly because of the sound of the growl and also because he whispers afterwards (still not sure what he was saying but working on it). It's all very horrible and creepy but thank god he didn't hurt the dogs physically or take any of them. I can hear Daisy's bark on the tape still barking at the man even though all the other dogs had become silent and I assume had all run away and hidden somewhere. All 4 kilos of my little Daisy had stayed facing the man who was trying to get in through the doggy door. I'm still in a bit of shock after discovering what actually happened. It also explains the extra wees inside over the next 2 days - not sure who from, but we only usually have maybe one accident a day... Friday night, Saturday and Sunday there were probably about 10 inside accidents over that period of time. I'm here thinking that at least two dogs must have a UTI or something. Just wanted to let you know that we now know that poor Daisy had had much more to deal with over the past couple of days than I ever could have imagined, but at least I know now what was contributing to her behaviours increasing since Friday.

We've done The Beautiful Dog Company (drops and calming spray), Good for You (drops), Rescue Remedy (drops) and SOE Bioremedies (drops specially made for Daisy). I'll have a look at these guys tomorrow, thanks pirate :)

Not exactly a police dog but I did suggest that Justice has a pretty scary growl if needed. :) It might not be such a bad idea. I know how much safer I feel with my big dog around. Yeah, I feel totally safe with my boofer. Whether or not he'd be any use if someone actually broke in remains to be seen (and I'd rather not find out) but I love that he only growls or barks if he genuinely thinks something is amiss, as that means it's pretty rare and makes me pay attention and check it out immediately. Mine bark too ... and then, as we now know, run away and hide ... I actually listened to it over and over with high-quality headphones. If this is anything like Japanese movies, I'm in trouble... Make sure you check in tomorrow so we know that nothing got you during the night and whatever you do, don't copy it and forward it on to anyone!! Check in in 7 days. I officially have no idea what's happening now  That was always my theory too when I had big dogs disintegratus. Although I was living in a slightly better area at that time too. I'm re-thinking pretty much everything after this episode though. Frosty is such a sweety Mrs RB. Looks like I'm getting quite a house full of loaned dogs here  I'll have a look at those links tomorrow. xx

Poor Persephone is beside herself with worry and got Kerri to call me. How gorgeous is that? :) Kerri is dog-sitting tomorrow while I take two of the bubs to the vet. I just had a look and I have your number pinned on my noticeboard! Thanks for the offer, that's really nice of you. xx Just to clarify, Pers messaged me to ask if a possible source for the disturbance had been considered and didn't want to post it in the thread in case it upset you (she knows we're friends). She didn't ask me to call you but yes, she's a total sweetheart as is westiemum. :) Sorry Snook, I got the wrong end of the stick as usual. Thanks for ringing anyway :) Not exactly a police dog but I did suggest that Justice has a pretty scary growl if needed. :) He'd just make me give him massages all night ..lol Not exactly a police dog but I did suggest that Justice has a pretty scary growl if needed. :) It might not be such a bad idea. I know how much safer I feel with my big dog around. Ten little ones equal one or two big ones don't they? After all I still I have around 40-50kg of dogs here

