My mums cav has had quite a bad reaction, which has been diagnosed as a flea allergy. He was given a flea tablet a lovely bath and treated with frontline plus, he has a elizebethian collar on becuase he has scratched himself to the point where his back is bleeding. What else can we do to help this situation, he is still very itchey

Yes it will be, also I have been told that after she is done that she will gain weight very easily, im not sure how much truth that holds but we shall see.
-
Oh no definatly not, she was booked in for desexing but came into season again :D She is 5 weeks out from being in season so hopefully the vet will do it soon
-
I wish, everyone we spoke to about cavs said "You have to watch they dont over eat becuase they just love their food" I want my cavalier to love food and look just a little fat :D I see so many Cavaliers looking more than just a little fat. I'd much rather a trim, taut and terrific one And they all need different amounts - even within the same breed. Three of my girls eat a small handful of dry and a couple of necks but another needs two biggish handfuls plus the necks and she is still lean. True I have seen some FAT cavaliers which dont look so good, I guess im just worrying because she doesnt eat dry food which has all the nutrition in it

Hmmmm I do tend to worry because she is soooo small. Our stafford will EAT well hover anything that isnt attached to the ground, so Its hard to judge becuase they are complete opposites when it come to food

Thank you, do you use that everyday?

She looks great, has a full coat which is lovely. Her teeth are fine (I made sure the vet checked them out) she is happy, running around playing but is not eating. Honestly I am happy to give her what she wants but it is just NOT a balanced diet, which is just wrong for me to do on our part, she wont be getting everything she needs If she was to just eat the chicken necks, would she get all her nutrition and calcium etc from them and them alone?

She is 15 months now, she has always been fussy I took her to the vet tuesday because she is being such a cow, had bloods taken to see if she had an infection or anything because she finished her season 5 weeks ago, but it came back all clear...I have given her nothing and just offered her her food but she refuses to eat it, unless it is roasted chicken, lamb and she loves chicken necks but will eat NOTHING else. I have put a powdered vitamin on her food she will eat and then she refuses to eat that, so I have no option other then to make her take a tablet.
-
Can you give your dog a human multi-vitamin one with fish oil? Or is there a dog mulit vitamin in TABLET form, ( I have tryed vitamins in a powdered form on her food and she wont touch it) if so what is it called and where can i buy it. My cavalier is a right royal pain in the bum to feed, to the point where she wont eat. On recomendation from vet I have put her food down for 10 mins then taken it away and offered it to her the next meal etc to the point where she did not eat a single thing for 3 days I am at the point now where Im just going to feed her what she likes to eat, and give her a suppliment for her to be getting all her nutrition I cant let her go another day without her eating.....

Hmmm well she inclined to chew but I cant say definatly not. Is there any health risks if she was to ingest the wheat (other than interesting poo's )

Has anyone used these to keep there dogs warm, instead of buying a heat pad/mat? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

wow, I can add nothing except my deepest simpathy -
Thanks in advance for any information given. My cavalier bitch is having her second season currently on day 16 but I am very concerned because she is not eating She will have maybe 1 mouth full of food if I can even manage to get her to eat that, and even tho this has just been the last week or so she looks skinny. My question is Why wont she eat, she is still playing etc and drinking and Is there anything fatening yet full of nutrition I can make for her. Thanks

My pup has some staining under her eyes, I have had her to the vet and everything medically is fine. I was told to wipe under her eyes twice daily with just warm water which I have been doing for almost 3 weeks. My question is what can I use to lift the stains, considering it is under her eye, I am a little hesitant on buying something with out recomendations. Can U please suggest something that will lift the stains please, either medical or natural.... I have done a search but cant seam to find what I am looking for, thank you in advance

The breeder had her on the advance kibble that u soak in water. I have completly taken her off the kibble and just been feeding the BARF and her bowl is licked clean, so she is totally loving it On another thread here about home remadies it said don't feed raw egg because it contains bacteria, is this correct Your cavs are lovely :D
-
Thanks I was thinking of just going raw with her because that is all she will eat anyway, but I just dont want to do her any harm ;) I figure that if i go with the Dr Billinghurst stuff then as long as i follow the amounts then surly I cant go wrong. Any more suggestions u can give me for the BARF diet? Is there anything extra I should give her other then the pattie?
-
I have a 9 week old cavalier, and I have been giving her science diet but have also given her another top brand of food. My question is that no matter what type of Kibble i give her she will only eat the Dr Billinghursts BARF and leave everything else. I am thinking that why waist money on giving her the kibble to just waist WILL SHE BE FINE ON JUST DR BILLINGHURSTS BARF and meaty bones? Being only a baby puppy
