We don't have many sweepstakes in Vic and training a puppy at the show is much different to training at home. Here I see people training before the show starts, during lunch breaks and after the group is finished. I've never seen anyone be told off for it before. Wait for it !!! No really it would make it very hard if there is no s/s but we do not have Open shows in NSW either but most kennel clubs have show training and are willing to set up rings and have a mock show for all to have a go at.... But a "SPARE" ring might solve every one's problems !!!!!

Ever since I have been showing it is inconsiderate to excerise/practice in ANY ring that still has dogs to be judged in that ring.... By that I mean when the ring has broken for lunch , waiting for another group to start or will be used for General Specials......... Once ALL judging has been completed you have plenty of time to practice then...... This is what I would have thought Sweepstakes was for !!!!! OH and training at home JMO

Just got home from these shows as I was stewarding all 3 days, I did have the White Swiss in my ring to-day what alovely pair of dogs very friendly and very striking in the ring ...well done on your Jnr in Group......he looked lovely in the line up. Congrats to all the winners over the 3 days, the weather held out and a good time was had by all......... I also said hello to many dogs over the w/e I could have taken them all home..... Thank you to every one that showed it made my job a little easier with your help..... Hope to see you all at the next one's....

Hope Ganmain didn't get the rain we had here last night, storms and it pelted down for afew hours it would just slow down and then down it would come again and again...very very wet here..... I think the gumboots are the order of the day

:D Weather not looking to bad but still think the woolies would be needed With all the rain so far Parking could be tricky, a bit slippy slidey..........be careful.... Last day will be the worst after cars trailers and trucks driving all over it.....

:D An Open show is generally judged by a trainee judge it is NOT counted with points towards a Champion title at all.... Some people do not enter Opens shows due to the fact they do not get points, they have faded away over the years, most breed club will have an open show after or before a Champ show to give the trainee judges a show to judge... Hope this helps explain......

You only have to look in the journal to know where to send them and it is not up to the cataloguer to say it was still open that is up to the Show Sec's..... If they had rang and spoke to the Sec's then it might have saved them a stamp if the entries were closed........ I would like to know if any of these people spoke to the Show Sec's ???? Also were the entries posted after 16th of July ??? Then they were LATE......... I know some people around my area only get there mail 3 times a week, where we have a PO Box and collect it when we want to...... Why would anyone get bent out of shape over a show there is plenty more to go on with ;)

So are you saying the person receiving the entries has an ulterior motive? Do not forget Ceilidh these entries went to 2 different places, not everyone gets the mail on the same day..... Wonder what part of LATE these people do not understand !!! 16th of July was the closing date !!

Well said Ceilidh, people have to expect return of entries if they are late and really any time after the closing date in the journal is LATE.....

Like your weather report better BF Might check it later in the week You can never tell with this show I have been and it has been lovely showing weather, then I have also been and it was a hurricane Saturday is a Ag show so I hope you can get your pizza's......Friday & Sunday are Kennel Club shows.....

I've done that I was thinking about how fast I got a receipt back. Nothing returned here.. but I entered ages ago. There were two different addresses/show secretaries for these shows. I did this also PF, I thought they were quick of the mark to get the numbers out and the closing date was still weeks away Always double check now

I am not entered this time, but looked at the weather, Rain, Storms , Wind and freezing temps..... I have no shows untill September, hope it is warmer then, but did hear the rain is going to continue for a while.......all dams are filling up well in this area.. You had better pack your winter woolies......gum boots etc.... Heard on the grape vine ,I think the entry is nearly 400 which is usual for these shows........ Good Luck to all who are showing
