I'm pretty sure that a breeder of this type of GSD won't contact you, it's up to you to get out there and do your own searching and research for working line GSDs. Attend dog shows and chat to the breeders, you will find this schedule helpful https://www.dogzonline.com.au/event-diary/list.asp?state=WA Start up with a rapport with some lovely working lines GSD breeders here https://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/breeders/german-shepherd-dog.asp?state=WA

I'm going to pop this here as this poor woman is still looking for her dogs. Kim Linaker It’s been 17 very long days since my pups went missing. I know someone has these two little beauties, please bring them back, take the reward, no questions asked. We just need them home. My family is suffering without them! Do the right thing, please. Lost in Rochdale Estates My two little dogs were let out of my yard and have not been seen since. I live in Cooper Crescent Rochedale. If you have any information about them please call or message me 0451117085. They are both wearing collars with tags and are microchipped. The little one is deaf. Thank you very much

Do you give Vitamin E as a supplement? The reason I'm asking is that Vitamin E helps process fish oil (Google 'do dogs need vitamin E with fish oil, (can show arthritis symptoms)) but to get back to the loss of hair; vitamin E is helpful in hair growth (as is zinc) so maybe it'd be worth a supplement with those two combined -
SG, did you watch the video below that? the one about the Christmas dog song

I just gave him the one dose @sheena 1/2 hour to an hour before the storm
-
@BDJ and @sheena I just give Henry two chewies when I hear or see the storm coming and around 20 minutes after eating them he has settled down and sometimes just has a nap. Henry's calmness settles the other dogs as they were picking up on his anxiety. I don't give him the chewies at any other time...only ever for storms
-
I had a read about that Cytopint PK, it looks really good and I'd jump at it but... Apoquel costs a smidgen over $60 per month and the Cytopoint is $160 per month (injection) so a bit out of the question money-wise. Bummer
-
Is there an alternative to Apoquel? Maxi (8.5kg) is on 1/4 16mg tablet daily and though it works quite well I am hesitant in keeping him on it long-term. It does work better than the Telfast antihistamine.
-
I only give it to Henry when I hear there is a storm coming (or see it on the BOM)
-
I reckon it would @Kazm you give four of the little chewies daily for dogs between 10-25kg so you could always try just three chewies ((up to 10kg) at first. it just settles down Henry so as he's not really bothered about fussing over stuff. Among the blurb on the jar it says 'being separated from their owner's and loved ones' have a look on-line for the best buying edited to add that I have been buying from this company lately as their prices are fairly good (despite their awful 'white important-looking persons with stethoscopes') home page https://vetproductsdirect.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=Vetalogica+Tranquil+Formula
-
This stuff is good @sheena I give it to Henry and he just snoozes through the thunder now. I was surprised that it worked so well! Canine Tranquil Formula contains Tryptophan and essential B group vitamins to help maintain normal emotional balance as well as normal nervous function in dogs. 120 chewable tablets for easy dosing. Helps Maintain Emotional Balance in Dogs.

