If my dogs weren't wearing different coloured shirts I'd have a hard time telling them apart when they're snuggling
-
I'm no help here, but I'd be interested to know if someone else knows the answer. My Sarge snuggles into my arms during the night and he is always there when I wake up in the morning.

7.30 Report Abc To Do Expose On Dd Puppy Farms
yellowgirl replied to lappiemum's topic in General Dog Discussion
The comments on Debra Tranter's website show the high level of disgust and opposition to the BanksiaPark puppy farm, a couple have posted in support of the farm but they haven't gone down well. This following supportive post seems indicative of the level of intelligence of puppy farmers and their supporters... Noice wun Ann. I'm sure BanksiaPark are happy to have you on board. -

Thanks MM, I've added the link to my website An hour documentary would be a brilliant idea. Maybe even a dvd could be made up so that breeders, rescues, shelters, shops that don't sell pets and the general public could distribute them. I am the opposite, I hate seeing puppies in the window as it makes me so sad to see them cooped up there day after day on display ;) and knowing these poor pups have come from questionable breeding practices (i.e. puppyfarmers, BYB's, disreputable breeders) and then wondering what sort of homes these poor pups will end up in as so many are impulse buys ;) That's me too Labsrule That's a great idea! And Steve Austin, what a tool! He's now on my top ten biggest d*ckheads list -

That's a very gross bump Samoyedman! I just had the opportunity to explain about puppy farms to a customer who came in looking for a puppy. She'll be watching tonight too . I wish I'd thought about it earlier... I could have put a sign up about it in the window -

I'll look out for it and hopefully tape it. Does anyone know which day it's on? -
Absolutely! ;) . It's a gorgeous little Australian Terrier and her vet thinks it's probably a grass allergy. She has improved a lot since changing to preservative-free food but still has some of the itchies. If we can't help the itching, next step will be food elimination. I'll pass on your advice to the customer next week ;) .

Yeah!! Bbq in April ;) Maybe the 11th or 18th ? I can fit in with either Great opportunity for new people to come along too ;)
-
Thank you Erny, I was talking about your calendula tea idea with a customer a few days ago. I've printed out your post and will give it to her next week when she comes in ;)

What a disgusting person! . There is quite obviously something wrong with her. If this was on a pet classifieds website, most of them have regulations about the minimum age of puppies being advertised. Maybe that's why it was removed. I would love to have 5 minutes alone with this woman . It's amazing that in this day and age people still think this sort of thing is okay I'm really upset about this . With her sort of mentality it's a pretty safe bet that she's going to do it again. She's obviously lying about the situation. ... Would this be an RSPCA issue?
-
Oohh, poor dear old Jess, she's one of my favourite old girls. Please give her a big cuddle for me. ...oh, hope you're okay too . I still have scars from some of my spectacular dog walking somersaults!

Sounds like you've got it organised now Cassie, but if you need to borrow mine I measured it last night and it's 105cm long, 63 deep and 63 high. It's wire with a removable plastic bottom. Not sure if it's big enough for your fluffies but it's there if you can use it
-
When do you need it? I have a big crate at home and can measure it for you tonight

People think Xbreeds and oodles are acceptable because they are everywhere, and every pet shop, BYBer and puppy farmer is pushing the concept. I think the internet has been one of the biggest influences, it's all too easy to put up information, people read it and think it's okay. And they read it everywhere, all over web sites and puppy mill sites that can make themselves look like legitimate breeders. I posted this link in another thread a few days ago. The enormity of it just overwhelmed me . These are 'recognised breeds' from the American Canine Hybrid Club !!! . We're talking hundreds of Xbreeds! No wonder people think it's normal or cool - this sort of information is everywhere! eta - forgot to post the link. It may take a little while to load http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americancaninehybridclub.htm

Of course you're sad about it, you were personally involved in this awful, traumatic event and if it was my dogs, I would be forever grateful to you for trying to help. Please let your neighbour know that her little Beam has been in the thoughts and prayers of many here. Gosh, I really don't know what I would do. How could you ever trust a dog again after they've done that? I've seen my 4 year old dog razz up my 10 year old dog just because she can, but to kill him? I can't even get my head around it!

Any news on the little dog? Did the police come? Crossing my fingers for the poor little thing

Here's the link to the NSW listings on Pet Rescue. http://www.petrescue.com.au/search/?a=d&am...mp;i=0&pg=1 . There are 933 dogs listed needing homes, maybe there's an older one there that might suit Lucy. (told you I can't be trusted when it comes to adding dogs )
-
Welcome to DOL Christie ;) . Just wanted to say good on you for giving Lucy a loving home, she sounds just lovely, and it seems life is getting better for her day by day . It warms my heart to hear stories like these. I can't comment on whether you should get another dog as I can't even be trusted not to add to my own clan every five minutes ;) . Other DOLers will have more knowledge about it, although it does sound like Lucy is pretty happy as she is. I guess it would depend on the age, temperament, etc of a new addition. How does Lucy get on with other dogs outside the home?
