You could try googling "Airport Farm Stay" It is literally 5 min from Bulla at a Harness Stud called Pine Lodge Stud. They have rooms inside the main house but ask for the Cottage, I think you may be able to have the dog inside. Airport Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast 210 Oaklands Road, Oaklands Junction VIC 3063 (03) 9333 1296 ()

I have always been a GSD person and my husband hated them with the passion of a farmer who had stock killed by GSd's. But we moved in next door to a breeder and after a while he was converted and bought me my first boy "Uff". He bought home "Errol" who was supposed to be for his mum - it was not love at first sight but it only took a day for him to win me over and then it became an obsession.

Hi would love to know Pug results when they've been judged if any. A friend has a pug just points off his Grand - Hope he gets a 25 point BOB.

A pug fits the bill and not all pugs shed to the same degree.

Lepto is usually found in country ares or where there is a rat population. Rats secrete it through their urine. Cows contract it through eating contaminated feed. It causes abortion storms in cows. It is passed through the cows urine to humans through inhalation of very fine droplets or through cuts on the skin. Causes problems with the liver and also quite bad sickness. I know because my brother is a dairy farmer and caught it from the cows. Made him extremely ill and if it had of lodged in the heart it would have killed him. He was admitted to hospital with temps of 41 degrees. Not sure about transmission in dogs ect and its effact on dogs.

We refer to our pugs as our "children". Our friends and family refer to them as "The Children" as in "Where are the children? How are the Children?" Even though we don't actually think of them as actual children, they are our family. They are dogs and are treated like dogs but We love them as we would love children. We love them like we love members of our immediate family and our extended family. They are cared for with the same dedication that we would afford children. Many people say I look after my dogs better than some people look after their children and this is true. My sister also says she would like to be reincarnated as one of my dogs. You can't quantify or put restrictions on what Love is. We have a huge capacity to love, whether it be our OH's our children, the family we grew up in or our pets. We can love more than one thing/person at a time. I think sometimes people refer to their dogs/pets as their children as a way of expressing the depth of feeling they have for them. Otherwise, why do we greive for them so deeply?

Separation Issues - New Pups . Some Discussion...
puglvr replied to persephone's topic in Puppy Chat
One of the things I always tell my puppy owners is to leave them by themselves in their pen for a period of time every day. They are used to being without human companionship before they leave home. They spend time by themselves (albeit with littermates) and are used to being confined in a puppy pen - while alone and when we are home. Just recently a new owner was telling me that she had to leave her pup in the pen and go out for half an hour. She was worried that he would cry ect. She had painters working outside and when she got home they said the pup didn't make a sound. Early routine from the breeder I think helps establish settled well adjusted dogs - (if followed through by new owners) -
What sort of bottle are you using. I have fed 90 gm pug pups with a premmie bottle and teat. i didn't believe they would feed from it but they did.

Heath Concern For New Doggy!
puglvr replied to HugoDoogoEbblePebble's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
No need to panic about it . You know the signs to look for if she starts showing signs just off to the vet. I had 2 weeks of liquid poo. I had my old girl and my GSD on Flagyl but it went through all of them. Then I got sick and had 5 days of diarrhoea, doctor put me on the same medication as the dogs. Everything going fine until one morning more diarrhoea, so samples into he vet and yes he suspected Giardia and the found a spore in the faecal float. all dogs on one week course of Flagyl, second course for me and water tanks treated. hopefully all is good now. Four weeks is enough. -
My pugs are, Flynn, Elyse, Ted, Misty, Poppy, Sally, Elly, Archie, Beau, Haidee, Milly, Ivee, Jack and Holly My GSD is Buffy. My sister has a Doberman named "Barry Alan" the thing is I know a man named "Barry Allan" and she rang me up one night all distressed because "Barry Alan" was really sick and couldn't understand that I couldn't work out how she knew "Barry Allan" was sick.

I also spread my meals out from 7am 1:30-2:00, 6:30-7:00 and them some warm milk and mince before bed around 10:30 I also feed a variety during the day. Rehydrateable/Mince for breakfast, Dog roll/sometimes can for lunch, mince, vegies, rice for tea. I use cooked meat juices from our meals over the foods at times just for variety. This way we don't end up with fussy eaters. and if their teeth are still coming through they may have sore mouths and not feel inclined to eat.

do a search on ebay for Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM and you should bring up a product by Nutri...science. They have a formulation for dogs. Much cheaper and use less.

Yep, pugs have titles in Agility, Obedience, tracking, ET, Flyball and Dances with Dogs. Not bad for a breed who can't breath, walk or whelp ont their own. But hey, what would us breeders know. And just for the record, at Noorat on the weekend the judge commented on my dog's lovely open nostrils, "just like your others". Must be doing something right.

You can't use protexin with some antibiotics so yoou may not be able to give it to mum. I had the same thing happen with my babies. Mum started losing pups at 7 weeks and she mananged to have 2 delivered by c-section almost at term. She also had to be de-sexed because of the state of her uterus. She was on antibiotics to prevent infection so the poor babies had very liquid, yellow sticky poo. One boy was much worse than the other. I found smearing their legs with a thin smear of vasaline helped prevent the poo sticking, and also around their bums and up the underside of the tail. Baby wipes were very effective in cleaning the babies - get thick one that are pleasantly scented. Encourage mum to clean- my girl was obsessive so that was a great help. One little fella developed quite a sore/scalded bum so we used sudocream around that and it helped greatly. My vet's advise was the same as yours, as long as they were drinking okay and were hydrated they would be fine. Pug puppies are very, very small and probably the only way I could have given them protexin would have been in the paste form. Just a drop on the tongue. I found when I have used the paste I needed to put it into a smaller syringe to get an accurate dose.

Minimax I believe you have a pug and it is generally accepted among pug circles that you don't give pugs the annual heartworm as they are one of the breeds who can and do have serious reactions to it.
