  1. I've just listed this in the Accomodation Section. Accommodation Name - Airport Farmstay Location - Bulla, Vic (210 Oaklands Road, Oaklands Junction) Contact Details - 03 9333 1296 Web Site - http:// Type of Accommodation - Other Details - Bed and Breakfast Rooms and Small Cottage. Rates Vary. This is part of a Harness Racing Stud (will be phone message) Room to excercise dogs. It is literally just minutes from the airport and "around the corner" from Dogs Vic Bulla Exhibition Centre. Ideal place to stay for those shows at Bulla. We stay here the night before our Pug Specialty. As we are Committee members it saves us having to be out of bed at 4.30am to be there before "the maddening crowds".

  3. We have an oversize min pony named Sweet Pea. My sister had a Dobe named Bob and the one she has now is Barry. I have Flynn, Ted, Elyse,Elly,Sally, Misty, Poppy, Archie, Beau, Haidee, Holly, Jack, Ivee, Millie, Sheldon and a GSD named Buffy. My husband has a cat called Mrs Black and White.... But she is not black and white, she's white with tabby patches.
  4. Thanks Mjosa. Know the cooking part and the dosage but not size of the piece of liver. It's for a friend and the liver is coming tomorrow. Apparently the liver is quite big so didn't know whether to use it all or just a portion and freeze the rest. The pup had a little bit of a set back and didn't want to feed yesterday. However we got her feeding with gusto and she is feeding well every two hours and has put on weight. Will go ahead with the Beef liver tea just to give her that extra boost. Thanks again.
  5. Just wondering How much or How big a piece of Beef Liver do you use to make Beef Liver Tea? Also do you bring it to the boil and then boil for five minute (until the blood runs) or boil the water before putting it in.
  6. I have a girl pug who had a partial prolapse and her eye went back into position with gentle pressure. The second time she received a knock to the eye and it prolapsed out further and needed surgery to replace the eye. Obviously the nerve was damaged and so she has no or very little vision in that eye. The vet said it was the surrounding muscles and ligament that were the problem not the eye socket itself. She does not have bulgy eyes. She is twelve and a half. She was from a natural mating, her mother whelped freely. She herself had two natural matings and whelped freely. She is the only pug of 18 that I have owned that has this type of injury. Yes I have had eye injuries with some of the others. Most have been "minor" and treated with medication. A couple have been more severe and needed surgery and "aggressive" therapy to save the eye. The eye specialist has said that my pugs have very good eyes, being nice and tight and not bulging. I always tell my new puppy buyer that the most important thing is that they know their pugs eyes. Know what is normal and at the first sign of any abnormality, off to the vet straight away. I have found that most injuries occur when they are young and go like a bull at a gate. My pugs all live together and have free run together (which is how they like it) and I accept that this is possibly why some injuries occur. There are problems in the pug breed. There are problems in most breeds. There are no quick fixes. I must be one of the lucky ones who just happens to own 15 pugs at the moment who range in age from 1 through to 14. All products of natural matings, for the most part free whelped, no major health issues.13 from the same bloodlines, 1 totally different line and 1 rescue.
  7. Anyone know whose Pug? Please and Thankyou.
  8. Have you seen an eye specialist? Some times it's not he lack of tears lubricating the eye but rather The quality of the tears.
  9. Yes I am, for all the reasons already stated.
  10. As a pug breeder I would advise you to ask the Breeder for his/her Diet Sheet and then go from there. As a breeder I get very annoyed when buyers for whatever reason, change the pups diet. i have seen first hand the negative impact that not feeding the right diet can have on pugs. Some people seem to believe that because they are little dogs they don't need as much care with their diet. It is also frustrating to see them at 5/6 months looking all skinny and underweight because the vet said they were too big.
  11. Is that they boy? If so he is beautiful. Could you make up the Leerburg formula and use it as the liquid part of the mix if he likes it? High in calories.
  12. I have used a human premie teat to feed very small pug babies.
  13. Thought it was just us. Our mail can be dodgy at the best of times.
  14. I'm just wondering what people think the "ideal/right" weight for a pug should be. Definitely not 14kgs. As for vets not informing owners- I can only go by experience but on more than one occassion I have had to tell my puppy owners that they need to get some weight on their pugs. Pugs are not meant to look like racing greyhounds.
  15. I have had better results from Protexin best place to buy it price wise is K9 Direct on the web

  17. Sorry I meant Cheque!
  18. Yes got mine yesterday. Have you checked to see if your checks gone through?
  19. I take my pug boys to a Bowen Therapist. One has issues with trigger points and the younger one (will be 1 this month)had a loose tail and was down on his pasterns. She made comment that he was very soft in his muscles and ligament/tendons and recommended I put him on Blackmores Vitamin C to help with the formation/strengthening of his connective tissues. Havd had him home for roughly 4 weeks now and there is a noticable differencea - e has put on weight, his tail is not loose and he is coming up on his tendons.
  20. I had a little one who appeared to stop growing at 4 weeks. She had a neurological problem something like Cerebral Palsy. She grew at her own rate and lived a pretty normal healthy life with me.
  21. x1 What dancinbc said. You should always have a receipt. My pupsa go with all the above mentioned things plus a Contract and Receipt. Being a Breed club secretary it is amazing the ammount of people who ring and want advice about dealing with the breeder thay got their pup from. Invariably, they have no papers, no receipt, and no idea of the breeders name. I always tell anyone who rings looking for pups to make sure they receive receipts.
