  1. We had a great day but I'm exhausted. Left home at 7am and got home at about 1/4 to 7pm. Lots of people by what I saw, lots of clubs ect.
  2. I'd have to say Pug too. There are pugs with titles in Agility, Obedience, Flyball and pugs that have trained or are training in Doggy Dancing and Tracking.
  3. Coming out of the woodwork. Puglvr, Pug (probably black) 9th Jan. Well it's official...... I am certifiable!! ;) My girl Haidee is in pup and due around the 9th of Jan. These October monsters will have just left home (hopefully) and the others will arrive. I don't need sleep! I don't need sleep! I don't need sleep! Do you think if I keep telling myself this it will work? At least I'll be on school holidays for the first 3 1/2 weeks. Funny I couldn't tell if she was in pup or not until today. I only gave her 1/3 of her dinner because she was going in for an ultra sound and after I'd cleaned up I looked at her and thought "Ohhh that looks like a baby belly." And yes the ultra sound was positive for babies- probably 4 or 5, but it's very hard to tell because pugs do not like to be made to lay on their backs.
  4. All my black babies are named after characters from the Big Band theory. Luckily (not) we had 4 boys, Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj and 1 girl Penny. But their names submitted are Keeper of Secrets, Keeper of Keys, Keeper of Kisses, Keeper of Dreams and Keeper of Magic. Funnily enough, the "keeper" of the litter is Sheldon and he is special.
  5. I had two GSD's break legs within a week of each other. One had a plate and screws and had to be confined for 4 weeks the other smashed he elbow into 3 pieces and had pins and screws and complete confinement for 8 weeks. Very busy and stressful time. The boy healed well, the girl still had a hairline crack after eight weeks and so had a further month of being confined. After that they wer both fine and active. Best advice, get a crate for the smaller dog (if You don't have one), but make it one that you can use for you boxer as well, especially when she's full grown. Dual purpose.
  6. I've just bought 2 bags of BH. I have for years fed Supercoat and have never had any issues with it - granted it only made up approx 1/3 of the meal. I fed supercoat because it was Aus made and also because it was the only dry food my GSD would eat. Anyway just lately I have found that my black pugs have avery noticeable red tinge to their coat. I is the undercoat and I thinnk it is partly due to moulting but also partly due to the dry food formula - I think they have introduced beet pulp into their food. I thought it was only me but another lady with pugs has found her boy has got a red tinge to his coat and he is on supercoat at the moment but usually has advance. I am hoping that the BH will help restore their coat's depth of colour. Any advise????
  7. Hello, just wondering if anyone knows what is happening with the Warnambool/Lady Bay shows normally held the last weekend in January? Couldn't find them in the Vic Dog and the shows don't even get mentioned in the Calender. I'm already peeved that Portland/Casterton weren't on this year. We need our weekends away... Don't we Ruralpug. Jane
  8. I have the cool champion ones for the pugs. I also have 2 crate/trolley mats. I have been using one for my bitch with pups at the moment as she tends to get hot of a night for some reason. She sleeps seperately from the pups and so I place the mat where she can sleep on it if she gets uncomfortable.
  9. Pups are 8 days today. Weight range from 420 -470g. Big fat black babies
  10. Ohhh Clover's little girl looks like a pug baby from that angle.
  11. Pug babies arrived early hours this morning. Two came naturally but one was holding up the works so the other 4 were delivered by c-section. Unfortunately one of the boys was stillborn. So 5 boys (4 live) and 1 girl. Reverse of her last litter.
  12. I had a Scottish Deerhound calle Skye. Lovely, lovely girl but didn't particularly like my pugs. Although we live on 100 acres she was happiest imitating a"turtle" (on her back legs up) on a couch or bed under the window.
  13. Ohhh Stop. Those shepherd pups are killing me tooooo beautiful.
  14. My pack minus Jack and my GSD Buffy. Actually thay are not all mine, I had some family and friends boarding as well.
  15. Congratulation Sonia and Karen and Toby on the BIS. On a good note, thank you the G&DKC Committee for two great shows. It was lovely to be able to set up ghazebos and relax and enjoy the show Rings were good and I really didn't notice the public straying into the rings. I had two lovely days. Thanks :D
  16. Hi This is what I feed my pug babies and the diet they are sent home with. BREAKFAST: ¼ - ½ cup of moistened Advance Puppy Rehydratable ¼ - ½ cup of mince meat Mixed with warmed puppy milk ** wean off lunch at approx, 4- 6 months of age and give dog biscuit instead. (If desired) LUNCH: ¼ - ½ cup of moistened Advance Puppy Rehydratable and ¼ cup can puppy food or small pieces of cut up dog roll –eg “Prime ” puppy roll TEA: ¼ - ½ cup of moistened Advance Puppy Rehydratable ¼ - ½ cup of mince meat ¼ - ½ cup mixed vegies (minced in blender) with rice or pasta Oil to mix ** These amounts are a guide only – food needs to decrease/increase to suit the growing requirements of your dog.** ** Puppy Rehydratable may be substituted for another good quality puppy food such as Advance Growth or Super Coat Puppy when your puppy is older.** ** If you find your puppy doesn’t eat the whole amount cut it back slightly and increase accordingly** ** Natural Yoghurt can be added to pup’s food (teaspoon) to help with upset tummies** ** Give Apple Cider Vinegar (1/2 – 1 tablespoon depending on size) once or twice weekly. It is good for blood circulation and joints and muscles. SNACKS: Dog biscuits –Super coat mini Medium Carrot Apple – or other fruit not grapes –start young and let develop taste BONES: Are good for teeth cleaning and jaw exercise. Marrowbones cut in half provide enjoyment for dogs. Never give your Pug a bone small enough for it to swallow- bones the size of lamb leg bones or beef legs and ribs are ideal. Discard old bones that may splinter. NEVER GIVE COOKED BONES. VARIETY: Sardines, eggs (cooked or just the yolk), grated cheese, left overs ect, in small amounts can be added to your dog’s meal to give it a bit of variety. SUPPLEMENTS: 1/8 teaspoon of KELP/SEAWEED or LIVAMOL 1/8 teaspoon of raw Wheat germ 1/8 teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid (VIT C) 1/8 teaspoon Flaxseed meal or oil (Increase amounts to ¼ teaspoon by 12 months) Liquid Chlorophyll is added to the pup’s water. These are natural supplements we use just to be sure our dogs are not missing anything.
  17. Thanks Narelle, Haven't got number yet. Are the rings going to be set up like the last show?
  18. When I have my pugs back for holidays I charge $50 per dog a week so about $7 a day. Just make it clear to your friend who will be liable for vet fees if anything happens to the dog.
  19. Yes I get very upset when I loose a baby. Ohhhh, want more pics of shepherd babies...... my last baby is 10 years old. Not so much a babie any more.
  20. Hi Sharon, what are your numbers? Are you going the BM? We are only doing Ballarat. Lyn's in Queensland so it's only me and Anne.
  21. So my next question is..... Were the rosettes for Challenges, Reserve and BOB awarded for all breeds? Or did they only give them to breeds who did not have awards donated by Breed Clubs?
  22. I am wary of English Toy Terriers ever since my boy was attacked whilst waiting to go in the ring by one. He was sitting at my feet and the ETT walked passed lunged and grabbed him him on the face. I should have reported the incident but honestly I was so shocked and concentrating on lessening the impact of the episode on my dog that it didn't occurr to me until we were on the way home.
