  1. POLICE dogs Jimmy and Sultan and their handlers were more than a match for two men arrested over after a break-in at Flinders University early this morning. Campus security reported two men breaking into vending machines at the university about 1.45am. Police dog Jimmy picked up the suspects' track from the vending machines and followed it to their hiding spot. The suspects tried to flee but were caught by Jimmy and his handler. They allegedly swung a jemmy bar at the police officer and threatened him with a knife, but were disarmed by the police dog. One suspect ran away after being released by Jimmy but was found hiding in long grass soon after by police dog Sultan. A Waterloo Corner man, 42, and a Semaphore man, 37, were arrested and charged with seven counts of theft, going equipped to commit an offence, aggravated assault with a weapon to avoid apprehension, being unlawfully on premises, property damage and breach of bail. They both required medical treatment for dog bites and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-a...3-1225906703287
  2. If she eats that then feed it to her. My dogs get RMB and meat. They will get pureed veggies, eggs and yoghurt occasionally when I have them/have the time to prepare them. They also get fruit, whole carrots, and whatever else I have to give them for treats/snacks. My dogs will not touch any type of offal [little princesses]. They are both extremely healthy dogs. You don't NEED to follow any diet to the letter. Do what is right for your dog.
  3. iltby has had her DOL account disabled. That is why her PM's aren't working. I talk to her regularly on msn/fb, and she seems to be going pretty ok.
  4. Wasn't so cool trying to detangle her from my neck strap! She'd wrapped herself around it so much I needed someone to help me gently pry her off. Then she decided to attach herself to the clothes horse by the heater She really makes my life difficult sometimes.

  6. My dogs are relatively amused with just tennis balls both being ball crazy and all! When it comes to other toys, I generally avoid pet stores as they are always over priced. Soft toys are bought from the op-shop and generally last a life of 3-12 months, depending on how much the dogs love them. The stuffing invariably gets destuffed all over the lounge once the holes are big enough. We do have a teddy bear floating around that is faceless. Squeaky toys, I buy good quality ones as the dogs will destroy cheap ones. I currently have a rubber duck [like the rubber chickens] and a giant tiger striped squeaky bone. The dogs don't always play with them, but are generally in the vicinity of where we walk, under a rug or towel just waiting for us to step on them and pierce our ears with a loud squeak!
  7. I wish! Would make things so much easier. "here fly fly fly, have some yummy, erm...poop!" Normally I just end up lying in a patch of the garden and wait for the bugs to settle down. Its amazing how many bugs are actually there if you stop and just watch!
  8. I have a Canon 550D and I have some very fine dust on the sensor of my camera. It's not affecting my photos but when I video at night I get spots of light in the video [as I found out on Friday whilst videoing some fire twirlers]. The camera has an auto sensor clean mode, but it isn't shifting the dust. I noticed it has a manual clean mode. Is it worth me trying to clean it myself, or get a professional to clean it or leave it as it isn't really causing a problem with my photos?
  9. I have the Canon 60mm macro. Iltby has the 100mm. I bought my lens second hand in great condition.
  10. No it isn't. There wouldn't be a particularly high amount of the toxin in a couple of spoons of chocolate cake because you have other ingredients within the cake. The lethal dose of dark chocolate is approx 1/4 ounce per 1kg of dog's weight. I know about 140g of dark chocolate is a lethal dose for a 22kg dog [mine got into that much but fortunately got to the vet in time].
  11. Go for it Sammie! It's a lot of fun. OH and I did it last year and had a ball! We only had a point and shoot camera then.
  12. Your welcome CM, my parents grew it when I was a kid, it was heaps of fun to play with. Few bug macros I took today
  13. The vine is called Potato Vine and comes in two colours, white and purple.
  14. thanks for the tip. I'm headed there in about a week and a half so will make sure mine are vacc'd before we leave.
  15. As Miss Squish said, she isn't Shar Pei, but was way over due in the pound. Yes I was using my 50mm for them.
  16. In that case I'd say its still a dominance thing, theyre probably trying to work out who is the more dominant male
  17. HUmping is a dominance thing, so maybe your male comes across as more submissive than your female?
  18. Another foster pup of Shar Pei Rescue.