That's lovely of you SnT, if it's something I'm able to use and get set up then I'd be very grateful. With lots of people doing lots of listening and blasting out their eardrums shihtzufan. Just before the first dog barks a woman's voice says something, part of which sounds like 'is there anything scary in there?'. Then there's that horrible growling which many people thought sounded human and a former police detective (hubby of a friend) said he was 100% sure that it was a man's voice. The clincher is just after he does the growling thing, he whispers something. We can't work out what it is yet but it's definitely a man whispering. It seems (god, I hope) that he only got as far as the doggy door and put his head through and growled at the dogs. I did my own experiment with the dictaphone today, dictaphone was recording in the same place and I yelled through the doggy door. The doggy door goes into a passageway and there's a lot of echo there. It sounded like it was right next to the dictaphone. I think we need to fantasize a bit about these things sometimes to take the edge off a bit SG :) I'm okay Labradork, it's so creepy to think that a man came into my back yard and terrorised my dogs, but at least I do know what that awful, horrible noise was now. I know I'm dealing with a piece of crap human rather than the star of the next Paranormal movie. Still makes my skin crawl thinking about him being here though. If I have someone else here, I'll go into 'protection mode' and then I'll have 10 dogs PLUS a person I'll feel the need to look out for. I'm not normal I'm afraid  Took me ages to work out what BB meant tlc ..lol. I'm on a proper plan with the modem thing now. When I moved I'd bought a pre-paid thing that plugs into the computer until I could get a monthly plan organised. Does that make sense? I don't know what anything is called. Yes, the noise was made by a man with his head through the doggy door. See my reply just above in this section. I have stickers on all the windows, doors and fences already. Some of the dogs' behaviours over the past couple of days are making more sense now. Poor babies. He wouldn't fit through the doggy door MUP  We may never know tlc. Sorry Labradork :)
-
That's brilliant Willow! . Funnily enough I have stickers on every window, door and fence that says that the house is protected by some awesome security company. Oh, of course... the idiot can't read!! Would the dogs all be glowing in the dark then RubyBlue? LOL. I still prefer the old and crusty ones Aidan :)
-
Cheers bianca. xx I want first go at the horrible, creepy head poking through the doggy door first though SG. I not sure how much upload it would use as we have a massive amount so no way to tell really but I wouldn't think it would be much, the thing is to use the router YG would need an also connection which she hasn't got. There is no way to hook the cameras I have up to a wireless dongle. Understand. :) All a bit gobbledygook to me girls but thank you anyway. xx I do have a broadband connection plan thingy tlc, is that what you mean?

Dogs here for comfort? Those Fraidycats?? . I don't know if you saw the post, but I did my own test with the dictaphone in the same place and yelled through the doggy door, it was very echoey and very loud. When I played the tape back, it sounded like I was yelling right into it. I think it has effected Daisy . I'd put another post up today about her OCD because she seemed to be a bit worse in the last couple of days. I think this could in some way explain her recent behaviours. Also there have been several wees in the house since Friday (the day it happened). I think they'll all been effected to some degree by this. I don't know enough about it SnT, but it's lovely of you to offer. Perhaps tlc could shed some light on it. Poor Persephone is beside herself with worry and got Kerri to call me. How gorgeous is that? :) Kerri is dog-sitting tomorrow while I take two of the bubs to the vet. I just had a look and I have your number pinned on my noticeboard! Thanks for the offer, that's really nice of you. xx

I'll have a bit of a look on ebay tomorrow Labradork. Come on guys, you really must keep up!! It's a man, a horrible, creepy, arseh0le of a man. There's a woman's voice just before one of the dogs starts barking, then lots of barking as the man obviously approaches the back door. Then he puts his head through the doggy door and does that horrible growl and scares the crap out of the dogs. Then he whispers something. Then nothing. I'm not sure how many pages we're up to now but it's in there somewhere. It will be up for you tomorrow still Sayly, don't listen to it again tonight. I think I can hear it a little bit better directly through the dictaphone. My friend is coming to dog-sit tomorrow while I have to go out and she'll have a bit more of a listen.

