My boxer is 11 weeks old and was toilet trained no accidents from the 2nd week we had him. Now for the last week he is acting strange. He used to be calm at night, now he carries on, he is weeing inside ALOT. He is even weeing when walking . Im not sure if he was busting because he was walking to the back door. I know he is teething, he is chewing his bone away. But i dont understand this relapse in toilet training, and the carrying on he is doing. He runs around silly. I have tried taking him for a walk but it doesnt help. He gets plenty of exercise in the day too. Im hoping it kind of the terrible 2s or something. He is kind of defying me when i tell him to do something. He wont eat his dinner, he is feed Royal Canine, i add something from what ever i cook for dinner. i.e mashed potato, pasta gravy. It worked at 1st now he still isnt interested. He isnt sick, its just like he turnshis nose upto it. Is this just a puppy phase?

My point exactly, i am actually a bit surprised. I expected to get slammed for not adopting my pup from a rescue or pound.

I dont want to start an argument but who do you think you are? I did not have 100% intention to buy my pup from a breeder, i dont see anything wrong with a "backyard breeder" as ou called it. I was not IMPATIENT , i just didnt see the big deal in waiting for a breeder when their is nothing wrong with buying one from anywhere. The pup was vaccinated, wormed, and micro chipped. He is in good health as i am now aware it was his food i was feeding him that was his problem. From personal experience my aunt bought her 1st boxer from a breeder. It died a week later. My uncle has bought all his boxers from breeders. He has had 5 in the last 23 yrs ive been around. They all died. Not saying that its BECAUSE they were from breeders, but whats makes breeders different? And i do not agree with buying a pup from interstate. I was always told don't pick the pup let the pup pick you. How do i know ill get a pup with a personality i like from just looking at pictures? I actually went to see the litter i got my pup from 3 times before i decided to get him. Each time he was the one to come to me, sit next to me and not chew my hand when patted like the rest of his brothers and sisters. I had originally wanted a girl. But he won my heart. I had also looked at 2 other litters.

I am too just toilet training our new 9 week old Boxer. He to has his dinner at 6pm he always goes to sleep after that about 8-830 he will wake, poo play and then sook until bedtime at 1130-12pm. I stay up to wait for hubby to get home from work. He isnt a fan of staying up that late, last night i let him on my bed at 10pm because he was sooking and he fell asleep. He sleeps all night, but we wake at 7am so maybe its not really that long. If he does wake because he is on my bed i wake to him stirring and take him out. We have had accidents during the day but never at night.

He is having 3 meals a day, im just making them small at the moment so his belly gets used to it, i dont want him scoffing it all and pooing water again :D Good idea, i didnt know what to do with it. Hopefully it wont upset their bellies though His dinner is at 6pm, we dont go to bed until after 1130pm as hubby isnt home from work till then. So he is up with me , not that he is actually awake much though. He tries to lure me to bed early by sitting at my bedroom door looking at me He sleeps in our bed, it works for us because he whinges to get down if he needs to go toilet which wakes me up so we havent had accidents yet. Although he has slept through the last 3 nights :D He is meant to sleep on the foot of the bed but somehow wiggles himself up until he is next to me or between hubby and me. OH WELL.

UPDATE: Banjo is loving the Royal Canine, he eats and looks for more. I am not giving in just yet, he had a little more than last night but im taking it slow so he gets used to it. He has breakfast a small handful of Royal Canine, then another small handful for lunch and an another plus a bit of rice for dinner, although he is picking around the rice. Today has been 1 soft but not runny poo and 1 solid normal poo Much better then the 5-6 sloppy ones he was doing before. And i have ONE more question: We put advocate on him on Monday and i still find a flea or 2 on him, they are tiny tiny though. Is that normal or should he have none at all? Also is he ok to bath with the advocate on? When i had him on the excelpet it said water can stop it from working The toilet training is going great, he still has an accident if im pre occupied with the kids, but not very often. Once the girls are in bed he has his dinner and i leave our french doors open so he can help himself. He is doing well with that so far. Thank you all so much for all your advice, i am very thankful. :D :D

I didnt stop him from having dinner because he hadnt eaten anything since last night, she said to fast him to kill the bug. He doesnt and didnt have a bug, i took the advice of other here stating it could be the Bonnie as it has given their dogs runny poo and alot of them. I could tell he wasnt sick, he was and is active and happy. If he had a bug he would have the runs all the time, not solid then runny and be able to hold it all night. Ok, so now i know i will get my husband to give him lunch, and if he seems hungry when i get home maybe more then as dinner isnt till after 6pm, once my kids are in bed so i can watch him with out distraction to get him to go toilet outside.

UPDATE: He just had a small small handful of rice and a smaller handful of Royal Canine. He hasnt had any Bonnie all day. As soon as he was finished eating he pood. He does that EVERYNIGHT. Always as soon as his done he wants to poo. Anyway it was a solid poo. The most solid ive seen him do. Now i have no idea what it is, if its because he didnt have any bonnie, because he didnt graze all day, or because he had the royal canine  Although i dont think he digests that quick and can poo out what he had just eaten Anyway im going to keep him on the Royal Canine, Only give him breakfast and dinner. No more grazing. And see how he goes. Thank you soooo much for your advise i had no idea about any of it Hubby is a bit cranky that we paid $700 for Banjo a week ago and $40 on a wasted bag of Bonnie, $150 on a vet bill today and another $40 on a small bag of royal canine today. Which i am going to need to get him a big bag in a week or 2 which i $100. :p So, so far this gorgeous well worth it pup has cost us over $900 in a week. WHO CARES! I love him and i know hubby does too :p

OK so i just went out and bought a small bag of Royal Canine to test, i am going to givve him a tiny handle full for dinner tonight and thats it, he hasnt had any bonnie all day and hasnt had a loose poo since this morning. The royal canine say Prebiotics & Psyllium , actiflora. Hope this works. I really feel that he isnt sick , as i am typing he is having play time running around with his toys.

OK, So i took him to the vet. She looked him over and said it can be many things causing the upset stomach, the change food, change of enviroment or a bug. She asked if he is vomitting, he isnt. We explained he had been in the car for awhile while we drove to the vet so he had a dry nose which is usually wet. She said he has loose skin and a dry nose so he is dehydrated. I thought he is a pup isnt it meant to be loose, and i know if it doesnt spring back and stay scrunch then they are dehydrated but his springs back straight away. So we have to keep him off the food for a day, water only with LECTADE in it. To rehydrate him. Watch how he goes. Then slowly give him the food, little bit at a time. If not she has a whole bunch of needles and AB to treat a bug  Thats what i was hoping, they are skinny in the back end when fully grown arnt they? Nope no fruit trees. Well when we 1st got him i wanted him to have a breakfast and dinner BUT when we would feed him he would have a nibble then go away and then come looking for it again for another nibble, so we were just leaving it there for him too munch all day We are just feeding him Bonnie puppy now. What will this do? Will it settle his stomach? EDITED TO ADD: Other than sleeping alot, he is happy and active when awake. He looks good, his coat is shiny he eyes are clear. If he had a bug would he be able to go through the night without pooping?

I am taking him to the vet this afternoon as soon as i get home from work, he is at home with my husband now. He was vaccinated but he his card says he doesnt need another till 4th Jan 09.
