They are very genuine! Check the news, major flooding all through SEQ and headed toward Brisbane CBD. There are also quite a few threads in OT about the flooding, plus one pinned in General to update the statuses of QLD DOLers caught up in the floods.

Since Black Saturday I think the arson penalties have increased, particularly if people die in the fire.
-
Kaffy Magee just posted in OT saying they are ok, they're in goondiwindi and can't get any further.

Stay safe LuvLottie and we look forward to your return soon. :D

Mine get taken to the beach regularly and I never wash/rinse them off. I let them dry out and brush and dry sand left on them [which is usually almost nothing].

OH had a dog before me. He grew up always having a dog. Now we have two dogs, Peggie is 'his' and Spot is 'mine'.

Mine always come over to me to see if I've bought them anything yummy, or if I sit down, I have at least 2-3 jump up onto my knees and settle down for a nap. terranik

If you have had issues with wild dogs mauling your livestock, have you tried putting a special application into your council? Some councils, when presented with the issues and the fact you are only 1 acre short of the regulations may reconsider and issue a special permit. That doesn't surprise me. If they are of a rare breed, and a breeding trio, $500 is a pretty decent price for them. Chickens are similar to dogs in a way...you can pick up crossbred ones for a small price and you can pick up pure rare breeds for a small fortune! I have no issues with people shooting dogs chasing and mauling stock on their property. If I was faced with a dog chasing my stock, I'd shoot the dog. Its not my problem that the dog's owner is irresponsible enough to not contain their dog.

I was sitting outside OH's work, waiting to pick him up and was looking at the buildings, this one seriously looked like it had been computer generated! Day Seven: Real CG.

Well i'm quickly slipping in with 1/2 hour to spare. had such a drama filled afternoon and evening, almost forgot to do my photos. Luckily I snapped a decent enough shot waiting to pick OH up from work. I was sitting outside his work and looking at the buildings, this one seriously looked like it had been computer generated! Day Seven: Real CG.

DA can I steal your photo. I has a headache. I have had the seriously most emotionally stressful day. So much to deal with, so many ups, downs, lefts, rights and upsidedowns. Hence the title for my photo. A Day In Colours

I do not have it out for anyone or anyone's dogs! Who ever said that has seriously misconstrued what I said. I did not single anyone out. I had no idea who was throwing the ball. I never named anyone or anyone's dogs. I am not saying active dogs shouldn't be allowed. All I am asking is for people to refrain from bringing toys along. The dogs have fun without them. The humans have fun without them. I did not make it sound like we always have fights. I said we have the occasional tiff. And honestly it's expected with such a large group of dogs running together. And I also said that my dog has being involved in two scuffles with another dog over a ball. Maybe I should have mentioned these scuffles happened about 18 months apart! Why I took a few days to mention something, I needed some time to think, to work out if I was over reacting or if it a legitmate thing to say. I thought it was worth mentioning. Obviously I was wrong.

Just for the record, my dog is NOT dog aggressive. She is extremely ball obessessed and when she sees a ball she must have it. I get that people's dogs like to play with tennis balls, I have two who love them. I know people want to play ball with their dogs. But it is not fair on the people who have dogs who are like this [and I know I am not the only one] to then have to leash our dogs the whole time because someone might want to throw a ball for their dog. We already take precautions to keep certain dogs apart because we don't WANT fights at the meets. I bring my dogs to socialise with other dogs, not to play fetch. I leave that for the local dog park or the beach, where there are less dogs and a less liklihood of fights over prey objects. IMO throwing a ball for a dog, whilst there is 10-25 other dogs in a small area at a planned social is just inviting trouble.
