Adelaide Secret Santa - Xmas Meet On Dec 5th
Finnesse replied to MsKatie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I may pop in if I have time if that's ok Ella has missed out on a lot lately due to her badly timed season lol. Just re-read the Dog Show times and it starts early evening up at Gawler so if I have her groomed up ready to go hopefully she stays looking respectable I wonder if she remembers her friend Justice. I know she will be happy to see Akira and Snik and that Earl will be happy to slobber on her -

We had a lovely day out at the Lappie Picnic at Rymill Park, it was a pretty setting, very green and shady. It was great to meet new Lappies and their owners and we had a wonderful turn out.. Not everyone could make it but there were 11 Lappies and two wannabe Lappies (Akira and Esky). We also had a couple of families interested in the breed come out to say ‘Hi’ which was nice. I think they got to see quite a variety. After introductions were made we took the dogs for a walk around the lake and park. It was rather warm so we didn’t go too far. There were some Bouncy Castles around which looked like fun for the dogs and us adults but we thought we better not intrude. After the walk we sat down to a picnic lunch and a natter. By this stage most Lappies were happy to just lay down except for maybe Charlie (the Watersedge pup, sister to Raiven and Vienna) who still wanted to play. She ended up wet from wanting a duck in the lake but she was having a great time. A big to all those that came out to make it a very pleasant day and especially our photographer Jeff (Shuyak), for taking lots of photos which I will get off him later. One not so good photo for now Akira (Sibe), Varda, Kit Kat, Jukki, Jaana, Kozzie, Sinikka, Scotia, Meeko, Portia, Charlie, and Kumere -

Not this time - he may dehydrate trying to drool on all of those Lappies :D Plus I want to cuddle Lappies without a big drooly Bloodhound trying to get in on the act *L* So - unless anyone really wants him there I will leave him - and his drool - at home We look forward to seeing you and Shannon there and you are right it will be a lot easier to get Lappie cuddles and talk to Lappie owners that way :D Not that I don't adore Earl and his DROOL -

SA’s Inaugural Finnish Lapphund & Friends Picnic and Walk This is an open invitation to all Lappie owners, prospective owners and admirers to join us for a fun outing. You are most welcome to pass on this information to those you know who may also be interested. When: Sunday 21st November 2010 at 11:30AM Where: We will meet at Rymill Park, on the corner of Dequetteville Tce & Bartels Road Facilities: You'll find large shady trees, a rose garden, toilets, a playground and a kiosk that apparently serves great coffee. What to bring: Your Finnish Lappie/s on lead. Water for your dog and drinks for yourself, your own picnic food and a picnic table, chairs, rug. What to expect: An enjoyable family day out with your dog/s and a leisurely walk. It should be a great day and will be lovely to see so many Finnish Lapphunds in one place at one time. I believe there may be around twenty living in SA so it will be nice to see how many we can get out. See you there!

Beatiful photos CW EW especially the 1st one. Charlie's coat is looking really good and they both look pretty darn happy.

I go here^^^ and have dragged Whiskedaway along with me Another good place to learn is by watching others at Dog Shows down at SACA where most are held. There are a few people who will offer you a helping hand there if you ask and tell them you are a newbie The best thing to do is watch the Junior Show Handling which is held in the lunch period of the shows, you will learn a lot doing that. If you go here http://www.dogssa.com.au/Website/index.php?id=50&level=2 then on the left to the Downloads you will see where each show will be held Good luck with it all

Fran you could contact Wayrod who is a member on here and ask if he has any suggestions. He does dog transport and Ella flew from Perth to Adelaide on a weekend. I highly recommend him and if he can't help himself he may be able to give you some ideas ;)
