  1. you have said that her '1 teat she has alot and its really full and lumpy and hard' Is it red and hot to touch?
  2. give her the powder from 1/2 tab twice a day, mix it with her food and give her Greek yoghurt (the no added sugar one) Try to buy the fenugreek seeds as they are better and, of course, heaps of fresh clean water<---this is just so important. She mustn't get dehydrated. There are some suggestions on this page https://dogcare.dailypuppy.com/foods-promote-milk-production-nursing-dogs-5428.html
  3. What does the info on the bottle say?...are the contents just powdered fenugreek or are those capsules an extract that has been dried? (much stronger than straight powdered seeds) What is indicated on the bottle the dosage rate for children? Here is some dog dosage info: Some info on dosages...I have put into italics the dosage a paragraph from this dog site https://pokydogs.org/how-much-fenugreek-to-give-a-dog/ Fenugreek for dogs milk production: Does Fenugreek Increase Breast Milk In Dogs? Yes! A study carried out shows that fenugreek improves the percentage of the milk a dam will produce to up to 16%. Fenugreek is often the breeder’s choice to supplement their lactating dam’s minerals and milk. Also, after whelping, if the milk is not as sufficient as expected, fenugreek is used. This practice has been on for ages. It helps lactating mothers produce more milk which is why it’s considered a galactagogue. The fenugreek dosage for dog milk production is one tablespoon two times daily of powdered fenugreek seeds. and from here--> https://greenpet.com.au/product/fenugreek-powder/ This is a screenshot of the dosage of Greenpet powder that picture is on the Greenpet link To be safe it may be best to give the mum 2.5g Fenugreek Powder Dosage : Cats / small dogs 1 to 2 teaspoons daily Med dogs: 1 to 2 Tablespoons daily Large dogs: 2 Tablespoons daily
  4. The fenugreek tea is given to mum; mix with some unsweetened yoghurt or goats milk or with her mince she will probably find it yummy
  5. @jjj8 the fenugreek seeds are also available at health food shops and Asian or Indian grocers and in capsule form at Chemist Warehouse. A list of where to buy in this linkie here about 1 teaspoon of seeds to 1 cup boiling water, let steep or 5--10 minutes then strain off the seeds. if you have one of those little one cup tea strainers/balls that you can put the seeds into they are good
  6. 2-->3 hourly feeds are needed, a gap of 8 hours just won't do, the puppies will not survive on that regime
  7. as soon a a supermarket is open whizz there and buy a packet of fenugreek seeds, make a tea with them and get that tea into the pups mother. Fenugreek is an amazing milk-increaser here is an old Dogz post about fenugreek If you don't have any at home (though if you make chutney or curries you probably will) Coles have it here Woolies don't seem to have it You may be late for work
  8. @jjj8 take the pup to another vet asap (like now) your pup will be dehydrated so will need fluids otherwise he will fade away. edited to add...please keep us updated on the little one's progress
  9. They do Deeds, I filled out an Energex on-line form that is easily accessible on-line, they say that they contact you when the meter reader is coming https://www.energex.com.au/home/our-services/meters/meter-read-alerts-for-dog-owners But, when I was contacted the email said tomorrow but the meter-reader came that day, I also received a text but it was on the day following the reading So maybe the property owners had a much-the-same notification, who knows, here's the email (I removed my details) Hello, We are scheduled to read your meter tomorrow in xxxxxx For safety reasons our crews will not enter the property if there are unrestrained dogs. Please ensure that dogs are properly restrained and separated from any work area: either kept indoors, on a firm leash or behind a secure barrier. For more information about our Safe Entry policy visit energex.com.au/safeentry. If we are unable to read your meter tomorrow due to unforeseen circumstances, we will send you an updated notification. Regards, Energex
  10. Your vet should get the nurse to take your dog outside and whip that kidney dish under her as soon as she squats, they then put some of the sample in a tiny test tube like this one here after it has been spun down it is quite easy to see any crystals with the naked eye, they look a little like fine sand I feel as though you have been mucked about as, along with testing the pH, it's a common test and every vet surgery carries a centrifuge so can do that test while you are waiting in the consulting room
  11. the vets usually put them on antibiotics for a UTI and Urimav (it's cheap as chips on-line)to increase the acid content of the urine which slows down the struvite crystal formation. There is no red meat or fish in the diet ever again, just chicken or turkey and Urinary S/O I also have a Zara who has this problem, for chicken I feed her Premi Yum from Woolies (sometimes on special for $9) and get the Urinary S/O online
  12. awwww , look at their old-lady tummies and their saggy stockings I just love them

Oh stop being so bossy Coneye. Why should Belinda do as you say? She is her own person and kudos to her coming here to air her concerns, she now has solutions to her questions and will make her decision regardless of your nagging, please just give it a rest. And, by the way, it is the excessive use of repeat commas that makes your posts difficult to read; not your grammar, if you search on-line there are tips on how to overcome the glitch to suit the browser you are using this may be of some help---> link

@coneye I am having so much trouble reading your posts so could you do me a great favour and not put two or three commas when one would do the job (also there is no space between the end of a word and a comma) Yes, I am a grammar Nazi but you could just do a little towards easing my affliction
  17. As you know it'll probably take around three months for her to be a (fairly) normal little dog, she'll lose that awful nervous look and become more outgoing and happy. That photo breaks my heart. ps, I love your floorboards
