SOUTH Australia has stood in for many movie locations before, from Gallipoli to Mars, but in Red Dog the state doubles for somewhere a little closer - Western Australia. The $8.5 million movie, starring Noah Taylor and Oscar nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes, starts a five-week shoot around Adelaide today. It's the true story about the "red dog" of the Pilbara that roamed for thousands of kilometres during the 1970s, hitching rides in cars and on planes, and how it helped unite the industrial port town of Dampier. "This dog was no one's dog, but everyone's dog," said director Kriv Stenders. "He essentially united the town and became the town's mascot." Some big names, yet to be announced, will join the cast, but even the most famous will be upstaged by the real star, red kelpie Koko. "He's a remarkably intelligent dog," Stenders said. "He's ferociously focused." Stenders also made Lucky Country and Boxing Day in Adelaide. "The SA Film Corporation here has been fantastic and very supportive on my other films," he said. "We knew it was going to be too expensive to shoot the entire film in WA, especially up there because it's too remote." Next month the production moves to WA for three weeks.

Everyone above this post should be added into the list on the first page [2nd post]. If you haven't been or I've got your order wrong please let me know.
-
I have updated the first post and prices with the advice on Ptolomy. If people want to do a state by state order, that is fine with me. If not, I'm more than happy to continue to order for everyone. The order will need to be kept under $1000 to avoid paying import tax. [i don't think this includes the postage, just the price of the items but will double check] ETA. If you change your order please post a NEW post rather than edit the original post. I may not see the updated order. If I have missed putting your order into the list in post #2, let me know.

So who would be interested in getting I-squeaks? Isqueaks The current price for the balls on the website [not including postage] is: Small $2.95USD Medium $3.95USD Large $5.95USD The following prices will most likely be the approx price [including shipping but not postage] in $Oz. I will PM everyone with the final price once the order is finalised. Squeaks will be delivered to me and then I will then post them to individuals or if you want to save on postage a group of squeaks to a central location or for people in SA you can contact me and can pick them up. For postage around Australia a 500g postage bag costs $5.70 and with a medium i-Squeak weighing less than 30 grams I should be able to fit a fair few in each bag. 3kg bag is $9.90. [Yes I have stolen some of Ptolomy's posts ] I will put names and order numbers in the 2nd post

OMG!!! Me Wants!!

I have on the odd occasion, but they are used to odd meal hours already so, they don't tend to kick up a fuss. Although Spot will do his, 'come on, follow me' thing and lead me to the fridge.

I have jsut read the entire thread am am disgusted by what people have suggested, implied and said. Everything I could want to say is in these two posts re: brooke. Hugs to you. Sigh, some people are just cruel idiots who enjoy kicking people while they are down. +1 Some of the comments here have been uncalled for. Why not try a simple little exercise. Get off your moral high horses and put yourself in Brooke's shoes and walk a mile [or 10] in them. Imagine that it is your dog who has started snapping at your children. My god! If anyone posted just that, there would be an outcry of people saying to have the dog PTS because it's HA. For some reason because it is snapping at foster kids, she should get rid of them instead. They are humans too, and have feelings just like you do and your children do. Good foster parents are held in my highest respect, they share their homes and lives with 'broken' children and help them find a good path in life. She isn't taking the easy way out. She has explored options and is continuing to explore them. I have a feeling PTS is the LAST thing on her list. I pray that it doesn't come to that, but I believe if it does it with honestly be her last resort. Some of the stuff said on this forum disgusts me. It shames me to be associated with it sometimes. People need to get over themselves and realise that there is actually a real person sitting on the other side of the screen who has feelings and hurts at some of the cruel words said. I hurt for what people have cruelly said to Brooke in this thread. I love dogs, but boy do I hate the politics that seem to come with owning/breeding/showing/rescuing/fostering the four legged furries.

I recently had my MIL's dogs staying with us for three weeks. Both were grossly overweight for their size. One was a papillion X and the other was a mini poodle X shih tzu. Both weighed about 10kgs when they came. In the end I do not know how much they lost, but it was enough to make a real difference to their lives [and surprisingly to my MIL]. They could jump into the car by week two by themselves. While they were here, I fed them a diet consisting of a 50% raw diced kangaroo meat [leanest meat I could buy] and 50% mashed pumpkin mix for breakfast and 1-2 chicken necks for dinner. I worked out the amount to feed them by approximating their ideal weight [i decided on 7kgs] and doing the 2% of their body weight in meat from that. I then halved it to help the lose the weight. Mashed pumpkin makes a very good filler, it doesn't put weight on but fills your dog's stomach. Re. The becoming a breeder. What would be really helpful for you is to find a mentor already established in the your particular breed. You will learn a lot from them. Even though I don't plan on ever breeding, I have a mentor who is a breeder and I have learnt loads from her.

We use bicarb and vinegar to get rid of pee smells. I think you also need to address the issue of letting your sister's dogs in the house. It's YOUR house, not your mothers or your sisters, so they abide by YOUR rules. And if it means no sisters dogs in the house than so be it. You are not being mean or cruel by saying no and sticking to your guns. I definitely wouldn't want two non toilet trained dogs in my house, and I wouldn't care if I offended someone by saying that their dog wasn't welcome.

Funny you say that, I am just about to right a letter to someone that has to fill the same Bark diary out...I know they such but Councils are required by law to do it.. I dont agree but they are the rules. I dont know the situation, eg dogs temrement/ surrounds and all that. Maybe just keep nagging the RSCPA.. SOME ONE has to listen HOPEFULLY.. Right now we sleep in the spare room at the back with ear plugs. We can't afford to stay awake as we have to work. I suggest to council about putting on a voice recorder for the noise at night, then submit them as evidence. They said no, instead of a CD with all the voice clips and photographs and all, I have to DOCUMENT it black and white, their way. Now I don't even care about the barking anymore, we can always move to another room, that's a small matter. What I care about is that it such a torture for the dog to face four walls day in and out, I know I'd go crazy in a few days for sure. edit random spelling. Could you not record it and then detail the times it barks from the recording? Just make sure you jot down when you start recording.

I did think of 'future' but figured since the deed is now done it didn't apply and the 'effing' was more likely.. lol. LOL no its still FMIL...me and OH arent married yet

Thanks guys Re. the gallery, normally I would upload them to my website gallery but it's currently down as our server packed up a little while ago and OH hasn't got the galleries up and running again.

They are more so she can show people who didnt attend the wedding. I'm thinking 800x600?
-
Photos I took at my FMIL's wedding at the end of Feb.
-
My FMIL got married about a month back. For those who remember, she asked me to do photography but I declined on the fact I was the only one. She grudgingly hired a professional photographer and I did some amateur shots on the day. She has asked me to email some photos to her so she can show people, but I don't know what the best size would be, nor how many to send. I took about 100 of the ceremony and have edited 21 of those. I plan on printing out the 21 and putting them in an album for her, along with a CD with the edited photos on it.

Gorgeous photos! Love the ones in the park, particularly the schnauzer.
