  1. I used to breed GSD and they are special to me. But i love my pugs. It would be lovely if my boy was "up against" yours because Beau loves Buffy and it gets him up on his toes. I believe there is 5 pugs eligible and hopefully all five will be there.
  2. Hi Sway, Where do you get your card from?
  3. Me too with my black pug. Is your GSD in the POY or DOY?
  4. Hi all you hard working show secretaries. I need to know where to source pre-cut card or pre-printed cards for exhibit numbers. I'm looking at the "Whelping Supplies" one from Western Suburbs and it seems an ideal size. Also what size do people normally get.
  5. Glad everyone is okay. Good thing I left the spares hey. I must be psychic........... no Ange and Sharon not psychotic, psychic
  6. MM you could try the local radio stations Bay FM and KRock they may be able to do a lost dog Bulletin. hope she is found soon
  7. 7 months old she must have come in season around 5 months, is that something that is normal for Tenties. I had a pug girl come in at 5 months and then every 5 months.
  8. Yep Rural Pug and Rhonda were suffering the effects of the heat. I wasn't feeling all that flash either but I did drink at least 3 1/2 litres of fluids so I wasn't dehydrated. The thing is we spend so much effort keeping the pugs cool and comfortable that we tend to forget about ourselves. I pulled the pin today when the forcast said humid. Pugs can do a certain degree of heat but not humid.
  9. Try googling Cerebella Hypoplasia, Like Cerebral Palsy. We had one like this that we attributed to oxygen deprevation at birth. Also know of 2 from 1 litter who are being observed by a top neuro specialist and he is stumped as to what caused it.
  10. I feel your pain. Here is a doozie, this year I recieved an entry from an experienced exhibitor. I do the catalogue as well so when I was cutting and pasting I realised that 2 dogs had the same registration number. How did I know this, because it was the same the previous year and was never corrected because the people where travelling and so one number appeared in the catalogue as XXXXXXXXXXXX? So these dogs have been exhibited for a year with the same number and no-one had picked it up.
  11. Don't get a Pug if you only want 1 dog ......... they multiply very quickly! Do get a pug if you want unconditional love for the rest of your life. But beware... your heart will be broken.
  12. I have to agree with jrm88 wholeheartedly. We have lived on our farm for 22years. When we moved here it had a heavy flea burden. We have used Frontline now for probably 18 years or so. We have 14 dogs and cat and don't have a flea problem. Never had to flea our baby puppies and we only use the Frontline over summer or when we need it.
  13. I would wait until she has finished her antibiotics. I had a girl who was on AB's a C section and she was fine.
  14. Hey ange What's your number for the show. My first is Beau and he is 65. Early start.
  15. Beautiful pics of some lovely babies. Are you sure there's not some pug in those pups Angelsun because pug pups sleep like that. Well my little ones are 4 weeks now and today they had their first taste of meat....... and they loved it!! Little Hamish is coming along well (touch wood) hopefully he is over whatever was the problem and will just keep forging ahead. His new owners cam to visit/pick him today and he is a birthday gift for a youn 12 year old boy who has always loved and wanted a pug. His name is Ryan, so I think Hamish is going to be one very lucky boy. :D
  16. If he has an undescended testicle, yes he will probably need to be desexed. as for the cost, well my boy had one and it was speculated that it was in his abdomen and that it would cost more for the surgery. Longer operation, maybe need for fluids, extra pain relief all reasons for extra cost. normal male desexing is pretty quick and straight forward, unlike female surgery which is abdominal surgery. So yes it probably will cost more, however you won't know this until it is done, because he could be like my boy and it was just sitting outside the entrance to the testicle- just hadn't dropped. It cost the same as a normal desex. Speak to the breeder.
  17. Yes it does take that long because they critique. However I do think they should start Group 1 earlier because there is 170 dogs in group 1, and group one normally has a big entry anyway. so everyone will be finished and standing around tapping their feet waiting for group 1.
  18. My GSD Holly, had a hugely swollen spleen that was removed suspecting cancer. It was tested and came back as an overwhelming bacterial infection. This was 4- 7 days after she was vaccinated. She lived for another six year in exceptional health.
  19. Well the vets are totally smitten with him. He had another round of barium x-ray and ultra sound today and their considered opinion is that he does not have a diaphramatic hernia. Apparently there are 3 types and his x-rays weren't indicating that the abdomen contents were moving up into the chest cavity. So that is good news. Better news is that he is feeling much better in himself. He is alert and playing with his brother getting up on all four legs and trying to have a walk. So it looks like he is on the mend even though we don't know what was wrong. The plan is to just see what if anything develops as he grows and take it as it comes.
  20. We are not quite sure at the moment but he could possibly have a Diaphramatic Hernia. He went in today for x-rays. He had to have barium and a series of x-rays to see if the henia shows up. They couldn't get a conclusive result so are going to do them again tomorrow and an ultrasound (all at no cost). They put a catheter in just in case he needed sedation ect, and he fainted and scared the life out of them. So they decided not to take the catheter out so the don't have to put it back in tomorrow. He is feeling much better than he has been and actually had a little bit of a play with me yesterday. So they will do more x-rays tomorrow and if they aren't sure they'll send the x-rays to a specialist.
  21. My poor little 3 1/2 week old boy. He has a catheter in under the bandage, poor little man.
  22. Does this explain why my boys and sometimes the girls seem to be horny after eating?
  23. Ohh god I can relate to that. My pugs do all sorts of weird and wonderful things and make some very funny noises. We call that the "wooo wooo's".
