Probably not exactly what OP is asking for, but OH caught this on video a couple of nights ago and it is great for a laugh for anyone that enjoys a bit of tongue action... mind you when I saw it, I was very glad she had not bitten her tongue. This is Seven. Sorry about the quality.

Does This Happen Often These Days?
Starkehre replied to redangel's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I always request fluids prior to the vet even offering. I loathe to put my dog under GA at the best of times. To assist flush and cleanse I will do everything I can so I always opt for fluids. I find it also aids in GA recovery. Many dogs feel nausea after GA and won't drink for quite a while themselves. I want to know that my dogs' organs are well hydrated. -
Fully Blocked Tear Duct
Starkehre replied to RiverStar-Aura's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Are the ducts blocked or not patent? I have a dog with poorly constructed tear ducts and have to deal with permanent weeping. Very frustrating. Dry eye is managed with drops. I have punctum plugs for severe dry eye, but doubt/unsure if these are available for dogs. -
Black and Tan :D of course

Found A Grass Seed In Cindys Eye! :(
Starkehre replied to JessicaM's topic in General Dog Discussion
Fantastic. Great news. :) -
I have not been able to comment on this thread, because after seeing the video I was overwhelmed with a gamut of negative emotions from rage towards the parents through to pity for the dog, and just feeling sick to my stomach. It infuriates me just how many people have absolutely no idea how to read dogs and they don't even seem to care enough to realise how important it is to learn such things. Non dog savvy people (and this includes many owners) would think this dog was loving what the child was doing as I am sure these people did. I cannot stand seeing people put dogs through what they should not be subjected to and expecting the dog to tolerate abuse. It is disgusting. Most Rottis I know, actually possibly nearly all Rottis I know would behave in the same manner as the dog shown on the clip, but that is not the point. They should not have to. How dare humans expect an animal to have to tolerate being abused this way. Who the hell do they think they are. Added, IMO all dogs, any breed or size are potential weapons in the wrong hands. It is more about the handler and the environment than the dog. Dogs must be treated with respect and understanding.

No numbers but my cheque has been banked. Numbers will probably arrive on Thursday I would imagine. :)

Found A Grass Seed In Cindys Eye! :(
Starkehre replied to JessicaM's topic in General Dog Discussion
Poor Cindy. Well done locating the grass seed and removing it. If the swelling/irritation has not reduced dramatically within the next 24-36 hrs, I would be getting her along to the vet, as any foreign object in the eye can cause ulceration, let alone what others have mentioned regading fragments still remaining. Anti-biotic cream can fix ulcers pretty quickly, but ulcers can be extremely painful and can set off a nasty infection will may lead to further serious eye issues. eyes are definitely not worth mucking around with. good luck and hopefully there will no further issues. :) -
Only 2 more sleeps SC and Emma will be your special Christmas gift. Isn't that lovely... making her birthday and christmas. She is just shy of a miracle. :) Don't worry about my ouch SC  Dyz has always been a food grabber. I can get her to take it carefully, but because I throw food often in training, she is always ready to catch it... even before it leaves my hands so it's my own fault. Sounds like Emma got the hint after her telling off. Well done. The free range duck sounds awesome. I might have to hunt up something special for our kids too, great idea, thanks. Watch out for the heat today SC. XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Ouch, cheeky Emma. If it makes you feel any better I get these all the time from Dyz in fact I am sporting a nice owy on my thumb from the show last weekend where she got a bit exhuberant when I was baiting her in the ring. Hey, just a though SC, is Emma on cortisone? It can have a slight mind altering affect and definitely does make them hungrier, so either of these may be the culprit of Amma's new found cheekiness with food?? ... Not to try to make any excuses for her of course :D but just a thought. Nice to see Emma still has plenty of attitude and zest for life. You take care, both of you :)

So do I have this right... from here on they will dispose of all documents in secure bins? So our credit card details will still be in the rubbish to be tampered with down the line further, just not on the grounds next time. Why can't they shred such documents? I don't think I will feel comfortable sending them my credit card details anymore. I just assumed the documents would be shredded or filed and kept. More fool me.

I do showing and obedience plus herding and agility. Some dogs I have taught to show gait prior to heeling and visa versa for others. In training or showing if my dog looks at me whilst gaiting (happens occasionally) I calmly say "leave" they seem to cotton of very quickly. I train a different commands for the dog to watch my face, watch my hand and watch straight in front of them. I sometimes also train with another dog in front which encourages them to forge forward and gait in drive. My command for show gaiting is "go" They very quickly learn the difference in lead pressure, handler body language, clothing, venue etc. For all breeds I want my dog ever so slightly in front with my lead being constantly tort. It is amazing that even the slightest differences in handlers the dogs are incredibly aware of when we alter disciplines. I also have the differences between all breeds and specialty showing to contend with. Not major but definitely additional training. I hold the leash differently and it is a different leash and collar than all breeds plus the dog gaits faster and for a longer period of time at specialty. And then there is clowns corner (double handling) and the is forgiven for a more natural free stack. In obedience my leash is very loose or non existent. We teach focus before we do any heeling work. All the difference required behaviours and movements are just broken down into small exercises, not really any different to training anything. It is similar to how some people don't believe you do tracking and herding because if there are sheep or cattle in a paddock the dogs will automatically herd them. When tracking, the dog knows it is tracking. You train it to remain focused on the task at hand. In addition, there is the relaxed walk. My youngster is just getting this one down pat now. That one is normally easily taught, but with heeling, specialty and all breeds gaiting and specialty clowns corner it can slow the proofing down a bit. Getting the youngsters to understand pulling hard is very desirable in some instances and not others takes a little longer, but still all possible. You see a lot of it in our breed with specialty/obedience dogs and most manage this really well.

$50 for a shredder... even we use one and we are but a small business. Glad I paid my renewal early.

And I for one only entered this show because the Neuter Class was offered, I wouldn't have if it wasn't. So thank you Kilmore KC for the chance to show my neuter boy, he loves to come out and show off (& he won another Best Neuter In Group too :)). Congrats to your lovely lad Bisart. He looked great in the Group run off. I have it on video if you'd like me to post the link. Thank you Kilmore for offering the Neuter classes. LOl of me being half cripple trying to keep up with him !!!! I would love that if you don't mind :) -thank you so much. Clare got some lovely shots of him in the GS Ring & on the move too, even though I couldn't run hardly at all by that stage. Again, congrats on your young girl getting a beautiful BOB & Puppy In Group - very nice win, esp under a breed person. Not at all Bisart, it is lovely. My husband was focusing on Dyzney as you can imagine, so you are missed in a couple of bits sorry, but what we see of you and your boy is nice. Here is the link Thank you about Seven's results. That was pretty thrilling for us, she is not even 10 months old.
