  2. Well I am off to look at cameras today. I'm going to look at the 1000D, 450D and OH wants me to check out the 550D too.
  3. I know this is probably done to death, but I am currently seriously looking at purchasing my first SLR/DSLR camera. But...I HAVE NO IDEA!! I'm not really new to photography, but I am new to SLR/DSLR cameras. I have used 'point and shoot camera' most of my 'snapping' life and currently have a Panasonic Lumix FZ-28 for awhile now, and its still a great camera, I just want more lense options. I am looking for a few things, -mustn't be uber heavy, as it will come with me everywhere. -must have a wide range of attachable lenses [i want at least a macro lense, telephoto lense and a wide angle lense]. -something that has a reasonably easy menu and manual settings to understand.
  4. I only used content aware fill BUT I did it in sections, some of them probably have a hundred or so CA fill selections. The only one which took one 'fill' to remove was the fisherman. I definitely agree with you Possum Corner. This technology is great, but has very high possibilities of being abused.
  5. I work as a Deli Assistant at a supermarket. If done correctly there should not be any cross contamination. Hence why we use the inverted bag technique, we NEVER touch the meat with bare hands. IF you go to a place that doesn't use that, complain! It's against food safety regulations [at least in supermarkets] for people to serve meat with bare hands. The scales do get cleaned regularly. I know, because I do them every day, multiple times an hour. The reason you don't see them cleaned is because if you are there, we [the deli assistants] MUST be serving. They get cleaned, like everything else does when there are no customers around. Hands do get washed on a regular basis, with commercial grade sanitiser when NO customers are around. Now the reason why people tend to put the bag down on or next to the chicken when filling more is for a few reasons. Ever had a look at the bags? They are thin as and if you hold it suspended with a decent amount [more than 500g] the bag WILL break very quickly. Generally with chicken people are asking for at least a kilo or more. It is also hard to hold a bag with slippery chicken in it, in the air and still manage to get more in the bag without touching meat with bare hands, hence why it tends to be rested on other products. Our safety standards also dictate we are not allowed to serve customers wearing gloves. If it bothers you so much, ASK for the bag to be double bagged. I tend to double bag products which I have accidentally got marinade, or chicken juice on the outside. We are not dumb, we are trying to do our jobs to the satisfaction of our customers. If you have a problem, bring it up with the manager of the store that does the practices you don't like, we cannot fix mistakes we do not know about.

  11. “Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness and wisdom never decreases by being shared.” Jed, you are an amazing woman. Stay strong and keep fighting. Thinking of you and your family. RIP those dogs that died Magnus, please find your way home.
  12. If an auction takes place, I can donate up to a dozen bottles of red wine [mixed cab sauv and shiraz]. They retail close to $20 a bottle.

  17. I'm really sorry to do this, but I'm going to have to cancel making the order. Real life has got a little out of control. My partner has lost his job, so I am having to work more to support us both, plus other family issues have cropped up. When things calm down again, I may consider doing the order again, but for now I can't see it happening any time soon.
  18. ARGFH!!!! I knew I forgot something today! Hope everyone had fun! Sorry I missed meeting you Ash and Esky. I was really looking forward to it.
  19. Hi :D Just wanted pop in and say I started obedience this morning at the Dover Dog Club. Both Peggie and Spot graduated to level 2 obedience on their first lesson! Also we had our second flyball class, both dogs are really catching on well. :D
  20. Sorry everyone, just recently started a new job, obedience and flyball, so I have been quite flat out. Order has not yet been placed. Will update the list shortly.
  21. Why not make your own chicken stock? Just boil up a chicken carcass or two for a couple of hours until it has reduced a bit, pour into containers and freeze.
  22. It does take awhile for dogs to get their car legs. Spot initially hated car rides and was constantly carsick...even a 4 minute ride to the shops would end up with vomit in the car but each time it got longer and longer before the barf. It was about 6 months before he stopped vomiting in the car altogether. It was about the same time he finally got his car legs and stopped sliding around in the boot. He learnt to lean into the corners! He will also lie down in the boot now when he wants to, but he prefers to stand and look for cows.
