Members Comp Kcc Park - July 23 Cancelled
Tambaqui replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
There was a good entry from group 1! 1 Bichon, a fair few Cavs, 2 Chinese Crested, 3 Havanese, 2 Lowchen, 1 Maltese, 5 Min Pins, 3 Pugs There maybe more, but that's the rough numbers -
I do have a black book! However to be honest, for some judges I have entered under them again to surprisingly better result than the previous time! Some of these judges were in my black book! Some judges I won't enter again that will put up dogs that dragged around or can't even walk on the lead, been under a few already to be beaten like that! It's really down what I think of the judge, and if they are worth another entry from me :). I do however have a green book for judges who has awarded my dogs highly (whether it's CC or Classes in Group or Specialty Wins).

Yup, just rock up with your dogs, it's $1 to be an Associate Member, and $2 per dogs! I think I read they are taking entries at 6pm, and starts at 7:30 The classes available are 21, 1, 3, 4 and 11! So yes you can enter Champion and Open! :-) -
Members Comp Kcc Park - July 23 Cancelled

Robyn who runs this competition has not made any comments as to if this is cancelled, this is held on the 25th. So far Saturday and Sunday events at KCC has been cancelled, but we probably won't know until Monday at the latest as flooding could receeed and the pavilion could be ok. So unless you hear from Robyn directly either on Facebook (Dogs Victoria Page) or OzShow list, i would assume this is still going ahead :) -

Mine was today as well! All good, at least it secured my day off from work!
-
Oh ok! That's good then, maybe they'll cash it soon or after the show! lol I find most shows cash cheques early (Which I like cause it confirms that I am in the show)! One show last year I did a 3 days show at Maffra, and the Saturday show wasn't cleared at the same time as Friday and Sunday show, I got worried I will miss the entry, but rang to find out if I should send it again, but it was there and the cheque was cleared within the week! lol
-
I thought I ask, can anyone please tell me if your cheque for this show has been cleared or not? Mine hasn't cleared and thought I ask, because I have a feeling my entries didn't get to the sec, but thought I'd ask here first :). Just need to mainly work out if I need to groom Cresties or not :). Thanks!

Good luck with the search!! Have already booked the room last year at one of the places, and was told last year after confirming bookings that they were booked out for this year! When I tried to look around to book last year, many of them told me they were booked out from those who did the shows the year before, when I found a place, and booked a room, by the end of that week, all the rooms were booked! This is why I had to learn the had way because accommodation that allows dogs are so hard to come by, and that everyone booked a year in advance! lol Hope you can find somewhere to stay, but if you can't find anything in Sale or Maffra, try suburbs like Morwell, Traralgon, Rosedale or Bairnsdale which is an hour drive.

Thanks for the scan of the breed numbers! Was going to enter, but decided not to. Have to say.... WOW 17 Pekingese on Sunday!! That would've been good to watch that many, and will be a very nice BOB win for the breed! Good luck to everyone showing! Will look forward to hearing results for Group 1 Please!!

If I had not have had the Min Pin specialties on, I would've taken my dogs to this Members Comp for a bit of fun and socialisation in a heart beat!! Have a great day everyone!!

Definitely curious as well please!! Been wondering what the cost association with importing a Toy Breed to Australia for me keep in mind!

I've done entries where a bunch is sent on time, no issue, but when I recently got a pup, the entry was closed a week or nearly a week and a half late, I sent them a letter inside explaining I already have dogs entered and I recently got the new pup and asked politely with a please if the pup could be included. I waited 2 weeks and got nothing back, so I assumed entries was accepted and then few days before all shows, all of them have accepted my late entry without any issues! I've been lucky enough to have this pup in the show, one of them was the day my pup got Baby in Group! The result would've been different if the entry was rejected! lol So my advise is just send it in, maybe put an apology inside that the entry was late and hope for the best! lol

I am a big fan of this show, and at KCC it's the only show on top of my head where we do two in one day! Would love to see more personally! I am quite happy with the current format, but in saying that though I don't mind waiting around anyway as thats what shows are for, to relax and enjoy your day. It shouldn't be a rush that it's over within a few hours, especially on a beautiful day! However, if I had to pick of the 4 options, I would pick #4.

