  1. How far apart are they? The don't look to be close enough together for the shock collars I have seen but I guess there are different types.
  2. I signed up last night and had a few dramas. I did post in this thread about it but can't see it now! Out of 7 microchips I was able to claim 1!
  3. Kirty where are you cats? Did they find a bed with less competition? I once woke up with the stiffest neck and couldn't move - had a fleeting thought I was paralysed. I discovered I had a small cat curled around the top of my head.
  4. He could have impacted anal glands - very common in small breed dogs.
  5. The door is a little small and could probably be added too, but it would be fiddly, so time consuming, so costly.
  6. Dogs are lucky in that when things like this happen they learn to cope very quickly. I wake my old dogs by gentling touching them or by treading heavily near their beds. If they don't hear me when outside, I gently touch them or brush their sides lightly and give the command verbally with a hand signal. Tonight my Cav tried to come in with an uneaten chicken neck so when she looked up I pointed outside and she turned and went straight out, I didn't have to make sound. Although with her I think it is selective deafness!
  7. Tramadol will make her drowsy. Hopefully she won't need any pain relief soon.
  8. Which pain meds is she on as some often zonk them out? Glad she is home and hope she is back to her normal self soon. :)
  9. I have to take meds on an empty stomach so have to wait until 3 hours after a feed.
  10. I spent $2,000 at the vets last month so I'm not counting up for the year! This was 2 separate problems with a cat and one problem with a dog.
  11. Have you tried the medication for her Helen? It worked for my Cav for a while but is not working now, unfortunately. Others have told me it worked for them for many years.
  12. I've used both Nexguard and Bravecto without any problems but am sticking with Nexguard as it is easier to remember to do monthy.
  13. She's gorgeous but we need more photos of the blue girl! :)
  14. I'm so sorry to hear this news. RIP beautiful girl.
  15. I haven't seen any Viagra like symptoms (yet?) but the second night she was on it there was only a little dampness and all nice and dry every night since! I've started her on the twice a week dose now so fingers crossed that it is enough to keep her right.
  16. I'm on the South Coast and it is all over the local FB pages so hopefully people mention it to neighbouring holiday makers. A lot seem to be heading back today as well.
  17. There are quite a few websites for house sitting: Google results
  18. I've just started my senior Cav spay on this and am wondering how long before the night-time incontinence stops. The getting up in the middle of the night to let her out to pee isn't bothering me, it's the chasing around the yard of the 14 year old cattle dog that is - he wants to stay out!
  19. You'll have to wait 2-3 weeks until you see new hair growth. Minimum treatment time is 6 weeks from experience - keep up the Malaseb twice a week and Canesten cream twice daily.
  20. I think the bathing in Malaseb every day is too much as it is harsh on the skin. With ringworm it takes about 4-6 weeks to see an improvement. It may look worse as the hair shaft is damaged so already damaged bits may be falling out to make it look worse. ETA: It is the foam that has the action in it so are you making it really foamy and leaving on for 10 minutes?
