Oh, what an awful thing to happen. You poor thing. I really hope Abbey recovers. Hugs to you.

I really enjoy having goals. I am looking forward to 2012, getting back into agility after having a break for severl years. DYZNEY Realistic - N. Ch. Title - JDX Title (already has 4 passes) - HSBs Title - RN Title Possible, Time permitting - added bonus - HSAd Title - CDX Title - TD Title (already has one pass) - SPDX Title (already has one pass) Overall - endeavour to maintain and preserve Dyzney's young and vibrant outlook and attitude towards life. Keep her well and as pain free as possible. FAME Realistic - AD Title - JD Title - SPD Title - HSAs Title - CCD Title (already have one pass) - Minimum 3 V ratings (if possible) Possible, Time permitting - added bonus - ADX Title - JDX Title - TD Title - RN Title - ET Title (think she may be in season for the only one trial she can enter next year because of her age, so may have to leave this one until 2013) Overall - Continue building Fame's drive and confidence. I am always very satisfied with 3 titles per dog per year if I am working multiple dogs. JAG OH is now doing all the training and trialling with Jag, so this will all be entirely up to him. I believe he wants to get Jag's HT Title and do some Tracking and Rally.

Hi again everyone. We would like to thank you all for your time and input. You have provided us with some great ideas and we spend quality time considering all suggestions and thoughts. We have just finished PMing those we felt were the 10 most helpful posters, advising that they will be receiving a FREE Polar Collar. Meg K9+ Soft Dog Crates www.k9softdogcrates.com.au

Sure it was you then - I also remember Ruby when I was starting out trialling as a beginner with my first dog (pre-kelpie) and used to be in absolute awe of everyone in Masters, especially those with the breeds that you didn't see as often. Had forgotten that Greg used to run a Rotti ! With the current rule change you may well want to reconsider Pairs for a bit of fun - if you team with a 500 dog you could jump 500 now in that event. Wow, you remember Ruby, how gorgeous. She was an amazing bitch, so much drive in agility.... back in the days when I didn't really even know what drive was She competed in 2002 Top Jumping Dog of the Year. Sadly we lot Ruby when she was 7 to IMT. I am sure I will remember you then too KC. I don't forget a face... names maybe :D Greg had Axel. Will think about ESP. Would love to do it... but I might be hard pressed finding someone (with a 500 dog or anyone even) whom does not already have a partner from Novice that is prepared to pair up with us. Will certainly give it some thought, thanks for the heads up. Dyzney definitely prefers the 500 jumps.

I don't check in here very often, so please excuse me if this opinion is a bit dated. I am sure the old open class certificates would be accepted in NSW. The girls in the office are likely to need a note explaining the discrepency on the card, and it might end up being referred to the agility committee, but I am sure that in the end it would be OK'ed. You ae certainly right about how handling techniques have developed onver the last few years. Thanks CFS. Yes good point regarding records and possible require for submission of pass cards and accompanying note explaining.

Awesome photo Pav and Reb.

Thanks KC. It may well be me you are remembering. Back then there was only Bobbee Terrill, Greg Milner and I doing agility with Rottis. I will contact Dogs Vic when they re open for 2012 and I will also check with agility committee... just thought I would ask here first, in case anyone knew for sure. I won't do anything until I have a definitive answer as I may be bringing my girl back in. Recently I have been starting my young bitch Fame, getting her ready to trial next year and seems Dyzney is super keen to get back out there also. I take Dyz along to training for a bit of competitive drive with Fame. I made a few jokes about putting Dyz back in, but was just joking... and then decided to pull out old pass cards. We stopped trialling in late 2006, but ended with 3 of the older Open Jumping passes and 1 Excellent Jumping pass. (She also has an Excellent SP pass, but we won't be chasing another 4 of those, not at her age, bless her cotton socks). Dyz is super keen and seeing as we have 4 passes, provided the are still able to be used, I thought we might give it a go. It is keeping her young, she is still herding and loves being "mum's special girl". Dyzney was a pill for knocking bars when she was trialling, so only needing one pass might not be easy it at sounds But then again she is older and more sensible and although my handling leaves a lot to be desired, if I can get it right, she works beautifully with me :D She is very forgiving of my errors. Anyway, I am planning on getting Fame measured at K9's trial in Feb, so might put Dyz in that one??? Still undecided and still want to make sure about the old passes. It will be great to catch up with people I have not seen for a few years. From what I can gather a lot of the old faces are still in it, of course there are many newies as well. I am really looking forward to getting back into agility. Fame is showing a bit of promise and loving it. I think it will help her confidence and drive for our obedience also. Agility has come so far since I was doing it. So much more to handling now, I am learning a lot, but my old brain is stuck in the past a bit Never mind. I am out to have fun, get some titles if we can and build confidence in my dog. I don't expect my dogs to be competitive, not like my Ruby in the old days. Everything is so much faster now and the skill level is incredible... blows my mind. I love it.

