message BoStoNmAdNeSs and ask him as I have an idea that DOLers can recommend a breeder (and often do) but it would be difficult to comment (especially negatively) about a breeder without getting in all sorts of poo From reading the for sale ads on-line it would seem to be the better bet to contact breeders who do show, at least you can talk to them and get advice on who to contact about buying a pup

well I had a quick Google for Boston breeders and came across some 'breeder' I went at their list Beagle - Beaglier (Beagle x Cavalier) - Boston Terrier - Bugg (Boston Terrier x Pug) - Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Cavalier x - Cavador (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Labrador Retriever) - Cava Tzu (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Shih Tzu) - Cavoodle (Cavalier x Poodle) - Cockalier (Cocker Spaniel x Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) - Cocker Spaniel - French Bulldog - Frug (French Bulldog x Pug) - Labradoodle (Labrador Retriever x Poodle) - Labrador Retriever - Maltalier (Maltese x Cavalier) - Moodle (Maltese x Poodle) - Pomeranian - Poochi (Poodle x Chihuahua) - Poodle - Pug - Pug Zu (Pug x Shih Tzu) - Pugalier (Pug x Cavalier) - Puggle (Pug x Beagle) - Samoyed - Schnoodle (Schnauzer x Poodle) - Shoodle - Siberian Husky - Spoodle (Cocker Spaniel x Poodle) - Speagle (Cocker Spaniel x Beagle) - Welsh Corgi there is another advertising with a breeder number that has Boston's and Boston x for sale There appears to be a large amount of shonks out there so you would be best to contact the NSW breed club and have a chat, or go to a show and ask the Boston owner's if you can contact them when they are not so busy to talk about owning a Boston. The list of shows are here; maybe contact the show secretary to ask if there will be any Boston's https://www.dogzonline.com.au/event-diary/list.asp?state=NSW edited to add; post on this forum and BoStoNmAdNeSs will most likely get back to you

maybe they took the coal tar out of it as it's carcinogenic, try using pine tar ointment instead...it's pretty good
-
if the OP used Ichthammol it'll do the dog's skin no damage, it has been a natural and safe remedy for aeons so let's just hope
-
a little severe I think. maybe next time use magnoplasm, it works and is of less concern on the skin. I would rather poke a stick into my eye than put that on my dogs, it is irresponsible to do so edited to add a couple of explanatory links https://www.healthline.com/health/black-salve-cancer https://www.sciencealert.com/what-is-black-salve-and-can-it-cure-cancer

I think, in Zena's Mum's case, the citronella collar beats a kick up the bahoochie
-
The BarkGuard starter kit works ok, I put it on Zara who barkedbarkedbarkedbarkedbarkedbarkedbarkedbarked It's a citronella spray. I only kept it on a few hours each day for a couple of days, I then turned it upside-down so the spray went towards the ground, then I left it on whilst it was empty. Closer-to-the-ground dogs do have trouble going down steps as the reservoir bumps on the steps and it sprays so the collar needs to be taken off at 'go outside' times then put back on if that Lhasa apso is barking in the yard. Zara didn't mind the collar and was happy to put it on; it almost seemed that she wasn't required to bark as part of her doggie-duties...go figure edited to add; I don't want to sell Zara's bark collar but if you would like me to post it to you for the duration of your Lhasa apso minding I can post it off to you tomorrow and you could post it back to me when noisy-dog is finished being minded. Message me your address

Boronia replied to Boronia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I will do the adding more water suggestion SD; seems pretty obvious doesn't it! she gets vegie-slops with her meat anyway so I'll just extra-slop them I have bought two VAN products to add to her dinner: Vets All Natural Complete Mix Adult/Senior Vets All Natural Health Booster I'm still searching for cranberry powder/extract...I wonder if this will be a substitute? (it came up in the Country park search-box when I typed in 'cranberry') https://countrypark.com.au/product/bearberry-leaf/ -
Low-protein kibble advice please
Boronia replied to Boronia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I had phoned Vets all Natural and the chappy on the phone read out the pertinent points in one of Bruce Syme's articles on bladder stones; vitamin C and cranberry extract was suggested. I have searched on-line and keep finding opposing views which is annoying, here is one https://www.preventivevet.com/cats/cranberry-and-your-pets-urinary-health and some pro here https://ultimatehomelife.com/can-dogs-eat-cranberries/ I don't know about the dried cranberries (from Aldi or supermarket) but I have been hesitant in case they have been preserved/dried using sulphur dioxide -
Low-protein kibble advice please

Also; where, in Australia, can I buy animal grade cranberry extract or powder at an extra-reasonable price -
Dandie-Zara developed a UTI and was found to have tiny struvite crystals in her urine, she also had a bacterial infection. AB's and Urimav were prescribed, UTI cleared, pH showed around 6.25-6.5, it was advised that she stay on the Urimav. I normally feed raw but do add a small amount of kibble to make sure she is getting a more varied intake of vitamins and minerals. It seems from my searches that lower protein my be helpful so my question is...do any DOLers know of a low protein/grain/rice free kibble that is available? I am not particulary interested in the 'sciency-types' of diets as they appear to be (in some cases) a bit of a con. Thanks

Yes...good news. here is a copy and paste Dogs Outside The Ring shared an album. 5 mins · +8 Redding Police Department added 11 new photos to the album: Dogs Rescued From Recovered Stolen Vehicle.Like Page 3 hrs Quick update on the rescued dogs. All of the dogs taken in the stolen van have been recovered. They were located in a remote, wooded area south of Redding. The van was parked in direct sun, locked up tight. Officers broke a window to gain access to the dogs who were all barking and eager to be rescued. Haven Humane Society was on scene quickly and immediately began caring for the dogs. They were taken to Haven Humane to receive veterinary services, food, water, and loves. The dogs had high heart rates from heat and stress, were thirsty, hungry, and in need of affection, but were otherwise fine. Haven Humane Society did a great job caring for the dogs and they are awaiting arrival of their respective owners. A full press release will be issued later today. -

No, that's a definite NO I asked Penny's vet the same thing as the tooth was pretty loose, the vet also checked and cleaned Penny's teeth. edited to add...stop worrying and just do it; yes it is going to cost you but it's honestly worth it for the peace of mind (and your dog's teeth)
-
Yes, it does need to come out. I thought the same when Penny had a loose tooth...vet said 'out it comes, it is hurting her' so get it removed (and yes, I know it costs but it's just something we have to do)
