If they were a total stranger I would say no, particularly if they are of my own dogs as they are special to me. If they were someone I knew reasonably well online or in RL, I might consider it, but would put limits one what they do with the finished product. I would probably not allow them to profit off of paintings done from my photos, as like DMA said, I spent quite a bit on photography equipment and put a lot of time and effort into those photos.

February sometime. I am not relishing the idea of heading up to Pt Augusta in the middle of summer with our pooches in tow.

Well I have had a talk to OH and his mum. She WON'T pay for a photographer and OH said if I don't want to do it, he will. He's not the world's best photographer and sucks more than me at people photography.

Schnauzer Has Problems With Visitors.
Ravyk replied to slk's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I don't have much advice, but please stop trying to calm her down/tell her it's ok when she runs. What you are doing is actually reinforcing the unwanted behaviour of her being scared and running away. A dog cannot understand you are trying to calm them down, all they see is, 'if I bark and run away, they will pay me attention' and will continue this behaviour. Best thing is to ignore it, as hard as it may be -
I have the one just down from the FZ35, the FZ28. Great camera and almost identical to the 35 [except on the 35 you can film for longer] and its 10 MP not 12. The fz28 is a really good camera, and when I got it I literally just picked it up and started shooting with it. The menus are very easy to use and read too. 18X optical zoom, I think its also 34mm wide angle, shake correction, face recognition, subject tracking...lots of cool bits and pieces. If you are interested in some test shots I did with it, follow the link: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=172212&hl= The fz28 retails at around 700 in store but you can get them online down to about 450-500. Also you would be hard pressed to find the fz28 in stores now, when we bought ours, we got the last one in all the Harvey Norman stores in Adelaide save the demo camera.

How Long Can A Dog Go Without Eating?
Ravyk replied to chooka's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
A healthy dog won't starve itself. Serve the dog its meal and if he doesn't eat it after 15 or so minutes take it away and put it back at the next meal time. Don't leave food in his bowl. Keep repeating this until he gets the idea and starts to eat, shouldn't take more than a few missed meals. I did this with my dog when she was being really fussy. lilysmum has given some great advice -

Just looked in this part of the forum today love the pic of the little snakey. Is this a Palmerston Jungle? No, she's a QLD coastal carpet python

RIP beautiful girl Go play painfree and know that even if your owners didn't care enough for you, many a loving stranger has shed a tear for you. May karma come and bite your heartless owners on the backside tenfold.

The rice in Nutro is monsoonal rice from Asia. Keep in mind that the Nutro currently being sold is a different formula than when it was made in the US. Some dogs do well on it, others who used to use the original Nutro have been disappointed, so as with anything, it will depend upon the individual. Sags Yes, they use Asian monsoonal rice because they believe growing rice in Australia is unsustainable [which I have to agree with]

I'm feeding Nutro Natural Choice dry to my dogs [the lamb one] at the moment. They are liking it but I haven't been feeding it too regularly. I started a topic on Nutro a little while back...I'll see if I can find it ETA. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=179647&hl=

I can bring a clam pool or two to the next meet if it goes ahead.

Do you want some help (i.e. a 2nd photographer?) Let me know :D Andrew OH is going to be the 2nd photographer...I think, I'd ask you but the wedding is 1/2 hour north of Pt Augusta, so I don't really think it is too feasible to ask anyone to come up [since she is adamant not to pay for a photographer! It's going to end in tears...]

Poor bugger Peggie is definitely feeling much better with her coat stripped. You could also get the hair thinned out. Thinning scissors work well for this. Maybe you should freeze him inside a ice cube for the summer :D
-
If Pete has 'wirey' terrier fur, he could possibly have his coat stripped instead of cut. I'm in the process of doing Peggie. She has gone from long grey and white fur to short brindle and white fur. I am thinking about leaving her tail long [because I love it so much]

I'm not particularly impressed with some of the finalists, particularly for the 'close up' brief. IMO there were a lot better photos entered than some that made it to the final selection.

Thanks guys altheau & kyliegirl, thanks heaps for the CC. It really helps . I am quite proud of how it turned out, particularly since it was my first attempt at this style of art. Smoothiegirl-honestly I didn't notice the time go by, I was talking to a friend on msn during it, and a few times an hour or two passed without me saying a word and I didn't realise it until I looked at the timestamp in the conversation

Thanks! Will check them out next time I'm up that way. Rural Pet Foods at O'Hallorhan Hill used to stock it to. It's way out of my way so I haven't been there for a couple of years. If I were down south I would use them all the time though. Their range of bones and prices used to be great. That's around the corner from me, I might check it out next time I'm out.

Subject it too close to the window. The lighting appears very harsh and over exposing parts of the face. You can see the curtain. The subject seems to be missing half his head.

Yes I have also been lurking in this thread & threatening to do something very soon , however time is not my friend at the moment. Thanks for the reminder about shooting in RAW, Ripley. I also have a disc for my camera which remains in the packaging! My camera supports saving images in RAW & JPEG at the same time.... does anyone do this? Also, as regards to image size, do you mostly use large? Hope to have something to put up here on the weekend, but really enjoying this thread Ash!! I do. I prefer the JPEG form, where as OH perfers RAW. So we shoot everything in both, so we both have something to play with in PS. The only issue is it halves the amount of shots you can take and also RAW takes a little longer to write [thus longer time between shots]. I also use the highest image size possible. My camera does 10 mega pixel images. It's easier to shrink a large image than it is to expand a small image.

Same...if the bones are lucky to age!! Peggie will bury hers, and five minutes later Spot has eaten the whole thing!
