We (K9+) also now sell RHVC in the 500mg tub if anyone requires it, posted anywhere in Australia. We decided to distribute the product after trying it on Dyzney and seeing a remarkable improvement in her happiness and movement by day 5. Seriously amazed. I had her on Sashas Blend and Joint Guard and have now discontinued both. I am always fairly sceptical when trying anything new, so was not ready to admit seeing such improvements in a hurry, but even my husband could see it. Now I have another of our dogs on it and I am taking the human capsules. absolutely thrilled -
Fantastic Emily, well done. You took on board what was suggested and you and bonnie have come a long way. Bonnie is working well for you and you are handling her really well.

Yeh, I get this sort of thing a lot. I'd say you are just feeling a little overwhelmed with the major changes this will bring to your life. Just give it a few days and I reckon you will feel heaps better. It is an adjustment phase. The positive side is like you said the dog is pretty much perfect and fitting in really well, so all that is awesome. Try and take the pressure off yourself and relax a bit. You will cope, all will be fine and you will be ever so happy when you feel on top of things again. Take care :)

Exercise - (physical and mental)... type, quantity and regularity. Still think genetics possibly plays the biggest roll, but you did say genetics aside :)

:D  Love the box. I thought it sounded like a daggy idea, but I was wrong!! It looks awesomely fun :D

You'd think so wouldn't you Ash. But Fame is incredibly fit. She has a little breather, few seconds usually and always dives straight back in  She can do this for 40 minutes or so, til I call it off and do it all again for days on end. Sure, she sleeps well, but it never really exhausts her. She has amazing energy. This is her other favourite passion (behind herding sheep) :D

LG, it is very much an interesting derivative of butterfly isn't it?! We are thinking about entering Fame in the Olympics.

Let's see the video of you swimming Teebs Hey yeh.... get a Rotti, you know you wanna. Our breed can do with more great owners like you!!! BTs are awesome too though. I would love another one, one day. :)

I know lou, every time I watch it I crack up at my laughing. Between you and I, I think I did a little wee that day

DD, it did take me a while to get accustomed to it. and I NEVER allow her to swim without me being 100% supervised... just in case anything happens. She takes in a lot of water. I also call it off when I think she has had enough because otherwise I reckon she would swim until she dropped, she loves it so much. Fame started doing this when she was around 3 months of age in the clam shell pool. She made a little splash with her left leg and bit at the splash... that was the start of her brilliant swimming career  she is obsessive about her splashing in the lowest levels of water even, so when it came time o the real thing, she simply transferred it to the deep water, and this is the end result. We make jokes about taking our washing to the dog pool each week cause she agitates the water so much :D

Last week at Countrywide Cottages, our dogs had their usual fun time in the dam each day. Fame took an extra day to go in and this video shows her first swim for the week. Please feel free to roll around laughing at her very "Different" swimming style, I know I was whilst videoing. She is having fun and that's all that matters. * for the knockers, Fame has been swimming like this for 2.5 years. We have tried everything to correct it, but she is actually playing. She is splashing the water and biting at the splashes she makes. she does the same thing in inches of water. It is what she enjoys and it keeps her fit :D

Could A Breeder Successfully Sue For This ?
Starkehre replied to Christina's topic in General Dog Discussion
I know of contracts that have held up. Been fought and won. Limited Registery does not indicate that the dog cannot be bred with according to the law or physical possibility. It simply means the dog cannot be bred with in accordance with the state CC COE, nor can the puppies be registered with the state CC. So, puppy buyers are not breaking the law, nor are they breeching any COE if they are not state CC members. It would be a civil case between the original breeder and the new breeder and depending the original breeder's own contract, it may be won. -

