Pug Club is having Neuter at their Champ Show. I spoke to someone at the VCA about changing the info in the Gazette and stating that it is now a legit class and not sweepstakes.

My boy Ted not only trained in agility but also competed. we did NADAC agility which is much better suited to a huge variety of breeds. Ted always went through the course well under time and sometimes faster than the kelpies. He got his Agility and jumping titles. There are obedience titled pugs and also flyball pugs and some who have ET. And I have one who I was training for tracking.

Do the pups have to be vaccinated for rabies before they leave or can they be done at the country of destination?

Uk To Vet Check Point Winners In 2012 (15 Breeds)
puglvr replied to RuralPug's topic in General Dog Discussion
It is already happening . Last year at Crufts I watched the vet watching the judging of the Peke and Pugs. He was the judge that we had for our specialty the following week. He said that They examined the winning Peke to make sure he was fit enough to go through to group judging. So it is already happening. Funnily enough it was early March and still very cold but the also ran the airconditioning periodically over those two rings, to keep the dogs cool. -
Give me a ring and or your address I can send you a copy of the Sec's guide our previous sec did for our committee. Also there is a Sec guide on the VCA website I think. I know haw you feel, I got the first entries today for our Specialty in March. Would love to see your spreadsheet. Silly me 52672258

National Tv Current Affairs Show Needs You

How about the story of where these pups come from? How about the story of the 2 heavily pregnant female pugs, from a puppy factory advertised on-line, destined to be bought by another puppy factory? How about the story about how these girls were rescued at considerable expense? How about the story about one girl needing a c-section to have her pups and the fact that she'd had this before? How about the story of the "seller" deliberately getting them in pup to sell because he make more money that way? How about the fact he didn't give a dam about where they were going and if the could be cared for properly? Does this story have a happy ending? Maybe it's still to early to know. -
My Pug boy had a grass seed up his nose. A full blown seed. He actually sneezed and also hyper salivated quite a bit. When the vet examined him he sneezed and we actually saw a tiny bit ot the seed in the nostril. They knocked him out and removed it. Good as gold although I'm still surprised a seed so big could get up his nostril.

Capstar And Epileptic Dogs
puglvr replied to Dog_Horse_Girl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have used Frontline for years now and have never had a problem with fleas and I have 12 dogs. It was a matter of breaking that flea cycle when we first moved here. Now I only really need to flea my dogs maybe once a year around the start of the hot weather. A friend of my mum used to breed Goldens, lived on a farm and she always fed her dogs garlic and swore by it for fleas. -
Glad to know I'm doing all the right things. Thanks largely to advice I have read on DOL. Sway we don't know any details about the girls apart from they were heavily pregnant. One was microchipped so we know she is 3. It was said that the girl I have is older but we actually think she is younger. We know that she has had previous litters and at least one c-section - we suspect she had trouble previously and that was the reason he intentionally got the girls in pup and sold them pregnant (because I get more money for them- his words). All the pups' placentas had seperated when they were delivered and the 2 boys were the hardest to get going- whether that was a factor- who knows, probably! They were tiny little things even for pugs, and had hairless legs and very short minimal hair on their bodies. They were very long and skeletal. I found it very hard to hold them. Yes I did supplement with glucose and beef liver tea but the little fella died anyway, but I attribute this for keeping the others alive because although the were on mum they obviously were not strong enough to feed properly. They were placed on mum every 2 hours as she was not in a very good way herself. She had plenty of milk but has now dried up. She had to have some fairly strong long lasting anti biotics they may not have been good for the babies. I started by syringe feeding them and then went onto a premmie nipple. It is amazing that such a small creature can open their mouths so wide. Thanks to my sister in law who came all the way from near Wagga Wagga to bring me the bottle and teat- actually she came down for Christmas but just happened to have what I needed.

I'm raising a litter of premature pupies at the moment and was wondering if others had done the same and your experiences and helpful tips. They are 15 days old from birth but I would say they are actually 7-8 days old. They were delivered by c-section after mum went into labour and nothing progressed. Oxytocin bought about one dead pup and nothing else. vet decided that c-section was the way to go and was not confident that the remaining pups would be alive. 5 pups were delivered, one died after doing the stiff puppy thing the following day. one died around day at day 9 and blew up like ballon, the vet thought there was some sort of septicemia. One boy is on another mother and doing very well. The 2 girls are being hand raised at the moment and are putting on weight slowly but surely. They are starting to nurse on the bottle strongly and we are contemplating putting them with the foster mum once we have started to wean her boys which are about 2 weeks older. Mum is cleaning the babies but as she was so sick after the delivery and s-section the pups only had the colostrum off her and have effectively been hand raised since. This girl was a puppy factory rescue, heavily in whelp.

It's been about 2 years since the last reply in the original thread. Has anyone found out any more? Just experience this with the pug litter I am looking after at the moment. he is the biggest pup and only 1 day old. If I hadn't read this thread I'm sure I would have freaked out and not believe what I saw.

Yes Sharon i fill out the form with my relevant details and Bitches name number. This is only sent when payment has been made. I also have a stud service reciept which has all the details including mating dates and anticipated whelping dates and also payment details. signed by both parties and copy to each.

Just a question about pups that are born dead. On the weekend I helped with the whelping of a pug girl. 2 live pups and 2 dead pups. The 2 dead pups had unusual "sacs'/placentas. They were quite thick and"meaty"is the only way I could think to describe them. the other two live pups had "normal" sacs. Has anyone else noticed this? We also had what we thought looked like an unformed foetus. Just like the foetus shape but like it stopped forming and went hard. BB I read in the December litters about you litter; What is a "macerated pup"?

I have used Frontline for over 10 years now. We live on a rural property that was crawling in fleas. We successfully broke the flea cycle and at the most we only use the frontline twice a year now. I have 13 dogs.

He also made the same sort of comment on the Circle on Friday. So I have sent an e-mail directly to him at [email protected] -
There are 3 of us who travel to show together so of course the drive and the conversations are always a highlight. Laughing. The Baby puppies and their antics. Remembering previous shows eg- last year at Hamilton and the mud, mud, mud. Stopping for a chocolate coated ice cream from Hungry Jacks in Warrnambool. (One year we stopped and ate it in the car park and then drove through the drive thru again for another one!!!!) Catching up with people.

As the topic suggests I have a singleton pug baby. I've never had a singleton before. he is up on his feet walking around a little. Just started on solids and starting to interact more. For all those people who have raised singletons what were some of your best hints, tricks and tips for raising a happy well adjusted pup.

Ohh Well done Chase and Kaffy. Been right where you are with my girl and can say all the effort is well worth it. My girl even went on to get her obedience title and compete in Agility and lived to the ripe old age of 13. Special girl.

Kaffy my GSD had pneumonia and a collapsed lung. They thought surgery would be needed. The specialist vet said he'd never seen a GSD with such a narrow chest due to the collapsed lung. They took swabs and grew cultures to find 3 "germs" so to speak causing the problem and once they worked out right antibiotics she went ahead in leaps and bounds. She spent a week at Werribee in Intensive care, came home onAB's and physio and steam tent instructions. Went back 4 weeks later and the couldn't believe it was the same dog. There is positive hope here.
