We did a tour in Italy and it was fabulous. We also stayed in the South of France to visit mmy niece and that was loovely too. Disneyland Paris was a let down but we did enjoy Paris. We had 4 lovely days in Ireland. We enjoyed Dubai but it is no way near as lovely as Europe.

I went there this year too!! Everything Pax said. However we flew with Emirates and had 40 kg of luggage + 15kg of carry on thank God. I was away for 5 weeks so needed it. Save, Save Save and then you'll have plenty of money to spend. We stayed at the Arden which was a 5 min walk. Plan on having just one day for shopping, I did and I was exhausted..... but happy. If you want to buy collar ect make sure you have your dogs size ect. Everything is airconditioned and we even found that the hotel rooms were too hot. We actually slept with the window open and just a sheet. We spent time in London and thoroughly enjoyed that. We went on a couple of day trips to Stonhenge, Windsor castle ect. Just enjoy

Bulla Autumn Extravaganza... Results :)
puglvr replied to capanash's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hope everyone is having a lovely time. Pug results please any one -
Well I register all my puppy's on the limited register. Sometimes if I know there is a least one pup that I am going to keep I will register that on the Main. Like my last litter I knew of the five black girls I would be keeping 1 so she went on the Main. I have also on at least one occasion kept a pup after I sent the paper work in. No hassle just transfered him between register. No big deal. That does not make me a bad breeder. However, having just taken over the role of Secretary of our Club I find it amazing the number of phone calls I have had from people who have bought pups not knowing that they are entitled to papers, that all pups have to be registered if bought from a registered breeder and there are Main and Limited papers. I am stunned that people will buy a pup andnot know the breeders full name, address, Kennel prefix and registraion number.

How To Tidy Up The Endless Supply Of Doggy Stuff ...
puglvr replied to Tilly's topic in General Dog Discussion
We built in our carport to make a 5 square room for our dogs. It has a built in cupboard thingy that houses the hot water service and also the bins for dry food. It also has their dyson vaccum cleaner and spare bunnings pens, and two shelves for bed covers and miscellaenous stuff. It has a "half walled room" that was supposed to be the "whelping puppy area but is actually the GSD bedroom and two lock-up pens for isolation and bitches in season. They have a kitchenette with fridge, microwave and sink. Two underbench cupboards hold the towels and a container of biscuits, one cupboard has the used (washed ) meat containers. Under the sink are tubs holding shampoos and diswashing stuff. One cupboard with the dog dryer and spare bowls. They also have their hydrobath next to the kitchen. There is a phone in the room and a tv and radio. In my shed we have a washing machine for the dogs. The dog trailer with all the stuff for shows strored permanently in there. Shelving for crates, whelping box ect ect and there is even room for the car. In one of the spare rooms I keep all my show stuff like collars, bag towels, and also all my whelping supples and toys. Their day to day leads are hanging on hooks near the front door. The laundry has a freezer for their food and about the only thing in the pantry is their good O's. -
Well Done Little Hoot and Lola who won BPOB. My little black girl won BCC for 20 points and was RUBOB and JOB and her half brother was IOB. Way to go Millie

Yes 8 o'clock would be fine but we only live about half an hour away and we probably won't get ther until 10- 10:30. Our first number in dogs is 142 and that is Int. I would check with the Secretay when you get there because our youngest girl is in Minor puppy bitch and her number is 154?????

That is hugely interesting. I have a female black pug who has these spots. And she is not a good black colour, she actually is lacking in pigment and her grandmother would be classified as chocolate by those who don't know bacause of the same lack of pigment.

I advertise in the TP and have for a number of years. For all the reasons previously stated. I also have a waiting list but sometimes my pups don't fill the requirements eg. all black litter but buyers want fawn. In the additional comment part I state why people should buy from a registered breeder. Having just recently taken over a secretary og our breed club I am shocked by the lack of knowledge the general public has. I have had people ring me and say, " I bought a pup from ??????in ??????. And that's it. No surname, no papers, no idea of the prefix. Or people who have bought pups from a "registered breeder" but no papers and they aren't aware of the fact that all pups have to come with papers in Vic. I am now considering overhauling our info on the website and advising people to make sure they have the breeder's name in full and their VCA registration number and prefix before thay go any further with purchasing a puppy. You would also not believe the number of people who do not have a reciept or a contract of sorts.

Advice Please...puppy Apparently Dead After Illness
puglvr replied to Rubric's topic in General Dog Discussion
Under the law puppies that come from commercial breeding practises have to be microchipped. That is pet shops and registered comercial breeders. Therefore if you are a member of the VCA and are not registered as a business you do not have to microchip your puppies before you sell them. However, the new owners will have to have them microchipped to register them with the council. This sounds a little "suss" and I would be refunding the purchase price and chalking it up to experience. Also look at having a contract, some people will say it's not worth te paper it is written on but it is better than verbal agreements. -
Yes you may make a profit from a litter but if you are like me any money from puppies goes back into the dog's cheque book. This money is used to pay all the dog expenses such as council reg, VCA and club renewals, show entries, dog items such as crates, bedding, leads ect and anything else the need. Not to mention new books to continue building my knowledge and the biggest expense Vet bills - and these include the bills for Gr Gr Gr Grandma and the other older retired dogs, whose bloodlines course through those little wriggling bodies that have just gone to the knew homes.

Women Injured And Animals Killed In Overnight Fires (caboolture Qld)
puglvr replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
I am so very saddened reading this thread. My best wishes go out to you Jed and your family. It is our worst nightmare and one I have unfortunately been very close to myself. About a year ago a friend of mine lost her home and 5 of her pugs in a house fire. She was not hurt physically and one pug survived but the emotional scars are still very much with her. Two of the pugs she lost were my boys and I suffered along with her. So I have a small inkling of how Jed will be feeling when she pulls through this. My friend found great comfort in letters and cards that were sent to her from all over the world, so maybe if someone close to Jed would be willing to accept cards on her behalf, that could be collected and taken to her. It would be a tangible show of love and support for her. I know we have all posted here but she may not have access to a computer for a while. Also my friend was distraught not anly because she had lost her "little family" but also her photos ect. Luckily I had some beautiful photo's of her dogs and made her a scrapbook of their photo's along with some poems, a little thing but something that she cherishes. Maybe people who know Jed and have photo's of her dogs could make copies for her or the talented lady who does the photo memorial in the Rainbow Bridge could do a memorial if she has pics A big thank you to the people who organised the burial of the deceased dogs. I know it will be of great comfort to Jed. God Bless You Jed my prayers are with you. -
Excellent work. Not a known fact but we have a big hairy deerhound who I refer to as the "stoopidhound" because ........ she is!

What Don't Most People Know About Your Breed?
puglvr replied to RallyValley's topic in General Dog Discussion
Pugs are actually people!!!!! Just ask them! And they didn't run into parked cars ect... And yes pugs can be black too..... and actually black is dominant over fawn in pugs. and two fawn pugs cannot have black puppies in their litter (no matter how many blacks are behind them. -
Yes we'll be there . We're one of the big group!!!
