" Mack " ~ Aka The Old Boy From Renbury~ Rip 19/10/11

No words Cathy...just hugs -
Turns out these two (older kelpie and a cat ) will be in kennels longer than first though. Apparently until at least November now. This man only earns $2 per day so its pretty obvious why he cant pay kenneling fees. The two pets are all this man has so definately doesnt want to give them up. The cat recently had vet treatment who kindly know this mans circumstances and donated their time and drugs. Karen and Max at the kennels accept that these two will be there until they can be re-united with their owner....but if there's any more contributions that can help them out until that time they will be very grateful .

Just thought I'd bump this up again as I know that Karen and Max at Fernleigh would be very grateful of any more donations to cover the boarding for these two. They're happy to give a tax deductible receipt. At present it looks like they'll be there until middle of september. All contributions gratefully received...........

Just had a look in breeders for the update....you're right Deb, its OMG alright!! You must be breathing a sigh of relief Kaffy...such a worry. I found Superlorin takes a few weeks to kick in and although is supposed to last 12 months I found was starting to wear off after 6/7 months....maybe just a size thing with the larger breeds.

I think to make things a little clearer..these two should probably stay where they are until september and any kind people who want to make a donation can ring Karen at Fernleigh direct to help this guy out. The kennel has received nothing at all from the church group involved or anyone else for that matter and as this dog is an assistance dog someone should definately be helping pay for boarding (just not sure who ) Kennels are happy to help any way they can.....great people! :D

These two were in W Wyalong for a couple of months, then Fernleigh kennels were kind enough to give reduced rate as he doesnt want to lose them. I think at the time Julie said because they were in the pound she didnt think they'd be able to help. He has relatives in Qld that may help but the cost of getting them there would be too much. September isnt too far off now...fingers crossed that someone local can help. They had been well looked after before his arrest and he didnt want to surrender them...he obviously cares a lot and hated the thought of losing them. someone can help.

Advice Needed (changing An Adult/adoptee Dogs Name)
ninahartland replied to Kazhak's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep same Mags.My two greys both had a name change.Flash(who is now Stan)and Skye(who is now Maddie).Neither of mine responded to their old names either but I can say their names now only once and they look straight at me. I'm finding this with Maggie too who's been here a week now. Dont the greyhound trainers ever call them by name I guess not....... -
I use heartworm pills from Woolworths (Homebrand even, lol) 100 pills for about $3, only thing is you have to remember to give daily .I get the bottle out with their breakfast dishes so no chance of forgetting.

Ridiculous Quote For Puppy Transportation Or Not?
ninahartland replied to suziwong66's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm just arranging for a rescue young cattle dog to get from Melbourne to Perth. The adopter was quoted $700 odd but I found a company to do it for $385 including crate . Not one of the big companies but has been in business for 20 odd years. PM me if you want the number. -

Hd On A Pup Who Is Only 16 Weeks Old?
ninahartland replied to Erny's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
This rings alarm bells for me!!!!!!!!! When my gsd was about 8/9 months he was at the vets having hip xrays (vet thought something wasnt quite right so advised xrays ) Rang me while he was still under and advised I should pts then and there as his hips were so bad he wouldnt be able to walk in another 12 months. Of course I was devastated, rang his breeder who sent xrays to a specialist in Sydney. He will be 5 this month and shows no sign of hd at all.
