  1. Are you sure that it is not about getting your attention to play or something? Yep, Tonka does this. It is sort of like they set the thing up so that it 'moves' and then they can chase...quite effective really :) Tonka always pushes certain toys under the couch and then looks at me helplessly to get it out and then he does it again I have to get up to get down and reach under
  2. Oh no! People are scum if he has been stolen. Fingers crossed for a safe return very soon!!
  3. After all this rain I am dreading to think what Tonka will get into with the dog walkers tomorrow . He is often dirty when I come home and gets on my bed the little grommit
  4. Aww...you will miss that little one. Is seven becoming senior-ish for a little dog?
  5. Cute Tonka butt...let's just say he never got the hang of agility
  6. Well said Mita...I was just thinking to post something with the same message as I scrolled through. There are many types of cuteness :D
  7. Actually, I was going for some reverse psychology...you aremeant to post cute pictures of your dogs to prove me wrong...c'mon
  8. My little Tonka Toy may be the cutest little fella on DOL. What do you think? :D
  9. Yes, that's what I do now if doubtful (run things by the reception when calling the vet) and I understand, I took my dog off to the vet a bit too much at first :)
  10. Nic B it propbably feels like you are getting nowhere but you are working your way thru all the leads you are getting. Something will come thru. Just stay safe and keep all there safe for the time being. I can understand that when a snake seems to have a relenentless attraction to your house you are feeling unsafe. This is not forever and someone will be available. Just keep plugging away and avoid the backyard for now :)
  11. Cazstaff, I join all other DOLers in feeling outraged and heartbroken that this happened to Buddy. I am so glad that you have brought him home and can have time to say goodbye. As hard as it may be, think of the love and life he had with you and not this sad way of it ending. So very sorry that you are going through this and you have every right to feel angry as well as devestated right now...it is a shocking thing...
  12. Yep. This is important. How on earth are they accounting for it given the conditions you thought you were getting for your dog??
  13. Yes...K and P very wise!! You may have to be a pioneer in that case as I was in my current Bondi building... I think the North Shore however may be more conservative and frankly in older buildings with owners who have held in the building for decades the problems arise. Newer, younger owners tend to be pretty liberal on this subject
  14. Dougal buy off plan in Waterloo/ Zetland where I have...a dog loving area and pets allowed in most buildings as an expected norm...a great feeling! Off leash parks everywhere
  15. This is an article in the Sydney Morning Herald about a cat attacking two police officers Cat Rescue
  16. This reminds me of Robert DeNiro in Taxi driver. "you talkin' to me?" Ha ha Just discovered this thread. Great shots everyone
  17. They just showed the man on the news with a black eye and holding his little maltese x dog. Both are okay and he will keep walking in the park but wants the guy caught. it sounded very viscious and the old man was very upset about his dog being attacked. Disgusting. I hope they catch the man who was apparently in his 50's
  18. It is true that this seems on the extreme edge of 'not liking dogs.' There must be something in it. Either as others have suggested misinformation and/or a bad experience in your sister-in-law's history. If it is bad experience then it can count for some compassion even though it seems ill-informed and comes out in a critical and blaming way from them. The second reality may be that your dogs do smell and/or shed all over the house too much in other's opinions. It is worth reflecting on that in case there is some truth to be gained. Finally, after looking at all that I err on the side of giving it one more shot this year and bathing the dog and containing the dog as has been suggested, to show that you are considerate of them. The test would then be if they are able to appreciate you for your efforts and respect your generousity by stopping their seemingly open tirade against the fur kiddies.
  19. Can we have a picture of your pup when you get the ear attire going? :D
