Vomit Inducing Drug For The House
LizT replied to jacqui835's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Last year my Cavalier bitch ate a whole block of "Old Gold Rum 'n Raisin Dark Chocolate" !! The Vets gave her two small crystals of 'Washing Soda' (Sodium Carbonate) I now always keep some on hand. Available in Supermarkets and Chemists. Followed up with Activated Charcoal Tablets. Available at Health Food Stores. -
As a Cavalier breeder Heart Murmurs are a foremost concern as this breed suffers quite commonly from Mitral Valve disease. It is very common for a puppy to have something called an "Innocent Murmur" which will usually be gone by 12 weeks of age and is of no consequence to it's health. In the rating of the severity of Heart Murmurs being graded from 1-6 Grade 1-3 is not considered serious. Grade 4-6 possibly requiring medication and likely to require medication as the animal becomes elderly, particularly if overweight during it's lifetime. If a Cavalier Puppy presented with a Grade 3 murmur it would be consigned to a "Pet Home" not to be used for breeding but it would be expected to be living a normal life. It certainly would not be P.T.S. I do not know how this translates to the Staffordshire Breed though. I would assume a heart murmur is a heart murmur?? I also do not know if the fact that it is a 'blue' pup relates to any further complications with this condition. Hope this information is of some help to you.

I recently read of something called a "Split Season" where the bitch will come into season with all the usual signs, vulva swelling, bleeding and it will be short and followed a few weeks later by the 'full' season. Apparently they do not release an egg in the first "false season" but the ovulation takes place on the second period of the season. That is why mating during the first phase does not produce puppies. Often, a low grade infection is found.

Way to go Dukie Boy!!!

She is going to have lots of milk for one bub! Yes, balancing her nutrition has been a bit of a challenge. Enough to give her extra nutrition, not too much ortoo rich so it doesn't all go into just one pup, making it huge! Then when feeding I've decided just two nipple (if Jnr. gives me any say??!!) and ever so lightly express off any that need it. It'll be interesting. If all goes well I'll put up a notice if anyone needs a "foster mum".

OM goG you sound like me when I get drunk! I ramble on about the dogs, horses, (sometimes even my kids, go figure!) Poor Mr.B sounds like he got the short end of the stick and not much "cuddles" :D

Awwww...puppies! Bet Bella is greatly relieved now....looks like she's got plenty in the "Milk Bar" too! Are they milk drips I see on the light coloured bub?

My favourite was this one: Good grief ... her dogs are never outside unsupervised except when she's in the bathroom and they are 3 and 4???? My dogs love being in the house but they love their outside time, too. If my dogs were crated all day while we were at work, they could probably 'hold it' but they would hate it. Makes you wonder what kind of neighbourhood they live in doesn't it?

The Maltese X isn't elderly. It's 8 months old.

Parsely and Rosehip are also beneficial in prevention and treatment of a UTI

I too had a Lhasa Apso and a Schipperke who ran with a young German Shepherd pup. All outside. My Lhasa also died at 17 but did develop an anal adomnma and had to be desexed at 13. But I must say I've never put a puppy as young as 9 weeks outside to play unsupervised. If I go out they come in and get put in a play pen.

Good idea, just use the one At the laundry mat Can you tumble dry Vet bed? I would have thought it was too synthetic and would melt and fuse up.
