  1. Gotem :) Cut and burned the first lot a couple of days ago. Have two sized collars to match my ribbons for when they are older, plus leads of course :) Only two of my ribbon colors will have to change and I have already tied little pieces of ribbon to the replacement collar :D
  2. Yep, thought it may have been dropping last night, but up again this morning. If I happen to catch it (and it really doesn't matter if I don't cause we are ready anyway) I expect it will drop later today or tonight. *waiting, waiting, waiting*  do de do, taps fingers. I've gone out in sympathy. Got the Karcher going outside for Spring cleaning :D You go girl. I'm just up from banking some more sleep LOL. I can't do anymore cleaning. I karchered yesterday :)
  3. this is our whelping area. Gotta love the drop sheets all over the wall...Dexter would be so proud :)
  4. She's still as bright as ever...especially if I stand near the fridge :D Hasn't lost her appetite yet, doubt she will either LOL

  6. I've been the same TSD. Well not much else to do but try to bank some sleep. We're all ready to go, business is on holidays for 10 weeks. Piccie of gorgeous Seven cooling her tummy outside for a few minutes just now
  7. Morning all. :) Very tired here. Another night of broken sleep. I think she will go tomorrow and into Monday. Thanks Allerzeit. We are dying to see them too :) Kirislin, it is very quiet in here, so why not liven it up with puppy excitement :) TSDevil, thank you, exactly what we are hoping for. So far everything has gone copybook, so hoping the whelping does also. Have a terrific whelping team on stand by and repro vet on emergency standby also. SC, can't wait to show you the babies. I can just see your face as you suck in that puppy breath :)
  8. It's a massive baby belly isn't it SG she is doing really well however, happy, restful, still eating heaps and being such a sensible girl. I have been able to watch the puppies moving for a week or more. Might have to spam with photos when they arrive :D This was our 5 week ultrasound. Great top shot of this puppy's skull. You can see cheek and muzzle. Just amazing
  9. So excited, Seven is expecting what appears to be either a rather large litter, very big puppies or both this long weekend. She is due Labor Day (how ironic hey?!) but I think she will go Sunday. This photo was taken a few days ago, she is even bigger now. Will post baby photos soon
  10. So exciting Ellz, reckon you have babies coming :)
  11. Getting close. Just a few days to go. Looks like Seven will burst at anytime
  12. 10 days . I bet they feel like 20 for you Im holding my breath for you and seven. Thanks Steve. Time is actually really flying by now :)
  13. All the best Ellz and Bel. Monteba, how are things looking with your girl? My bitch, Seven has around 10 days to go and she is huge, but not fat. Doing really well, copy book so far. We are finishing whelping area set up this weekend and getting so excited :D
  14. Huge congratulations Rayhay. Wishing you many years of love and joy with your new puppy :)
  15. 30 day ultrasound. Everything still going beautifully :)
  16. Excellent post Espinay, the best yet. An excellent way to explain things in a non judgemental and easy to understand fashion. I would have tried to say the same thing, but it would not have come across nearly so well. :D Meg, please take this on board, it comes from a wealth of experience and with the very best, honest and correct intentions. all the very best in your venture
  17. Thank you ruffles and everyone else. I am thrilled to advise that she is going to Charles this week :)
  18. Thank you for your advice guys :)
  19. Hi all, my sister need to have her dog's cruciate done, complete tear. I have offered her as much advice as I can regarding recommended surgeons etc, but never having had to do one on my dogs I don't have first hand experience. Her dog is a 5 year old Rotti x Staffy desexed bitch, 25.5kg. She is aware there are a lot of options of surgery method and some vets don't do TPLOs. She is almost ready to book with a vet who doesn't after already seeing several vets and feeling the most comfortable with this guy in Keysborough, Chris Boemo. I am not saying she should go with someone who does, but would feel happier if she didn't close off her options in case once the vet sees the dog or opens her up feels this is the best option. Guys, I am asking for your personal or anecdotal experiences and/or recommendations of excellent vets or specialists in Melbourne area. My sister is based in Langwarrin, so closer would be more ideal however she is prepared to do what it takes to bet the best vet. Personally I would like her to go and see Charles or James from SP or Pete Laverty from Melb Ref. any thoughts? TIA
  20. Woohoo, confirmed pregnancy by ultrasound today Pretty awesome for a 22 day ultrasound, even see umbilical cord and we did see flashes of heart beats. Helps to have an awesome repro vet Puppies due 13/14 March
  21. I strongly recommend new puppy owners to take at least 2 weeks off work when the pup comes home.... however, promptly follow up that recommendation with insisting they ensure this time is specifically spent teaching their puppy to be calm comfortable and confident in its own company, happy in the environment it will be eventually left in and leaving and returning with no fuss. Spying on puppy, listening from outside or next door, leaving and sneaking back inside, gradually building up time away from the puppy are all excellent ways of the owner feeling reassured that when they are away for 8-10 hours a day that the puppy will be fine. If by the time owners are heading back to work they have built up time away for at least a few hours, then the pup will be fine. Obviously during this time there will be a lot of play time, training, cuddling etc as well, but my rule of thumb is for every 5 minutes you play with your puppy, he needs 10 minutes alone. Typically the puppy will be fine whether owners do the above or not, but the two biggest issues I find if they don't - 1. Owners worry and become anxious about leaving their puppy because they didn't build up the separation slowly and see that their efforts work and the puppy copes well. 2. Puppies thrust into a situation where they are suddenly alone without some prior habituation will often bark a lot, which is very unfriendly for suburban living.
  22. Puppy Culture (see link already provided) do have a lot of info (videos, blogs, articles) on their website that is free to browse through. Puppy Culture is geared to further selling their products, yes. Well worth the investment IMO :) The fb group (puppy culture discussion Group) is free to join and a lot of great info is discussed in there.
  23. Yes. Of course we cover this in our puppy file and explain/discuss, but having this nicely laid out, easy to read booklet is very new owner friendly. There are a couple of minor alterations I will make to suit our breed, but it is very close.
  24. I have been buying and making equipment for my litter for months. Been getting all prepared for my P/C litter. I have instilled a lot of helpers to assist with the puppy party training days and other taining. Puppy Culture produces amazingly resilient, confident, enrichment seeking puppies who develop into well rounded, outgoing, operant adults
