  1. The O'Halloran Hill vet on South Road is pretty good. Only been there a few times, but have come away very satisfied. All the vet nurses are very knowledgable and nice. Spot was desexed there and I was very happy the way they treated him and held him later than they usually allow [before they charge more] because I was unexpectedly caught up.
  2. anyone know of a place in the southern area of Adelaide/Adelaide hills where I can get roo tails/bones?
  3. I feed my dogs eggs mixed in veggies along with their RMB and offal.

  5. Where do you get yours from??
  6. Yes They are ALL coming home with me!! I wish...
  7. birdseed also germinates pretty quickly too. I know some people use it to grow a quick "green manure" crop for their veggie gardens, then mulch it into the soil.
  8. my dogs are always munching on grass. they also get fed pulped veggies [pumpkin, carrot, broccoli, etc]
  9. maybe try some natural deterrents for ants. rubbing fresh mint around the places they enter the house deter them [and mice too!] this site is full of really useful, natural pest deterrents: http://www.eartheasy.com/live_natpest_control.htm
  10. I bought a product called "Puppi-Trainer" Bitter Bite [by Rudducks]. It comes in a 250mL bottle with a spray top and is said to stop dogs chewing anything including themselves. I am yet to try it though. I found it at a pet store/aquarium shop in the section with shampoos, conditioners, itch relief etc.
  11. i think you can use the surgical tape from first aid kits to hold the socks on...
  12. I know when kelpiepupmum had Rosie the kelpie spayed she taped socks on her back legs so she couldnt scratch out her stitches easily

  15. turkey is really good!! I saw some for $1.99 a kilo so I got two turkey legs and 7 wings for the dogs.
  16. thanks pers i think he's doing it from boredom [being a young cattle dog and me just starting uni, he hasn't be run as often as before] but its led to a bit of compulsive licking. or possibly from a scratch he got from play fighting with our other dog. could arthritis affect a almost 2 yo dog?
  17. thanks kitkat. can i buy it from a petstore?
  18. my dog spot constantly licks certain points on his body. at the moment hes licked points on his left hand front paw and left hand back leg to red raw. he continues to lick them because they are now sore and red. what can i do to deter him from licking the points so they can heal up?? I have a bandage on his paw, but dont know how long it will last. any ideas? eta...the bandage is off already...
  19. i'd avoid buying fish from supermarkets that is imported. you just never know what nasties could be in it.
  20. I've decided its high time I put together a doggy first aid. But my problem is...what do you put in a Dog First Aid Kit??
  21. I tend to buy my meat from supermarkets or butchers in my area. Foodland for chicken carcasses and necks. Woolworths for lamb flaps and offcuts. Local butcher for bags of assorted larger bones. I spend roughly $10-25 a week, depending what I buy and what I get on special. Generally the veggies my dogs get are leftovers or scraps from human food prep.
  22. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My heart breaks for you and your rellies. R.I.P Lucy
