Can only hope lol! If she could have waited another season I would have fully supported her choice (if she hadn't come into season quite this early again she could have even had them this time around with my approval, seems she is a every 4.5 months girl!)

All I can figure is somehow she (or he lol, won't rule him out as the culprit) got a nail in the gap between door and edge and forced it!

Can I put up my hands tentatively for 2 litters on June 24, while I was busy with the planned mating a certain little tart actually broke a sliding door lock to get to the other boy!!!! Not impressed at all! When I can figure out how will upload the photo of the broken lock so everyone can scold me and remind me how blasted determined dogs in heat can be!

I was researching timing of breeding with given progesterone levels in nmols and I found the following link Breeding timing pdf I guess since Meg decided to stand and flag on day 1 even though her progesterone levels were definitely low, (checked by blood test) she must be a nymphomaniac :) I hope someone else gets a giggle out of it too!

Hmm, two dogs and a cat doesn't necessarily equal an animal hoarder, but if you have that feeling that something is wrong, go with it, you are the human parent and have to protect pup, I changed my mind about one of our buyers when I met them in person, all seemed good on the phone, but in person, something just didn't fit, never could work out what, my hubby pulled me aside after they just arrived and said to me that no way were they having a puppy, so he felt it too. Our agreement specifies that if circumstances change and we no longer have pup available to the purchaser, deposit shall be refunded. (In my mind, forever home not feeling right means pup is not available to buyer and thus gives me an out) You could mention that you don't think pup is suitable for their home anymore, that is probably right anyway lol Best of luck

Re: legal options, I'm not legally trained, but I am financially trained, it was always pushed never to offer advice as you are then responsible for that advice, I'm sure the legal profession is similar in that regard, so all I suggest is, consult with a lawyer, a specialist in the area if you can find one (not sure they exist to be honest, but they might do) Run free beautiful Buddy! Ha, back with our last litter I stopped by the vet, (without any animals) to pick up some more worming tablets, the receptionist knows us quite well, and was asking how the little ones were going, who was sold etc, just as I replied I had a blue roan cocker boy, currently 5 weeks old (at that time, changed my mind about the family I had picked for him) another person walked in, heard the last part of the conversation, and in a giant leap of assumptions flew into a long winded lecture to me about how a puppy that young should still be with his mother etc. I wish I could say that I calmly replied "he is" but sadly it was so bizarre that the receptionist and I just stared at each other laughing hysterically for a few minutes until I left. Was very entertaining though, and in one sense, the other lady was right, he did still need to be with his mother, which is why he was lol. Ruth

ANKC still has the 25 points after 12 months of age listed on the regs online for neuters? Unless they forgot to edit that bit lol!

Can I just ask has the ANKC changed the requirement for 25 points to be awarded after the dog is 12 months old rule regarding the champion award? This requirement seems to be absent currently, except for neutered dogs? Thanks

Ironic story - the most aggressive, horrid dog I have ever known was my mother's Australian Terrier back when I was a kid, we called him the Australian Terror, although his name was supposedly Boska (some type of icecream I believe) he was a bitey, barky, nippy annoying pain, and my mother loved him endlessly! After my mother died we rehomed him extremely carefully, giving full disclosure of his behaviour - in his new home, all those behaviours disappeared and he became an adoring lapdog for the rest of his years, obviously we just didnt suit him (no idea of the realities, I was a kid lol) So yes, size and breed alone do not necessarily predict or govern a dogs ability to cause harm Boska destroyed many of our socks over time with blood staining from literally biting our ankles Not sure about the comment that they should have never been told about the initial fail on the test - I would rather be given full disclosure but guidance that the dog may certainly pass the retest. highly assumptive - But I am thinking the way to get through to her is money - Show her how much that emergency c-section on a saturday or sunday night will cost, shw her how much she is up for if the bitch develops eclampsia - is she going to be the one feeding newborns round the clock because their mother cant do it? how much does she think she will actually be able to sell the puppies for? is that even halfway realistic? What if one of her imports can't be bred? is she willing to swallow that loss of money? Does she comprehend how much food an expecting bitch is going to want? it adds up fast! We have had two litters as such - Our first litter was a stillborn singleton, our second litter of 5 was fabulous, I am still nowhere close to breaking even, doubt I will ever be, my doggs are my hobby, they are where I spend my money - not earn it! I love my dogs, but they do not have any real income - even with a relatively straightforward pregnancy, whelping and raising, Our litter of 5, at $1K each, take away a grand for dna testing for diseases, another grand in vet costs easily (microchip, vaccination) feeding the litter? conservatively $1K, cost of the parents $2.5K, , cost of a good quality feed for the parents for a 12 month period? Don't want to think, but a couple K easily - so far, deeply in the red, and that is without expensive import parents that I would suggest would cost her more than she is reckoning on. What about the lost wages because she is sitting home waiting for the bitch to whelp / watching out for newborn pups etc, the cost of a substitute puppy milk if the bitch wont feed? And the fun part .... most - all of these expenditures have to be paid for before you get a cent for a puppy. Does she really have access to that much money? sadly if she does, you will find it hard to stsop her I reckon - puppies are a money spending activity, not a money making one - whendone properly (except maybe if you have humongous litters of extremely expensive dogs etc lol and even then, the heartache and lost sleep would be a destroyer lol) A lot of people have no idea how much demand there is for purebred dogs in some areas, but any breeder can tell them that there is no guarantee how quickly any particular litter would sell, way too many variables! My litter had families waiting when they were old enough to leave - some breeders much better than me still have puppies at 4 months of age - let alone cross breed / designer dogs etc, plenty of those everywhere! hmmm, would be interesting to compare the exact wordings of the rules in the different states, Tas states I shall not breed from any bitch kept by me causing it to whelp before it is 12 months of age and I shall not breed any bitch kept by me causing it to whelp more than twice in any 18 month period. I will not breed any bitch kept by me causing it to whelp more than 6 times without prior written approval from the TCA Inc Council. (http://www.tasdogs.com/ethics.htm) firstly want to make it clear I am not suggesting what I believe is right, or recommending it, or stating my practices at all, but according to this, if a bitch had her first season at 10 months old, you could breed her then, my girl has 9 month cycles (I suspect subject to change with a couple more girls on the premises now) but theoretically, I could breed her every season and still not be doing anything wrong, seems excessively lenient almost? Interesting points - does not specify a minimum age for the sire at all! does not even mention breeding to relatives at all? doesnt mention any testing etc... again, not my practices in discussion, just pointing out the marked differences between the states, if anyone else has the extracts from the other states for comparison, it would be good. I would avoid putting posters up at the dog park, if I remember correctly fromlaw office days, it is technically illegal (even though many people do it) but you could ask local shops etc if you can put up general warning letters without specifics, just a general, be aware of your (their) own dog, if there are any incidents such as xyz the proper contact number is police/council etc that could encourage anyone else who has had incidents to also report them, which, if they are the same dog, would definitely help your cause.