Sorry, I keep missing posts ... We really don't know how our dogs will actually react until something happens in real life. What I found interesting is that the dog that keeps barking even though the man is doing that growling thing and scaring all the other dogs, little 4kg special-needs Daisy stands her ground and keeps barking at him. God love her. Very creepy clown Don't be ridiculous, it's clearly manbearpig. No, we'd previously established that it was a teleporting Tasmanian Devil Rev Jo. That seemed the most logical explanation at the time. yes- decidedly unsettling . Hope you're okay Pers. xx That's it exactly SG, the dogs are okay. They wouldn't have seen much through the doggy door as it goes onto a passageway. However, if they had got in they would have been sadly disappointed as I don't have anything anyone would be bothered stealing. To me, my old, crusty, special-needs rescue dogs are the most valuable things here.
-
The dogs are all from here rubiton, there are 10 small dogs all together, 3 are mine and 7 are rescues in care. We've established that it was a man, and all the dogs were understandably freaked out. The dogs are all okay and that's the main thing at the moment moosepup. I may have a meltdown tomorrow though ... I highly doubt it RubyBlue. I live in a pretty average area and if there was some loser walking around the streets looking for a place to get into, they would have seen my driveway gates open and only a 5 ft fence to scale. That fence had a lock on the gate but if someone wanted to get over it I guess they could. I'm actually wondering about a part of the fence that's behind the shed as a possible access point now. I'll have a closer look at that tomorrow. tlc I'm in dog rescue and I use a dictaphone for goodness sake! You think I'd have wifi? Exactly Kayla1, it's all extremely creepy and unsettling but at least I know that someone was here. Sorry about that Blackdogs. I don't particularly want to hear it again either.
-
I don't lock it closed megan, I have several special needs dogs here including blind ones who need things to stay the same as far as access goes. It takes ages to teach a blind dog to use a doggy door and if it's blocked they'd be very reluctant to try it again. Cheers westiemum. The main thing I'll be doing is closing and locking the driveway gates. I will make a report to the police just so it's on file. I have a vet appointment tomorrow for two of the dogs and my awesome friend Kerri is coming to dog-sit the crew while we're gone :) Someone else heard 'be quiet' too but I can't hear that. Is it part of the bit where he's whispering after he growls? I work better alone MUP, if someone was here with me I'd feel like I needed to protect them  . At least I know that the dogs will go crazy if there's anyone around (unfortunately I now also know that they will run away and hide as well) and I have my baseball bat and my phone here. Cheers megan. The bottom line for me is that he didn't hurt or take any of the dogs. Welcome to Crazy Land MaverickMission

