I second this idea - much stronger metal and easy to put together - I found the lighter ones would fall apart with the Labs throwing themselves against it - the Bunnings compost mesh is quite sturdy IMO:)great for pups at a show:thumbsup:

All honor to all the dogs and handlers that searched after 9/11

Aw Poor Nads I can understand the pull Yes he has a new baby Boxer - Sappy doesnt need another squeeky toy lol. When we were talking to him he said the pup was sick - do you know if Boxer pup is OK? We watched the special on Kokoda last Sunday - we spotted Nads ducking the camera Give Sapper a hug for us and tell him 2 or 3 of his 1/2 brothers are going to the Guide Dogs and 3 to Sydney for Sniffer or possibly bomb detection. Cool eh

OK there were officially 9 pups aarrived btwn 2230 & 0300 - all doing well I havent interferred ( yes Steve I got the message) except to place the smallest back on mum when the others are asleep. Weight varies from 480 - 566 ish which is nice and chunky for labs. All doing well as is mum. Tua is doing much better than I thought - compared to last time she refussed food for 3 days and stopped all milk by 2.5 weks this time loads of colostrum, eating & drinking well - the pups are settled and sleep - no whingers phew! -
Nah she is my baby n I luv her - except when she steals my shoes and fangs her mum Lara who is a professional victim.
-
aww sorry - have a look at my website - you cann see photos of the kids on that one. I promise I will bore you with Lab photos weekly

9 baby Labs born between 2230 & 0300 this morning. 5 yellow ( 2 girls 3 boys) 4 black - boys. Mum and pup growing well - breeder going to bed now
-
Lovely - you must be so excited - what is his/her breeding?
-
I meant to mention the black boy:- Tua managed to drop a pup outside in the cold while I was on the loo about 0200 this morning without me knowing. I kept thinking she had had a pup outside but by the time I got out there she was running in with another pup coming. So I thought OK this is the pup. 20 minutes later I am thinking there is a pup outside so I shot outside with the torch and there is a black baby stiff as a board. Im about to cry as I hold him to me and rub hus chest and che crys weakly. So woo hoo I am on - he is on the hot water bottle and rubbing him dry - lo & behold he starts crying & moving even though he is cold as. He can suck my little finger - so I put him on mum and he suckles - 0600 this morning I check on the litter and he is fine, full belly warm and feeding well. PHEW!!!

Well after all my neurotic ranting the xrays say 8 maybe 9. Phew - bones well calcified, large though not extreeme pups sitting low in the pelvis.Might revise due date to Friday/Saturday rather than Sunday /Monday methingks. Tua is calm, content, has plenty of colostrum (has for a week) and waiting for the furry ones to spring forth Sleeping lots and not eating much. Message to self 'chill Pauline go have a Latte and relax!' - Things will get busy enough - soon enough :D thanks for everyones tips - I really hate large litters and dont feel confident with them - but willing to take advice and be prepared plus trust my bitch that she can manage - dispite me! -

Tapua replied to Tapua's topic in Breeders Community
Fingers crossed all goes well this time too and I dont need to interfer at all - that would be the best option - its just that she struggled with the last litter and I want to avoid any problems if I can this time - just being prepared. -
I had a couple of kelpie pups who did that a few years ago - like you I thought they were swimmers or something was structurally wrong with them. But by about 10 days they were holding their shoulders in the right position, they had always fed well so I wasnt concerned after that - but yes its weird the first time I saw it. The wheels were spinning in my little head until they righted themselves. So I guess as long as they are feeding OK and they can get up when they need to - I think you will find they will work it out themselves

Ya gotta love 'em lil darlin's

Moving To Australia From Nz - Advice Bringing Our 2 Staffy's
Tapua replied to lolastaffy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Kia Ora Lolastaffy There will be no trouble coming over with your staffies there are no restrictions. Just use common sense - we have the general rules that apply to all dog owners, must be onlead in public, muct clean up after them, muct be microchipped and registered with the council etc. Since they are microchipped all you will need to do is bring the paperwork with you and they will go on a database in NSW -assuming the microchip can be read - which it should. In NSW there is a once only life time registration. If you are a registered breeder it is only $40.00 if not it will be $100+ for and entire male or female.Though I think individual councils may charge different rates. Email the local council you are moving to and they will let you know the costs. If you are a member of the NZ Canine Council email the NSW CC and start to organise the transfer of you NZ paperwork to the ANKC registration. Dogs NSW is PAINFULLY slow sometimes. Have a look at the AQIS website about vaccination http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis but I would email them their website is toooo busy! :thumbsup:Flights, transport etc will cost a bit - there are a number of companies which fly dogs, there is no quarantiine though for NZ dogs as long as the vaccinations are all up to date. The transport companies will tell you about the vaccination requirements too. I use Dogtainers but there are a number of options which can be cheaper. Hunt about. Other than that welcome to OZ -

Yes I have the Fenugreek ready I was not planning to separate the pups specifically - I have a very large whelping box and can divide them in 1/2 within the box with mum seeing everything. I dont want to interfer if I can avoid it. I have never tube fed - I must admit unless someone shows me how to do it I am a bit scared to tube feeding. Anyone near Woody (near Cowra) with expereice tube feeding I would appreciate some help. Otherwise I will be supplimenting - Im OK about that. I will have a look at the colostrum suppliment too. Thanks for that info.
