Ideas For Ways To Bond More With My Dog
Evolving replied to FranVT's topic in General Dog Discussion
It has only been in the last month or so that Echo has really started to initiate more contact with me. She will come upto me on the couch and stay close for a while. When I first got her she would not sit on my lap for anything there is always heaps more exciting things to do. She is also quite happy to sit in the back yard and look at nothing to keep herself occupied but will come back to check in every once in a while. Bob on the other hand will not tolerate being in a different room from me unless he knows he can get to me. It is quite annoying at time. He is not really 'cuddely' either just likes to stick close. -

When is the Sunbury show? Echo is still a while from showing as I need to wait on heaps of paperwork for her to be even eligable. I live in Sunbury so could come give some moral support if you like. -
is the hide-a-squirrel toy very tough though? I've always thought they look a bit to easy to destroy. It seems to be pretty strong. Echo has taken to trying to chew it in half between the two holes and it is still kicking. Both mine were playing tug of war with the Squirrels last night with one having hold of the head and the other the tail and it did not break and Echo is not tiny any more so there was a lot of force in the game.

I don't know. It could be possible to fight as the evidence used is just one persons opinion about the history of the two breeds. It could be possible to find someone else to argue that they are not the same.

I have this one as well and while I have not used it much it is really good.

This week is a little different from me. As of this weekend I have let Echo sleep in my room with me and not in her crate. I have also had the need to put in a nightlight for her as she falls of the bed otherwise. And here I though dogs could see better in the dark. I wish I still had lightroom to make it look better. But alas no more fixing of photos for me for a while.

Dont be silly, Echo will get the hang of it in no time as will you. Just remeber to always be watching and learning!!!! Also get yourself to some handling classes if you have some locally, it is very helpful! Its like any sort of training all about reapatition! (sp?) I can go to the Bulla one as it is just down the road from me. The problem being I work at night time. It would be possible for me to switch my RDO from Mondays to Wednesdays and be able to go every second week. Something has to be better than nothing. I will miss my three day weekends though but sacrafices must be made. -

I don't have high hopes. I can not get her to focus on me at the best of times I may as well hit my head against a brick wall than get her to go around a ring nicely and stack without demanding pats or pulling away to visit strange people and dogs. -

Hopefully I will be showing Echo in the near future. I am just waiting on some DNA tests and for her to be put over onto the mains register. -

The medium balls are pretty big. Here is a size comparasin between small and medium using Echo as scale. Medium Small

My dogs are not obsessed with them. They are just laying on the ground now being ignored. I do seem to have lost one already but it will turn up again. Ok Echo really really wanted it back when it got stuck between the couches. As it turns out Bob is more than happy to play fetch the isqueak but I doubt be can actually squeak it nor has be tried. He just sees it as a bob sized ball.
-
Ok so maybe I have had the i-squeaks for a while but did not find them in the mail box until I put the bins out last night I swear I checked the mail on Friday. I gave one to the dogs today and Echo likes playing with it but is happy to run off and do other things as well. Echo also says it tastes better with sand. While Bob likes Squeaks I think for him they also need to be soft toys.

Yeah she is starting to turn into a big girl and get her adult fur in and it is all going weird atm. I think some of her ear hairs are spiraling.

Wow that us just so much better and easier than I have been trying to do.

This week in celebration of the return of football I have turned Echo into a cat.
