  1. We have enterend Caboolture so we will see you up there. We will have a brindle greyhound 2 black and white border collies a sheltie x and a red cattle dog.... Interesting bunch we are. Yes focus will require lots of work and today we did a bit with another greyhound doing a course and we were doing other things and he stayed with me most of the time so great outcome.
  2. Yes I know what you mean I have watched a few but got very confused so thought the rules might help alittle. We are thinking of entering the Mt Gravatt one that is why we need to find out what on earth we are doing first... We have a pair if I can get my greyhound to leave the poor border collie alone......He just loves him and wants to play so focus is an issue and hoping we can get that under control before March! Are you doing Jumpers at Redlands on sat?
  3. Thankyou. I am wanting to enter to give my greyhound more exposure to the ring enviroment and to have some fun....heheheheh I don't think he would be able to join with you we have to jump 600! Good luck it looks like heaps of fun if you can work it all out!
  4. We are thinking of entering our first Strategic Pairs and Gamblers if we can work out how they are run. So any help would be greatly appericated please.
  5. so yet another dog doesnt go to puppy heaven That is what I was worried about cause he is a darling but I have just had enough of him out and about at 5-30 in the morning which sets my dogs off and I don't get very much sleep and the owners for a $6 battery can't keep him in it is just not on. The council were very good and said they like to work with the families of dogs who get out so that they can be returned and they did say that they don't rehome dogs that escape so I hope they tell that to his family and they do something about him this time to keep him in. The local highschool has had him impounded cause he was up there so they know that he gets out.
  6. Thanks guys. I was feeling really guilty about ringing the council but they have to keep there dog in there yard and if I can do it with all the foster dogs I have had over 6 years and my own greyhounds I can't see why they cant keep one fat dog in there yard! We had to change a few of our fences to make sure we never lost a dog because there were not ours and under going assessment and I can't run 60klms hour to catch a greyhound who has escaped so we were prepared it was not that hard. I would of hated to walk out my door to find any dog missing with the not knowing. I hope that he is home again with them making sure he is safe.
  7. Yes council came to collect him and the council lady was lovely. You can have your dog impound 3 times a year with fines every time a new renewal comes out the dog gets a clean slate. She said he would not be released until a full fence inspection was done this time and the fine is huge. Lets hope this is the last time I see him unless I walk past there place.
  8. I have rung the council they will be here today to collect him. Thankyou I have just emailed lab rescue and let them know he will be going to Logan pound as that is the shire we are now in.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if he was left there. Poor boy. Poor you. In one way I hope they leave him there so he can find a better home that will love him and spend some time with him and keep him safe. He is a sweetheart all he wants is to be with you and he wants to shake. I have not heard a peep out of him and he is tied up on the tiles in our entrance now (to hot out the front). They must of paid alot of money for him at one stage casue he is a pure lab and he is now desexed and is in good weight if not alittle over weight and he is a happy boy. Hoping the council comes soon. I wonder if they even know he is missing? Will check that out later when dog is not on my property.
  10. They have a normal acreage fence but he kept getting out so they put in one of those fences that has the collar so he cant get to the fence to get out....but if you don't put it on your dog it wont work.....and he has no collar on today as apparently the batteries are flat so they took it off according to there neighbours! You would of thought batteries are cheaper than pound fees!
  11. I totally agree. I would rather have someone call the pound to collect my dogs than have them running the streets or hit by a car. At least they would be safe. I have rung the council they are coming as soon as they can? Glad I am home all day!
  12. This morning yet again I have a beautiful black lab that is on my door step. He is a sweetheart but he upsets my dogs something shocking and he is out at least 2-3 week and I have taken him back to his place at least a dozen times. I have also rung there neighbours to come and get him at least 4 times (she knows them and I don't) he is alwasy out at 5-30 and I am over it. He is ment to have a boundery collar on to keep him in the yard as the council have collected him a few times and impounded him and they go get him out but still NO collar on to keep him in. I have him tied to the front verandah so I can ring the council to collect him at 8am....do I ring them or just take him home again.
