Yes they come in all sorts of colours. It does not seem that long ago since I took baby Alera to the whippet races and she had a ball chasing lures. Now she has her only little ones.

On Tuesday Alera gave birth to her first litter of puppies. She was a very good girl. She had 7 puppies all up 4 Boys (2 Black, Tan and White and 2 Creams) and 3 Girls (Two Blakc tan and White and 1 Domino (her mothers little clone)). Here is the happy Family. They are some Big babies for a little mummy congrats.

I did get some sleep. My brother dog watched for me overnight to keep any eye on her.

Alera gave birth to her litter this morning. Starting at 7am and going to 12pm. All went smoothly. Puppies are big and strong and eating well ranging in weight from 287 to 440 with most being over 400 grams. Alera was such a good girl having them hardly any complaints and so far is being an excellent mother. She had 7 puppies like the xray counted. 4 Boys 2 Black/White and Tan and 2 Cream and 3 Girls 2 Black White and Tan and 1 Domino like their mother. White Girl Blue Boy Red Girl

We had an xray taken today. They could count 7 pups hiding in Alera. One week and we get the meet them.

We did not get a count of puppies. There were a few to be seen in the ultrasound. I would say at least 6. She started showing very early on.

When I take photos of dogs at shows I crop the people out of the photos. Or really mostly just focus on the dog in the first place so there is not much to crop. I don't really care for photos with people in them and don't do it unless I am taking photos of friends kids showing dogs and photos of dogs with the judges and group wins. But each to their own I suppose and if people want themselves in their photos they are using for publicity then they can do what they like.

Here is my girl at 6 weeks. Poor girl still has 3 weeks to go and is already big.

Here are a couple of photos of Alera at 5 weeks. She has been off her dry food for the last week. If I mix tinned sardines in with it she will hover it down. She will also eat any type of meat given to her.

Excellent news Evolving!! I had the fun of cuddling and playing with some 4 week old lappies not so long ago now and OMG do they make VERY cute puppies :) Thanks I am very excited about it. She is only 4 weeks along and already is starting to get a little fat belly. There were quite a few little puppies hiding away in there.

Today I got the confirmation that my girl Alera is in whelp. It will be a first litter for the both of us. A litter of Finnish Lapphunds due on the 30th of November.

Sorry I can not come. I am hoping Alera has some precious cargo onboard.

I am very sorry for your loss LucyCharzie. Run free Charlotte my girls loved playing with you and were a little jealous of your ability to swim and retrieve the ball they wanted.
