My foster, Wee Maxi still has black skin on most of his body, this is caused by a long term untreated fungal infection. I have been oiling him regularly with Keri oil, I infused it with dried Calendula petals. His black skin is dotted with pink spots of healthy skin on his chest, tummy and on his back near his tail but interestingly the skin under his collar is nearly all pink. Does anyone here know why this is so? The only reason I can think of is that the temperature of his skin may be a smidgen higher to the rest of his body and the fungal infection may not thrive in that area and here's a photo of him just because he's a sweetie

what fun for you there will be two Westies there as well as two Dandies...one of which is probably Gavin , if you give them a pat just don't pat their top-knots, it takes ages to get them just right If the owner of the Dandies is not busy I am sure she will help with any questions if you tell her it's your first show ever

A can of personal insect repellent (like the stinkin' Aldi one that looks like Aerogard) is better than citronella, it will choke anything if it's sprayed in the attacking dogs direction. If you remove the spray nozzle and fit the nozzle from a WD40 spray can ( cut the straw to about 1/3 of its length and insert it in the little hole) it will give a more directional spray. edited to add that a spray up the attacker's nose will stop it in it's tracks

as long as a reputable rescue has him he may now have a chance to get better

whew, thanks PL,I hope that they are a good rescue. I know that Qld Westie rescue gets NSW dogs flown up this way occasionally (my Wee Maxi is a Sydney boy)

The love and support from everyone has meant so much to us. Our Kelpie has been found 20km from camp towards Mt Isa traveling back towards camp along the hwy. She hasn't been injured but is still exhausted today and is resting up. Masi our 15 year old staffy cross is still missing and we would like to offer a reward of $1,500 with no questions asked for his return. He is an extremely loved family pet. My parents are camping 60km north of Mt Isa (The mount isa Camooweal road rest area) towards NT border. At approximately 8pm last night their two dogs (kelpie and staffy) were stolen. These people could be headed south towards Mt Isa or further or north to towards Darwin i the Nortjern Territory.
