  1. Best I've heard of is someone (still competing) who trialed in agility for 10 years before achieving her first qually. That takes a certain kind of gritty determination. What it didn't take ( and never happened) was that person complaining about courses, judges and how the sport was stacked against her breed. I've heard plenty of that from people who've had more success than that person did initially. And when her dogs qually, the cheer that goes up as as much about her sportsmanship as the dog getting round without taking bars. We all gripe from time to time but some folk never seem to do anything else. ;) Funniest thing I ever heard was a friend of mine Has GSD , Shelties and a Vallhund was telling me that this Sheltie she had (ANDY) who has since passed away, went to Flyball, did 2 jumps ran away and went back to the car everytime this happened, but guess what he got his Flyball title because it was a team sport My friend enjoys all aspects of the dog world doing conformation, agility, Obedience, Tracking and Herding, also fits in a private life with her family and friends and never takes any of it to seriously........... Everybody needs balance in their lives and showing dogs is no difference, to much of any one thing makes you a very boring person. IMO!!
  2. If you are lucky enough to have a person take you under their wing, they will protect you from all those who want to win at all costs and when they don't have some very nasty comments to say......Like one person who gets on the phone rindside and yells "We got beaten by a bunch of rubbish." Now that is very pleasing for a newbie to hear don't you think ?? You do not have to be hard but maybe know who and what to ignore !!!! I find the worst people have nothing else in their lives except dog shows every w/e and winning and when this doesn't happen their unsavory personality appears, but really they have unsavory personalities all the time SAD very very SAD !!!! So have to agree with you SSM, these nasty pigs need to get a life !!!!
  3. This is not on, stupid thing to do !!!! Have you any idea on who would have done such a stupid act and put this poor girl in danger ??? Lets hope KARMA was watching.....
  4. Maybe that is something the Sec's need to look at, at most shows........
  5. Looking forwards to seeing your Shelties they look lovely in the pics.....
  6. just thought I would remind every-one these entries close later this month on the 28th, so give them some thought... It is a 3 day show and held at the very lovely Equestrian Centre, which is a fantastic venue, anyone who has attend before can tell you !!! If any-one wants the schedule just let me know and I will post it here !!! There is plenty of room and it is a great social show.....

  13. ;) Not a problem BB I know most of the dogs being shown down Victoria so just the owners name would have got me by, thanks.....
  14. Thanks for the Results everyone really great to see them... BB What Cav and what Pug if possible please !!
  15. Ceilidh is right.... ALL dogs pending or otherwise , if entering a showring MUST be on MAIN register, why would you put them on Limit then want to show ?? My advice would be register them on Main and if they didn't turn out then have them desexed .......... I am sure if the people were buying them as Show Puppies and they didn't work out then they themselves could have them desexed and you give them a refund between Pet and show price, if there is one. !! This is a agreement you will have to have with your buyers Sorry my last posting I didn't think about you putting them on Limit then wanting to Show them !!
  16. Yes what I remember of that thread it was going to be indoors.... Good Luck and enjoy the show, let us know the results if possible and I have heard the venue is outstanding !!! For all who are shows.....
  17. I have always understood it that you can enter your baby puppy with rego number "Pending" as you enter a good Month before the show and we all know you may not have your rego numbers back from the Canine Bodies by then, so IF you get it in the meantime I have always rang the Sec and advised them of the number if it has not come throught I have always been allowed to show at Baby puppy level awaiting registered numbers !! So having said that Babies are just that, Babies, they can not compete against older dogs or claim any points so there really is no harm done to anyone!!! And again I do not see a sheep station waiting at the end of the baby puppy class !!! JMHO !!!!
  18. If you were going to go to a dog event would you say Westminster or Crufts !! I have heard a lot about Westminster but never been just wonder from those who have been to both !!

  21. Yes Ladybird Janet McInerny's Baby Cairn was Baby in show she was thrilled and he was such a smart little fellow, don't take any notice of me all the 4 groups and GS are rolling into one, I think the Whippet was Minor or Puppy ?? It was a little one anyway I didn't get a catalogue and half the time I forget what day it is Next time I will get a full marked one Whippets are very popular and we did have quite a few in there, I do know that ;) Yes I think Ceilidh I am just starting for the back to ease now....... It started raining here about 11pm and I got up at 5am and water water everywhere and we have showers today so far !!! It's it great !!!!
  22. :D May take me months to get over that How about you and Micky Workhorse ???
  23. There you go Ceilidh I gave you BIS...........no wonder people like me to steward ;) Even the group was great you had a lot of competition within your breed, let alone the group !! Well done.......