  13. This is there website. http://www.thunderbirdpark.com/creek-side-camping/
  14. I know it was a big surprise to find you can take the dogs.
  15. I am so glad to that I found it as we are only about 20mins away and we can have a break and also take the dogs with us...They seem to be forever left home cause you can't take there here or there ect so very happy one so close and yet just far enough away for a change. Have not taken Yacket camping yet so will be very interesting...he is a good boy though and he loves his crate so all will be good.
  16. I just found out that Thunderbird park at Mt tamborine have beautiful camp sites which also allow you to take your dogs camping with you....yeah I have booked a long weekend in feb with hubby and our 2 greyhounds to have some time out. Didn't think it was to expensive $14 per person and you have to pay for showers! that is unpowered caravan site on the creek. And with all the rug rats going back to school the week before hopefully it will be nice and quite and they have NO phone reception up there so no pesky calls...
  17. That's what happens when you are only 20months old....You are full of go-go juice...
  18. Had a wonderful friend video Biscuit doing agility at home in preperation for his upcoming frist trial in Jan.
  19. Thanks for your wonderful replies. I am not so much worried about the zoomies it is the recall when zoomies is in play and with no recall there is potential for splat! as there is no fences at the trial. (wish I could bring my own fence) Biscuit is only 18months old so he is full of himself and not at all yet the layed back greyhound most people know. I will be having some wonderful friends come with me at the trail who will also be trialing and they are also going to be spotters for me if he decideds to do the zoomies they are on hand to grab him. I do love him doing zoomies when it is in an inclosed area, he is stunning to watch and quick but yes it is frustrating when you spend 8months in class 2 of obeidence cause you have no recall..........He is the entertainment in our club that's for sure.
  20. Thanks Skip. We have only had a few lessons in our club and he did go though the cloth tunnel with no problems if he didn't bang his head on the drum first! Hubby has built me all the agility equipement to practise at home cause had gets the zoomies at the club and you can't teach him anything. He still dose zoomies at home but is much better and he gets the jumping now. I have a proper club tunnel but didn't want to have to buy the cloth one as well but if I need to I will, but I liked your idea. Might buy a sheet and sew it together and zip tye it to the tunnel! I hope to also so agility next year but we are struggling with the weave poles. He can do everything else including the seesaw but the weaves?
  21. Thankyou for your help. I will set up a few of there layouts to give him some experience.
  22. I am entering our frist ever jumpers trial with my greyhound in Jan and I was hoping someone has some old or new layouts that we can practice at home! Also do they use the barrel tunnel with the floopy end? I don't have one of those but have a proper tunnel and he has no problems.
  23. For the right fiscal incentive YM I'll tell you anything you want to hear. If the pup fails to be a winner, I'll blame diet, training and socialisation. You'd be amazed how many owners you can guilt into leaving you alone. I've had the most incredible success telling puppy buyers that it's possible to socialise their pups too much. Its like shooting fish in a barrel. I don't dought it. Keep up the good work and I am voting also for best tread of the year!
  24. You need a Lurcher YM.. They tend to be Whippet/Collie mixes. Give me 8 weeks and I'll have some. I just have to source some dogs from the FTGH ads. Rock up in a nice car with a nice fake family and you walk away with the dog no worries. People do it all the time. I can't have one of those (Lurcher's) there are some of them already and I want a DD that is special with money no object. I am really after a greypoo collie and 8 weeks might be pushing it will I get it in time to do our frist jumpers trial at the end of Jan? Oh and you must have taught it how to jump poles and go though tunnels cause I dont' have the time.
  25. I have never laughed so much in my life and the sad thing is...is that people who don't know any better will beleive these dogs are out there! Oh can I also place an order. I love my greyhound but he dosen't have much hair and I don't want it to fall out much and I need something that focuses so I was thinking maybe a "Greypoo collie" that should do the trick! Oh and don't desex it or vaccinate it I will do that if I remember after I have made some money from the puppies she will have! You are a genuis Poodlefan.
