  1. Hi, just wondering if anyone knows where i can get an ultrasound between brisbane and the sunny coast? i'd prefer sunny coast area but as i cant seem to find any there, other areas would be great.. thank you
  2. Ok thanks for that i'll start it earlier then.. it is frozen too.. the main reason i asked was because the vet said it'd be better not to board her and its an hours drive to get there.. its not the money just getting the time off work at the right time i suppose.. I'd rather board her so they can do it each day or second day.. driving there every day or so will be a pain.. thanks for the help..
  3. Hi guys, My vet said that i get The first bloods done about day 6-7 after you see the first signs [vulval swelling, spotting, males wanting to mate] then the next test is done around 2-4 days later depending on the results. The insemination is done around 2-3 days after the progesterone concentration reaches approx 26nmol/l.. does everyone get the bloods done like that? cos i was thinkin i could just wait the extra couple of days an get the bloods around 8, 9 or 10 days seeing that the insemination is done even later.. We're waiting on her to come into heat she's a week over at the moment..
  4. I am a pet Sitter in burpengary QLD and i care for pets that are alone most of the week which i see once or twice daily.. I have left my girl with pet sitters also which i would use over a kennel any time. A dog is alone all day in a kennel anyway, in a cage mind you, alone from breakfast until dinner with heaps of others dogs barking and whining and with MAYBE an short grass break.. to me that is not a great experience. At least leaving them at home they are comfortable in their own familiar surroundings.. I see pets everyday, playing with them, feeding them, taking them for runs, bathing and brushing them giving them the attention their owners would lavish on them if they were there, to me an hour or 2 of that a day is better then all day at a kennel.. plus your home is security checked, mail collected, bins taken in/out, aired out, i even mow the lawns and look after pools for some families.. I think it makes a difference how much love the dog/pet recieves, wether its at a kennel or from a sitter.. you just have to ask each what they provide your pets..
  5. do you know where i could get this dvd espinay2? do library's have it? i'd rather hire it or borrow it considering im only doing the A.I once. thanks
  6. ohh ok thanks Fifi, yeah its straws. thank you
  7. The beach seems to be a popular pleasure.... i would agree Our last outing together bitter sweet day.... R.I.P my Tysee
  8. Ohh thats awesomr congrats, its a nervous thing to wait for.. Our girl comes into season again around mid march so we'll be going with annette she also quoted me 650-750 including 4 prog tests, anaesthetics, up to 7 days stay, evaluation and insemination so it sounds good. I am soo nervous about it.. The surgical insemination being done all at once instead of several times as in natural matings is worrying and i supose cos its our first AI.. We breed american staffordshire terriers and i got the breeding from a stud in USA for $2000 only 1 breeding so HOPEFULLY it will work out for us.. How many straws do you usually get from 1 breeding? Thanks everyone for the reply and info. :D
  9. Has anyone heard of Annette Page on the south side of brisbane for Frozen A.I? If so how was it service wise and cost wise? did you end up with a good litter? I know it depends on alot of different things but and mostly looking for feedback on success from this vet? thanks
  10. Hi guys, My husband and i are looking into frozen AI for the first time, and are interested in hearing from those experienced in this way of breeding.. When the stud and bitch are together they mate multiple times so im wondering what the success rate for 1 breeding of AI is? Have you noticed smaller litters from frozen AI? Or has the Insemination just not worked at all? We are on the north side of Brisbane and will be looking for an experienced vet to do this for us, can anyone recomend one? If you have any advice or experience to share we would love to hear it, we want to be as informed as much as possible before we proceed.. thanks heaps
