This is interesting. I would really like to know what the Melbourne (RASV) awards are.
-
I'm just wondering...... The Pug Club donates Trophies and Sashes for the BOB, RUBOB, Dog CC, Bitch CC and Reserve CC's. So what happens for breeds who don't have a breed club to donate or can afford to donate. Does the RASV supply ribbons for the class winners and placegetters? Do they have sashe/rosettes for those breeds that aren't donated?

Love the x-ray. Love GSD puppies. Well here is a belly pic of my girl. She is 5 weeks 2 days........I'm a bit worried.

Hi Merci, The Pug Club of Victoria has two females in rescue at the moment, ready for their new homes. They have been desexed and vaccinated and had their teeth cleaned. PM me or e-mail me at [email protected] and I will pass on the phone details of the Rescue co-ordinator if you are interested. Jane

Can you add us too please. Pug babies due 22nd Oct. :D

Hi Merci, Two pugs definitely- you'll end up with two anyway!!!!! Maybe get an older rescue or rehomed dog and then get your baby once you've adjusted to having a pug insorry ruling your life. Also www.pugclubvictoria.com has some useful info.

A reverse cycle airconditioner does the trick but then it's not a normal kennel.

I got them My sister rang me on Tuesday night and told me they were in the Catalogue (we don't get them) So she went and got me a dbl bed one for $38. I went into Target today and got 2 dbl bed ones for my 2 friends they were $40. Originally they scanned at $50 and I asked if they were supposed to be 20 per cent off. So that's what the gave them to me for. Also got 3 pillows for our beds. Very cute!!!!!

Anyone know who the Pug was and how many were entered? Please & Thankyou ;)

We have discussions in the Pugs about the "correct" coat, especially if a single coat is correct and a dog with an undercoat is faulty - in regard to the wording- "fine, smooth, short and glossy" When it comes to short, I tend to try to imagine what the writers of the breed standard wanted to convey. I think they probably were trying to distinguish between the short coat of a pug and the long coat of the Peke, simple as that.

Breeds - Hd And Ed Scoring Requirements
puglvr replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in Breeders Community
I think what Lowenhart has to say is exactly what is needed. Testing needs to be breed specific. For example yes Pugs statistically have some of the highest scoring HD results - that doesn't mean that these "scores" mean that the dogs are crippled and in pain and require surgery at a young age. Did you know that Hemi vetebra is found in GSDs and other breeds, though it doesn't have the same debilitating results as it can in Pugs and Frenchies, so should we require these breeds to x-ray for it. We have on our website an extensive list of conditions/diseases that can be found in pugs. Do all pugs have these problems, of course not. In fact most people would not know the most lethal condition known in Pugs. Yet research has been conducted for years and we have finally found genetic markers. We can have our dogs DNA tested, receive the results, carefully plan our matings and still "cross our fingers" that this disease doesn't show up. -

I have had a Champion dog trailer for well over 10 years. Tows like a dream and never had any problems with it.

grooming for me too. I also talk a lot to my dogs and sing at them when I'm doing mundane things like getting their food ready and hanging out washing - I also make sure I use their names. No mean feat when you have 14.

We built our carport in and made it into the dogsroom. It has a kitchen area and a hydrobath, fridge, tv, microwave, reverse cycle airconditioner and overhead fans. It has a "whelping" area which is used for the GSD to sleep in and has small lock up eating pens for 3 pugs. It also has two steel lock-up areas that the big dogs slept in when they were alive, that is where I seperate dog/bitches during seasons. The whole area is 5 squares. It has two big windows (with security mesh) at the front that match in with the front facade, a window above the kitchen sink and a sliding door out the back that opens into our back yard. The floor is covered in armour lining which extends up the walls- for the problem piddlers. If I built a house again I would do this again but I think I would also have an internal door into the hallway of the house.

There is a caravan park in Werribee near the beach area that takes dogs. That's all I know.

Let us know what they think. My husbands old working kelpie had this same problem but his was out and erect. The vets managed to get it back down and in and put a stitch in it to stop it coming back out and heal. He is already castrated so don't know if that is a contributing factor or not. Interesting about it could be due to back problems. My get the hubby to take him to our Accupuncturist if it reoccurs.

We've made provisions in our will if anything happens to us that money will be provided for the care of all our animals. I also made my best friend who is a doggy person my executor because she knows what I would want and who else to talk to. I also intend to leave a letter outline what I wish to happen with my animals and with the resources that will be left.
-
This cost could be because July is desexing month and some vets are offering half price desexing. I just had Jack desexed and it was $99 straight castration + Fluids + extra pain relief . Which our vets sort of consider to be standard anyway especially for pugs. There was also a small extra cost for extractiong the wayward testicle. All up I think it was $189.

Nothing gets my back up more than when people refer to Pugs as Puggles.

Vomit Inducing Drug For The House
puglvr replied to jacqui835's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
my little pug girl helped herself to the dog food. very big tummy. vet's advice was teaspoon of salt. -
"Goneroamin" - actually saw "Dunroamin" on a house sign and liked that so included that with a couple of other choices and of course "Goneroamin" which was what i got. You would not believe how hard some people think it is to pronounce.