Bumping, just to see if anyone else has any reason to believe that old Open pass cards, prior to Excellent being introduced, could not be used towards an Excellent title. ... or anyone else that has done similar to Ness, but using even more recent Excellent pass cards included in their mix of eligible passes.
-
OUCH!!! Sounds like she was pretty lucky then really. And yes, can't keep a good bitch down. Well, we look forward to seeing you both at Cranny.

Thanks for the reminder - will have to enter Rhemy, though I am not sure she will make it into the ring as she had to have surgery on her leg (fractured by bad fall & floating piece of bone) two days ago and being nearly 10 yrs old - well we'll see how she goes. Though she was flirting her butt off with her grandson yesterday - old tart - so she is feeling ok. Thanks to the club for holding the class - will be getting my entry + 4 others Bisart, I am so sorry to hear about Rhemy breaking her leg. This is always a worry with the oldies. I hope her surgery goes well and her convalescing is a smooth and quick process. Poor poppit. Please give her a hug for me. We hope to see her out and about again very soon.

let me know if you need a bed the night before Tallangatta, I'm just over an hour I think from there. Or any other time on your way to a show. Have a spare bed and the yard is well divided. Oh aren't you gorgeous Reb, so sweet of you to offer, thank you. I will be sure to let you know if I would like to take you up on your very generous offer... at this stage, my trips up that way are all going to be flying runs.

Well done Ness... yes that was a great way to finish it off
-
Thanks Ness.
-
That would be great if you wouldn't mind Ness. And what is the date of you 5th pass please?
-
That's what I thought too Ness, certainly could not see otherwise in the rules and have not yet found anyone that says they know otherwise for sure Jumps were higher and weavers were included, so it was only more difficult if anything or certainly not easier at least, so I can't imagine why there would be a rule against it.
-
Curious... does anyone here know please... if a dog had pass cards in say Open Jumping from 2005, dated prior to Excellent Classes being introduced (so they would be what we now call Excellent Jumping) are these pass cards still eligible towards gaining an Excellent Jumping Title, if this same dog gained the remaining pass/passes now in Excellent jumping. I know they were allowed way back then, but has there been a cut off date introduced at all since? Appreciate any assistance/advice anyone can offer.

Yeh, I know what you mean Gayle... it certainly adds up doesn't it?! That sounds like a good idea, free accomm and family visits

I am entering Tumbarumba (only one day as it is the weekend of our Vic specialty), and Tallangatta. Also Gundagai, Darnum and Bermagui, all only for Neuter classes. It will be a heck of a lot of travel but I don't mind, my bitch is getting on, if I don't do it now, we may run out of time. I love driving, so all good :D Hoping to get this title by April if we can, but you just never know. I am having a ball trying, so doesn't matter anyway. If we don't need Ovens Valley, I will still put in entries as promised, Reb This is our sweet old chick Dyzney, covered in mud at Albury this year... OMG was that fun slipping around in all that mud

Mini Schnauzer - Great With Kids?
Starkehre replied to LamborghiniMurphy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I am doubtful that a new puppy will require less time and/or be easier to train than the previous dog. This is an owner/trainer issue, not a dog/breed issue -
I look forward to catching up with you guys, Reb and Gayle. Hope it is not too hot. I am well and truly due for some GH snuggles.
-
It's a definite NO from me
-
I think it is a terrific idea for a thread I have PMd you Saffioraire
-
Unfortunately they are not offering Neuter Classes at any of these shows
-
Thanks again Graham.

Thanks Graham. As always you are a wealth of knowledge. I had not previous noticed the word "challenge" omitted from Neuter Certificate, so I can see why that would make the technical difference.
