my breeder was feeding her supercoat and so was i until recently when i was informed of puppy large breed and changed her diet. no i did not get a feed chart.
-
Hi, i noticed this morning that my pup has started doing green poos, i have been changing her kibble over from supercoat to royal canin puppy giant, could this be the reason and if so does anyone think that it is the change of diet and will go back to normal or should i try another kibble? any suggestions would be great. sabertooth.

Make sure you don't say your toilet word until he is doing his wee so he will link the two together and then praise him heaps and give him a treat if you like.
-
Hi there Banjotheboxer, congrats on your new puppy, but sorry to say toilet training si not easy but will be great. every dog is different, i have 2, one was trained by 6mths and the other is 4mths and not going as good. but what i did with the first puppy was take him out every 30mins and wait then give him dog choc and say wee wees, when he went (use whatever you want). the second pup is an outside dog because she is very large so i don't do the same and it does seem to be taking longer. so best of luck with it Sabertooth

I raised my Saint pup mainly on Royal Canin Giant and he looks excellent. Now he gets mainly a raw diet, but RC is in my opinion a fine kibble if you want to feed that. I'm a fan of Eagle Pack too. i did go and buy royal canin giant puppy today as i could not find eagle pack, so i wil see how she goes on this while i look for eagle pack.

i did just get x-rays, but she is also running better 1/2 the time. maybe it was just her running very clumsy, but i will still be watching her closely.
-
she has had x-rays of her hips and all is good. so no growth malformations.
-
where do i find eagle pack? or what about royal canin puppy for large breed?
-
She gets about 1 1/2 cups of supercoat kibble for breaky, a chicken frame for lunch and 2 cups of a raw mash for dinner, and she still always wants more. i hope this is a good diet...
-
Hello, just thought i would give an update on my pup, she has had her x-ray yesterday and the result was good no HD, so no surgery needed and she is now home with us with no worries in sight. thanks everyone for all the advice. sabertooth.

My parents had a bag of about 6 apples that they were going to throw out as they were past their best. Pele loves apples and we share one at the beach everyday, so I took them home, cored them, stuck them through the food processor and froze it in some small containers and an icecube tray. I'll use the apple with yoghurt or cottage cheese (she loves that too), or even toss a small container of apple on the lawn for her to lick and enjoy on a warm day so does that mean it is good to give your puppy fruit as well?

I was thinking the same thing By feeding a cheap, unbalanced diet to a pup just to save $$$$ will only cost you more in vet bills. By feeding a well balanced good diet you will be setting up your puppy for a healthy life and saving on vet bills. Get a hold of the book "Grow Your Pup With Bones" by Dr Ian Billinghurst. Your local library may have it. If you are feeding extra meat and veg don't forget to feed some bones as well. Bones are a good source of calcium. Meat has no calcium. Meat contains phosphorous which needs to be balanced with calcium. What breed is your puppy and how old? my baby is a Dogue de Bordeaux and she is 11wks old. i am really pleased with all the help i am getting thank you.
