I am feeding her supercoat dry biscuits for breaky and a mix of mince, chicken loaf, yoguhrt and rice for dinner with some meat off cuts in between, sometimes.

I have been told to feed my puppy rice to make it cheaper to feed her, as she is a very big eater, and will be a very big dog. so is rice ok to feed her with her meat or should i be using something else.

I didn't think it was an acceptable thing to 'bunny hop'? Or are Dogues different? I'd be a tad concerned if this breeder has several that is why i am really wanting to hear from another dogue breeder. but i do apriciate all that have posted.

she does not dribble when excited just little dribbles most often arter she has done a wee. i have contacted the breeder and he says he has 3 other puppies that bunny hop and he also does see some adult dogs hop. Have the parents been hipscored ? Has the breeder treated those who have hopped and have they located the cause ? This would be helpful for you. A good muscle man/chiro are always handy with young developing puppies, apart from contacting the breeder of any of my dogs, I'd be seeing one of those as well. both parents are hip and elbow scored. the breeder has said that it is just the breed they are a very lazy breed and that is just how some of them run.

It's important for large breeds to learn how to behave around small dogs, and for small dogs to get used to large breeds......I won't allow big dogs to jump on little dogs, but they can learn important lessons on how to behave around smallies without being allowed off lead play with them. When it's time for off lead play, I choose two pups at a time that will be compatible. In one class I had all large breeds and one tiny Chi girl.....for that class, she didn't get off lead play with any of the biggies, but with a bit of careful planning, she finished the course totally comfortable in the presence of biggies, and the biggies all learned to be calm & gentle in the presence of smallies. The best way to have a well rounded dog is to make sure they are safely exposed to as many different scenarios as possible....biggies will bump into littlies at some point in their life, and if the owners have learned how to handle the situation, there will be fewer tears at the dog park. i would agree and i wish i was at your uppy class. i took my 14week old chihuahua to puppy class and we had to let them all off the lead at the same time and there was a big huski puppy that was only 9 weeks old and she thought it was great fun to stand on my puppies head and make him squeal real loud and the instuctor would not let us stop it as it was just puppy play. well now my dog who is now 14mths old does not like other dogs to touch him at all and now i have a dogue which is very large and play time is hard but slowly getting better.

Hi, I have a Douge puppy who bunny hops when she runs, and i would like to know if anyone can tell me if this is normal for a douge or should i get her hips x-rayed when she is 16 weeks which is what the vet wants me to do at a large cost, she is 11 weeks. she also has an incontinance problem as well which they also want to x-ray but i am hoping it will go away. any help would be great..
