  1. My cattle cross does that and has a bushy tail. If I painted him light brown, he'd look like a dingo.
  2. Got mine and OH's yesterday. I don't think OH quite understands the Bokeh...neither do I really. Can any smart DOLers answer my questions? Do you attach the Bokeh right onto the lense? Will it work with a non SLR/DSLR camera? [i have a Pana Lumix FZ-28] Do you zoom the lense out or leave it in?
  3. I'm so sorry ILDD Way too young to be taken
  4. I have to agree, that's not a bad road...at least you can still dodge the potholes...
  5. My dog Peggie has all of a sudden become very fussy on what she eats. She is fed a raw diet, normally consisting of chicken wings/necks/carcasses/drums, red meat [beef or lamb] and normally eats everything with gusto. Lately she will only eat meat or small bones, and normally to get her to eat it we either have to cut it up small or 'play' with it. Or she will just sit there and guard her food. We have noticed that she isn't closing her mouth fully, just leaving it open about 1/2 a cm most of the time. I had a quick look in her mouth and couldn't see anything that looked wrong There have been two major changes recently. First she got desexed and two I started house sitting a few weeks back. Can anyone shed some insight or should I take her to the vet?
  6. From what I was told by a vet, 1/4 ounce of Dark chocolate per 1kg of body weight is a potentially lethal dose. So for a 20kg dog, 140g of dark chocolate is enough to kill it.
  7. from what I have read, too much bone and not enough meat can cause impaction of the bowel. I feed my dogs chicken necks on a regular basis and never have had an issue
  8. Either or. Maybe grab something to eat the let the pups out for a run. I'd love to meet peoples dogs [i love dogs!]. Whichever park would have the least people at would be best. Both my dogs are dog friendly [ones a little narky on lead but fine off lead]. My bitch Peggie is very dominant and isn't a big fan of bouncy dogs, but her growls don't normally escalate to anything [she's only got into two kerfuffles-with the same dog at two DOL meets over balls been thrown]. My dog Spot is fine and will probably lick everyone to death [attention whore], try stealing EVERYONES food and run around like a lunatic. Both are fine off lead.
  9. *pops in again* OH has had time off approved. So it is basically a definite that we are going on the trip and will be in Warrnambool on Friday the 2nd of October. Time is still unknown, but we plan to be there for lunch.
  10. I was thinking either Maslins or silversands beach...possibly Aldinga
  11. I'm pretty sure these are taken near each other. BTW. Ashanali LOVE the first one! Can you remember where about it was taken?
  12. OOOOOO Landscapes! I love landscapes...I have many that I like that I've taken Road from Menindee to Broken Hill [about 8am]. Taken out the window of a car doing 100kp/h! Road from Broken Hill to Menindee. [Taken through the windscreen] Top of the Gulf of St Vincent [6 shot panorama] Some from my new camera: Maslins Beach SA [5 shot panorama] Silversands SA
  13. That picture of Fern is gorgeous! She doesn't look 15.
  14. *slinks in* :D Just wanted to mention that me, my OH and our pooches will be travelling down the SE coast on the Friday of the October long weekend. We'll probably be stopping at Warrnambool for lunch and would love to meet up with any DOLers who wanted to meet up with me and my dogs. :D Will be able to give more details when we've planned more.
  15. It is 1/4 ounce of DARK chocolate per 1 kg of weight for a toxic dose according to my vet ie. 140g [approx 1 and 1/2 blocks of Lindt] of dark chocolate could potentially kill a 22kg dog
  16. Welcome to DOL I'm also another SAer and feed raw I would recommend getting a copy of dr billinghurst's 'give your dog a bone' book. I found it really helpful
  17. with the cattle dog-under 2 minutes, he literally inhales it with the terrier-5-10 mins, she likes to savor her food
  18. Im sorry for your loss. RIP nugget
  19. many supermarkets sell them either in the chicken section of the meat dep or in the pet meat section.
  20. Nope mine does that too. And the chucking up if I give him bigger bones. If I feed wings I kind of hold on to them till he starts crunching, otherwise it goes straight down Same with large pieces of meat. I have on occasion fed bits of slightly out of date steak to them and watched as $10.50 worth of steak was inhaled without touching the sides. Must be a stafford thing Sounds like my ACDX. He inhales lumps of meat too! Gagging sometimes isnt as bad as people think. My ACDX tends to gag a bit because he as eaten too fast, he will normally regurgitate it and then chew it some more. I say definatly try turkey necks! My two love them, and actually chew them before swallowing. Also a little bleeding around the gums isnt that bad either, he's probably just knocked his teeth a little on the bone and they aren't quite used to chomping on something so hard. Veal shanks are excellent to keep them occupied [although with my ACDX chews the meat off in about 15 minutes then the bone is chomped on for a few hours...and its all gone!]
  21. if you wants some info on green cleaning products, I'll dig up something I saved awhile back. It basically means you can cut your cleaning products down to about 6 items, including vinager, bicarb soda, bleach...and i cant remember the other ones.