https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/2020/11/18/garry-linnell-trump-biden-dogs/?utm_source=Adestra&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Morning News - 20201118 Garry Linnell: Never trust a man who doesn’t like dogs Garry Linnell says a president's attitude toward dogs tells us a lot about their character. Photo: TND/Getty Garry Linnell I was in bed with my best mate last week when my wife walked in on us. She didn’t seem very happy. She often complains that I spend too much time with him and I guess the sight of us lying there in the marital bed, me gently stroking the whiskers on his chin, his head resting lovingly on the silver hairs of my chest, was the final straw. My wife glared and pursed her lips. My mate knew that look. He reluctantly climbed out of bed. As he left, he glanced back at me and the sadness in his eyes broke my heart. But my wife is tough. She can also be unreasonable when it comes to my best mate. I put it down to jealousy because she often finds us gazing into one another’s eyes and she wishes I would do the same with her. “Enough is enough,” she said to me when my mate had gone. “He spends every moment of the day with you and if I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a thousand times. I don’t want that dog on our bed.” There really is no point arguing with her when she gets in one of those moods. So I mumbled an apology and when I could hear her in the kitchen making breakfast, I quietly opened the back door and let my best mate Archie back inside. I’ve been Archie’s human for the past seven years. As I write these words he is sitting on my lap. You might call him my muse. He is an intelligent Cavoodle and sometimes his paw reaches out and taps the keyboard and cvfhy# %$4PO{ = %^&4DF@. He follows me everywhere and even insists on coming into the bathroom with me. He is a patient dog who never minds how long I take to read the newspaper. My wife once said that he suffers from separation anxiety and needs medication. Or maybe she was talking about me. Whatever. It was just another one of her lame attempts to get attention when she could clearly see I was focused on massaging Archie behind the ears while formulating plans for our afternoon walk. Anyway, not long after she ordered Archie out of bed it became clear that Joe Biden would definitely be the next President of the United States. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris raise their hands in triumph amid the crowd’s cheers. Photo: AP “This is the best news the world has had this year,” I said to Archie, who was underneath my desk with one paw resting on my foot. He looked up at me a little guiltily. When an unpleasant odour hit me I understood why. But he was clearly sorry and I immediately forgave him because overlooking faults in others is what true love is all about. “Biden might be old and confused and spent way too much time living in his basement,” I said. “But he’s a dog guy.” Archie understood immediately what that meant. His English is somewhat patchy but our communication works at a higher, almost telepathic, level. I told him Biden has two German Shepherds – Champ and Major. Having a dog guy as the most powerful man on Earth was a relief because, as everyone knows, dog guys have a lot of empathy and compassion. They know they are not the centre of the universe, but are merely small, insignificant objects in the orbit of their canine. Their role is to nurture, support, protect and care. Clearly, Donald Trump is not a dog guy. Donald Trump at his first public outing since losing the election. Photo: Getty He is the first president in more than a century to not have a pooch in the White House. He also fails to show respect when using the word “dog”. He spits it out like an obscenity. He once claimed Republican Mitt Romney “choked like a dog” when he lost the 2012 election to Barack Obama. He once gloated that a television news anchor who lost his job had been “fired like a dog”. “Definitely not a dog guy,” I told Archie again. “He’s so crude and such a narcissist I think he might even be one of those weird cat guys.” Mr Trump’s most appalling reference to dogs came last year when he announced that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had died after being hunted down by American special forces in Syria. It wasn’t the news about al-Baghdadi’s demise that was disturbing. It was the way Trump crowed about the manner of his death. “He died like a dog,” Mr Trump declared. “He died like a coward. He was whimpering, screaming and crying.” I knew then that Mr Trump knew nothing about mutts. He had clearly never held a dying dog in his arms. I have humbly served many dogs over the years. I have carried several of them to the car when advanced years and cruel disease meant a one-way trip to the vet. I have held them in my arms and whispered to them softly as the needle ended their suffering. Not one of them died whimpering and crying. They went with dignity and courage and when they sighed and expelled their last breath I continued to cling to them until their fur ran wet with my tears. That’s what dog guys do. They know how to love unconditionally. They know how to be loyal and respectful. Unlike Donald Trump, they also know their true worth. They are only here to serve. In rural Japan robot monster wolves are being used to keep bears out of towns, stopping potential attacks Posted 4hhours ago, updated 2hhours ago The robotic monster wolf has been deployed in the Japanese countryside to ward off bears.(Reuters: Kyodo)The Japanese town of Takikawa has deployed robot "monster wolves" in an effort to scare away bears that have become an increasingly dangerous nuisance in the countryside. Key points: The robot wolves are covered in realistic-looking fur and emit over 60 sounds designed to ward off large animals When their sensors detect movement, the robot's scare tactics kick in Since deploying the robotic wolves, the town of Takikawa says there have been no human/bear encounters Takikawa, located on the northern island of Hokkaido, purchased and installed a pair of the robots after bears were found roaming neighbourhoods in September. City officials said that bears had become more active and dangerous as they search for food before going into hibernation in late November. They also said a decrease of acorns and nuts in the wild this year may have driven the animals to venture closer to towns in search of sustenance. The robot animals consist of a 65-centimetre-long, 50cm-tall body covered with realistic-looking fur, featuring huge white fangs and flashing red eyes. When the sensors on them are triggered, the robot's scare tactics kick into action. The robot's eyes light up red and it emits emitting a variety of sounds, some of which are ear-splintering. The sounds, of which there are over 60, are mixed up so animals such as bears do not get used to them and consistently remain in fear. Machinery maker Ohta Seiki has sold about 70 units of the robot since 2018. The company's president, Yuji Ohta, has previously said the monster wolf is a deterrent for bears. Wild bears have recently become a problem as they wander into rural Japanese towns.(Flickr: Michelle Bender) "We have included many methods in its design to drive off bears, so I am confident it will be effective. If this can help create an environment that bears and people can both live in, I will be happy." For Takikawa, with its population of around 41,000 people, it appears the monster wolves are working like a charm. City officials said there have been no bear encounters since the wolves were deployed. However, bear sightings in the rural areas of western and northern Japan are at a five-year high, national broadcaster NHK has reported. And there have been dozens of attacks so far in 2020, two of them fatal, prompting the Government to convene an emergency meeting last month to address the threat they pose. The real Japanese wolf roamed the central and northern islands of the country before being hunted to extinction more than a century ago. Reuters/ABC

The six-year-old black German shepherd, who name is Bravo, was off duty when he was last seen in Regents Park at 8:00pm. A search involving several officers as well as members of the Dog Squad is currently underway in the area. Anyone who sees the dog is urged to contact police immediately. Police have also warned people not to approach the dog or attempt to pat him. PD Bravo was involved in a 2016 incident on the Gold Coast in which he was attacked by another dog while on the job. He was tracking an alleged offender in bushland in Coomera when the dog attacked him. Police were forced to fatally shoot the other dog and PD Bravo suffered serious injuries.

What do you mean? I think you may be mistaken as it's just not for purebred/pedigree dog breeders, it's a group of dog people whose interest includes purebred dogs (though it does include all dogs which you will see if you read the health and rescue forums) There is a separate forum for registered breeders the logo says it all -

Black skin becoming pink under collar
Boronia replied to Boronia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
both of those ideas make sense though the wee boy gets combed after his oiling (which makes him sort-of twitch with delight) I will try the F10 shampoo though as it seems to be taking forever to get his skin back to pink. There is still new hair poking through especially on his front legs and back, it's amazing how resilient hair follicles are