Well, there is not many toys for the show, so if you want to watch the Italian greyhounds, maybe be at the ringside by 10am, they should be on within that hour, they are on after the Havanese.
-
Someone asked that question on Dogs Victoria Facebook page, and they said its outside!
-
Thanks!! Yes sound about right!! Our group judge had his lunch break just before the pugs, we didn't leave the show til after 5, but we were the last toy exhibitors to leave, and there was still some there after we left the grounds.

Have a such a big brag from Today!! My first Min Pin Clancy had fantastic day!! He is sparingly shown, but went to Pakenham and his second show in Australian Bred Class, he was handled by my mum to the DCC and then he went onto get Best of Breed with me! He was shortlisted to Final 4 Run (Along with Pap who was BIG, Crested was RUIG and Havanese) for the Best in Group by a good friend of ours Noel (He has Lhasa), and then went onto get Australian Bred in Group!! So excited and just elated and over the moon!! My recent edition Crested also went Baby in Group as well today!! First time I took home two fringes for separate Classes in Group!

Warragul And District Kennel And Obedience Club Champ Show
Tambaqui replied to DeerGrif's topic in General Dog Discussion
Got ours yesterday - nice an early. We always go to this show as it is a great ground & a well run show. :D Agreed and one of the few shows with great views of Darnum's landscape! Last year we set up near the fence and the view from our gazebo was just surreal!! Hopefully another great show with fantastic weather!! -
Guess I got very lucky to get one of my late entry in!! I was expecting it to be sent back but to my surprise the cheque was cleared! At least my new addition can have his first show next week, a month overdue!!! Thank you and very much appreciated! I am most time good when it comes to entries, always on time, and spot on with my entries and always double checking before they are sealed up to be posted! There had been times when I ripped open the envelope to double check something, and in the process wasted a stamp for nothing as I didn't miss anything! So paranoid!! I agree, it's not hard to get everything right and double check, but it baffles me how mistakes can still be made! Been showing for 3 years and not one complaint from a Secretary!! I must be doing something right!!

There has been shows where Group 1 with big entries finished before other group with much less entries! I remember one show, Group 1 was finished and note that Group 6, 4 and 3 was still going and Group 2 was finished at the same time!!

Clovelly's Iggy was Baby, and the Maltese was Minor, I'm pretty sure a Pug was Puppy as well. Wendy's Havanese was Junior

I do wear hats and sunglasses in the ring during outdoors show. I'vegot sunburnt badly twice after two show (both times was when my dogs have won classes in group) and my face was red and eventually had blisters I don't show in the sun without a hat sunglasses, and I use sun cream If the judges don't like it, too bad!! I've lost my grandfather a few years ago and he had cancer on his nose, because he spent all his time outdoors gardening, and he wore hats and sun cream and it didn't prevent the cancer. I just rather be safe than sorry in the long run. :)

I have worn a normal t shirts and a vest during the warm weather. I think I should elaborate, it just depends on the shows. As I am a guy, most shows I wear a coloured shirt with vest and a grey pants, and black runners as it is easier and comfortable to wear as oppose to a nice shoes. Normally under International judges and big shows I bring out my suits, but the shirts and all remains the same. I like to mix and match my shirts and tie, so it doesn't get boring or old! I'm even shopping on ebay for more shirt colours, and am looking at green and orange and maybe pink! But as I said, if the weather is warm about 34 and indoors, I won't wear anything longsleeves, as I find it more cooler and comfortable outdoors. However, I have seen some show with sandles and thongs on!!! I will admit to seeing one exhibitor wear a shirt that says "News Flash, I don't care!" (Admittedly it was funny to see!) But as Shaar says below and is right, the judge is being appointed to judge dogs, not what you wear! I personally love my suits and coloured shirt, it makes each show a challenge with matching a tie to the shirt. But unfortunately I have one colour that I have a "don't touch or wear policy" and that is red, and it personally saddens me as I use to do so well in the colour, now every time I wear it, all dogs I take in just get bad luck!