In that space there's a woman's voice that says 'is there anything scary in there?' just before the first dog (which was Madeline) barks. It was a man growling and then he whispers something afterward that I can't make out. You're so sweet Pers :) Yep I was really surprised to discover a huge (relatively) Airedale terrier manages to wiggle through my Westie size doggie door. It wouldn't surprise me to find a small human can get through as well. Is making me re-think things here too. I was told that if someone skilled, not overweight, and flexible can get their head through an opening, they can probably get the rest of them through too. I was told this after discovering that the bars on our windows at work were basically useless. Done it myself Aiden, so yes it's do-able. No one who knows me would dare upset my dogs like that Sayly. Most of the dogs here are rescues who've had crappy experiences with humans tlc, so they'd rather run and hide if faced with a loud, growling man. There's definitely a woman's voice but I can't say 100% if its the tv. I can hear her words but I can't hear any other words from the tv.
-
It was a man Aussie3, Im certain now. Yes, I think the dogs became more upset because obviously the first few barks didn't make him go away. Hadn't thought of that one MUP. I always had a lock on the one at my other house but never did it here. I'm not moving Kadbury, I'm waiting with my baseball bat for that arseh0le to poke his head through my doggy door again. Yes Megan there's a doggy door, we now think that he'd at least got his head through the door and growled. I recorded myself doing it and it sounded like it was right next to the dictaphone. I hope to god that that's as far as he got. I'd love to be able to set up something like you've got tlc. Although I'm almost always here and usually only gone for a relatively short time if I'm going shopping or taking one of the dogs to the vet. No they don't howl like that normally. I do recognise who was howling though, it was Teddy who sometimes howls a little bit when I'm getting into the car to go out. He's blind and I hate to think of him so upset Geeze, that sucks Megan. The only keys I have are the ones I have with me when I leave. Unfortunately it's not even anywhere near being in a budget Kirislin. I'm in rescue remember? ;) I agree MUP. Yep I was really surprised to discover a huge (relatively) Airedale terrier manages to wiggle through my Westie size doggie door. It wouldn't surprise me to find a small human can get through as well. Is making me re-think things here too. A few years ago I managed to get myself through a small doggy door to help a neighbour who'd locked her keys inside. Took a while, shoulders and hips were the tricky parts, but I did it. It was about the same size as the one I have here.
-
These dogs are mostly quite timid Pers, and would be easily intimidated or frightened by a person, particularly a man. They would scuttle off to somewhere safe and hide. It sounded unhuman to me too at the time, but then I don't think that arseh0les are proper humans anyway are they? ('scuse language, I'm a little bit frazzled at the moment) Nope... it was an arseh0le He wasn't in the house Mrs RB (Im pretty sure anyway). I just did a recording of myself growling like a twit with my head through the doggy door and the dictaphone in the same place. It sounds like it's VERY close to the dictaphone. Far more likely to have been a Tasmanian Devil than a jet I think Mrs RB.
-
Sorry, I overlooked your post Arcane. The only seizure dog I have here at the moment is Raffi and he's on medication. When he was having the seizures previously he would scream rather than growl, it's definitely not him and none of the other dogs have sounded like that, ever. The tv was on coogie but the only specific words I heard at that particular time was 'Is there anything scary in there?' I couldn't make out any other words from the tv, just general 'tv in another room' noise. I honestly can't be 100% sure on that one Snook. I wouldn't say it was definitely a woman's voice and not the tv, then again I wouldn't say it was definitely the tv. Oooh, I didn't hear the 'be quiet' one Purdie. I had another good listen but didn't catch it. What I did catch was a man whispering!!! I can't make out what he says, its about 5 or 6 syllables, it's just after the growl. I am SO creeped out! Great help you are Katie ..lol. And you'd be right melzawelza ... Imagine *my* surprise Aphelion when I was mucking around on the computer with the tape playing just quietly in the background!
-
It's a 'me' thing Anne. I just like to make sure that the dogs aren't barking or annoying the neighbours if I'm not there. I've done it for years and every now and then it alerts me to a new dog that might be barking while I'm out and I'd had no idea. I have to be very careful with the council, one complaint and I could lose my rescue dogs. I used to have possums at my previous place, noisy buggers they were too GeorgieB. Hadn't heard this kind of a noise from them though. This isn't quite the same noise but its as close as I can find :p Maybe when feeling threatened they might sound more like the one on your tape, who knows  Oh, I remember that possum noise from my last place GeorgieB. Now that did scare the crap out of me the first time I heard it too! It's not a possum though, we're pretty sure its a man growling.
-
I think if someone scared the absolute sh!t out of them then they would shut up Snook. That noise would scare them for sure. I think if it was an animal they'd maybe be a bit quiet after being growled at but would certainly go and see it off as it was running away. If it was a person who frightened them, they'd run and hide. Several of them are already scared of people. Did you hear the woman's voice at all? Nothing else was distorted or stretched on the tape Danois. I think this could definitely be a possibility. I wish. I'm getting a bit skittish now Tibbie Tabbie
-
It is a bit like that ... I had some input from a friend..they said it sounded like what their husky used to do .... We're pretty sure it's a MAN!!! My friend's hubby (ex detective and works on surveillance) has had a really good listen to it. He's positive it's a human voice. I've just had another listen up quite loud. Just before Maddie does the first bark I can hear a voice, it sounds like a woman and part of what I think she says is 'is there anything scary in there?' Then Maddie goes off. I'm not sure if it's on the video but it's on the dictaphone. I can retape it if you can't hear it on the video. What I don't understand (actually one of the many things I currently don't understand at this point) is why it sounds like the loud bark and the growl sound are right next to the dictaphone!! I couldn't hear any noise like someone trying to get through the doggy door (it's pretty small) but it does sound SO close. For the next 10 minutes there's only the sound of the occasional dog nails clicking on the floor. Nothing else. Then the tape runs out. Are we allowed to swear on here???
