  1. Thankyou everyone for your support. I'm off to pick her up this morning. Cowanbree - I will definitely be following up with a specialist, thankyou for that advice. Nicole
  2. Thanks Saxonpup. I'm a little teary to say the least. I've had her since a pup and she is my little sweetheart. I've also got a little Kelpie who is wondering at the sudden increase in pats and hugs this afternoon.
  3. Sorry guys but I need to post this some place where people will understand how sad I am right now. I am an inactive poster but the vet has just rung me to tell me that my darling Gordon Setter, Ruby, has a tumor the size of a fist fused to her intestine. It is too big to remove. They have biopsied, closed her back up and now we wait for 5 days until the results come back. It doesn't look good. It is very large. She only went in for a clip and vaccinations but I also told the vet she had been off her food & was running a bit of a temperature for the last week. Investigations led to this. I get to pick her up tomorrow & she can come home while we wait. She is a total sweetheart of a dog - the gentlest, most people orientated girl. She is a young 7 years old. I'm crossing my fingers but without much hope. Love you Ruby. xxx Nicole
  4. I am not a breeder, just a multi pet owner! Over the years I have found that when I get pups that are older (10-12 weeks) they are much better socialised and tend to have more even temperaments as adults.... that is a generalisation but that is just my own personal experience. I prefer older pups now - in fact have just got an 11 w.o. kelpie and she is a gem! I flew my Gordon Setter when she was 12 weeks from Tasmania to NSW - she has no problems with crates or flying now as a 4 y.o.