Hi Dougal :) I am the owner of K9+ Soft Dog Crates and I will give you the same spiel that I offer all prospective customers asking similar questions as yours. In my experience and opinion soft styled dog crates are designed to house dogs that are either puppies being closely trained and supervised or adults that are comfortable and confident in their own company and content with confinement. So basically what I am saying is that almost ANY dog over the age of 16 weeks COULD if they were completely that way inclined, tear their way out of any brand of soft styled crate, mine included. The crates are not designed to house dogs that have this intent or lack of training. If your dog is not comfortable and confident in her own company and content with confinement and you do not have the time, inclination or experience with training her until such time as she is, then purchasing another soft styled crate is likely to be setting yourself and your dog up for a loss rather a win. As others have mentioned the fact that she has already torn her way out of one crate indicates that she is likely to do the same thing again unless a different strategy is adopted. The reason for this is that the act of destroying the crate and escaping is self rewarding, so she has inadvertently been praised for her act... unintentionally of course. :) Once again in my opinion and experience the likelihood of success with using a soft styled crate depends more upon the owner, their experience, expectations, time, commitment, training skills and situation and less on the dog itself. If an owner still has serious doubts about suitability after I have mentioned the above, I will suggest that perhaps they will be better off purchasing a steel crate. For us, it is not about pumping out crates, but more about doing everything we can to ensure that we supply the best crate for the dog and owner or advise otherwise. A soft styled dog crate is no more comfortable for a dog than a steel crate. The soft flexible walls are almost irrelevant. The bedding is what provides the comfort and different bedding can be used in either. There are many people that prefer a soft styled crate for aesthetics, safety for little fingers, light weight portability or other reasons and of course these reasons are all very relevant because this is an owner's choice. That said I would always recommend that suitability is the first indicator of crate type choice rather than any of the above reasons. Is it possible to successfully crate train a puppy to a soft styled crate? Absolutely. Is it possible to crate train an adult dog to a soft styled crate? Absolutely. Are there any dogs that no matter how much training is involved will never be a good candidate for a soft styled crate? Yes, there are some. I doubt yours is one of these, but without knowing more I could not say for sure. Anyway, all food for thought and I hope this has been helpful :) Please feel most welcome to send us an email and we can advise further. [email protected]

For indoors, our dogs have their own couch and couch futon (opened out into a bed). I was thinking for you, if you had a 2 or 2.5 seater couch for him, it will be comfortable, have a back rest if he wants to lean up against it, easy to get on and off being higher (better for the joints than something on the ground), will not clash with décor if you can get something that goes with everything. The 2.5 seater we have can comfortably lay 1 or 2 of our 40-50kg Rottis. They move from either the that couch to the futon, whichever suits at the time. The couch is cord fabric (which is not so trendy now) but it is around 10 years old, dark green, so doesn't really show the dirt. Hair vacs or wipes off easily and we spray it weekly with a disinfectant/deodorizer spray. It has absolutely no blemishes and looks brand new other than a bit of grimy dirty sections that would dry clean off, so it just blends in with the rest of our furniture. We use the single seaters for ourselves. This 2.5 seater also fits in our bedroom for when we have had the dogs sleeping in there, but usually we just use a crate for that now. Our plan is to just throw the couch out when we have had enough of it or it walks out on it's own, LOL. The futon couch laid out as a bed, we put a fitted sheet over the huge cushion and wash it once or twice a week as needed and also spray the cushion regularly. I am sort of over dog beds a bit. I just find I spend a lot of money on them and they don't last and I get disappointed. Padded thins, covers get torn or zippers break or they are just too hard to wash. Hope you find something you are happy with. :)

Thank you for your advice everyone.

If you were using one in a line up behind me, I'd probably not be too thrilled. I really don't need my dog trying to turn around while he's being judged. For individual judging? Fill your boots. I hear ya HW. In a Puppy In Show line up, I actually had a handler directly behind us (and I mean very close) throw his bunch of keys for his Puppy's attention and they hit my Puppy on the hocks. I was hardly surprised when my girl broke her lovely stack to turn to see what had hit her. Pity, the judge was giving my bitch a damn good look prior, (one of those times where everyone tells you afterwards as well as that knowing feeling you get in the ring). Don't think she saw what happened and I am too soft to do much else than give a bit of a glare. I guess in this situation I would have preferred a squeaker, LOL. I;d have picked up the keys and pocketed them! Damn good idea... pity I didn't think of that  Oh and I forgot to mention that this Puppy took out PIS, so his behaviour was not setting a good example for other handlers.
