  1. I really don't see what the fuss is about ?????? Even to get a video shop card you have to provide 100 points of proof of identity / address - it happens in all walks of life & we take it for granted - why should this be any different. Though I don't see the point to be honest - if I send our membership renewal in with both my partners & I drivers licence photocopied onto the attachment how are they going to know if they are real or not. If people are doing the dodgy this won't stop them - they will just have the correct paperwork / id forms dummied up to send in. Though if it does happen then I expect all of management committe, office staff & especially the CEO to address me by name when they say hello .
  2. They don't get changed do they Last time I entered the Royal my dogs wouldn't even go near the toilet area. Gross.
  3. Use a log in system - only those who paid online fee can access - not hard to set up .
  4. A $13 entry should cover their fee & if their fee is too much then the committee should make the decision not to pay them for doing it and take up the slack as we did when I was on committee's. 10 + years of donated time etc etc etc like alot of people here I'm sure.
  5. Always for Royals, Grp Spec, Specialties & Sunbury but not always for normal shows - depends on the show. I think it would be a great thing to bring in the online catalogue - I would be happy to pay $1.00 for grp & say $2.50 for the whole catalogue online. This still gives the club income but takes out alot of the work - cataloging, printing, collating & then carting them to the shows. Think this is something that clubs should seriously think about. I did buy them every show when I first started showing but then stopped because I would make myself nearly sick with worry when I knew who else was in the same class as my girl . If I didn't know who was in the class I stopped stressing. Couldn't care less now .
  6. Just put my coat in the car so that I can perform my 'Walking Coathanger' duties for the weekend (will be needing it this weekend me thinks).
  7. Actually a friend of mine uses this on her dogs & says that its the best thing she ever used (been in dogs 40+ yrs). I tried it with ours but it made the coat too soft for our breed. Its a very natural product & it was good with their skin etc. My friends dogs coats are immaculate. Read up about whats in it (or not in it:)) - my guess is its alot better than alot of dog products.
  8. We found with our old boy last year that he got heat from the other dogs as he got older - he was dealing with several health issues. I would get an overall health check on your boy, bloods etc etc She could be stepping it up because he is getting older / underlying illness - this is natural animal behaviour to remove the weak. Not a nice thing to say I know and I don't do it to alarm you or upset you but it could be the reason she is doing this to the degree she is.
  9. Yes flame suit on! I just bought his books and DVD's and now want him to come out to Australia. I also want Myra Savant-Harris to come out Well - he was going to be doing a seminar when the Wei Club had him here to do their Specialty which was April/May this year but it never happened .
  10. Try also Dr. Carmelo L. Battaglia - http://breedingbetterdogs.com Get his 'Choosing The Best Puppy' dvd. IMHO - After doing the PH Seminar here in Melbourne I believe he has a much more thorough method of grading and selecting puppies. He also has alot of knowledge and experience in breeding, genetics etc etc his latest book 'Breeding Dogs To Win' is incredible. While the title annoys me everytime I look at it the book content is fantastic - if you are serious about learning then his books are well researched, well written and you will learn alot. I would love to do his seminars . . . & yes going to put my flame suit on now.
  11. Our breed has them removed (front) or they should !!! and not all breeds have them front & rear - not many actually. A dobe with their dew claws left on can easily rip open your leg & arteries when they bear hug you to the ground - tis why they should always be removed as they are a lethal weapon . Some breeds are required to leave them on though.
  12. Something else I can add to my resume - a walking coat hanger
  13. I would say that if the gazebo wasn't secured then they would be liable. You may never get anywhere though. Imagine if it hit a dog in the ring, or a person what then ? Also what would happen if it hit someones car / trailer ? Surely there is a health & safety issue / rule within the dog world - it saturates every other aspect of our lives.
  14. Good to see - congratulations to those clubs. There may be a cluster coming up with Neuter offered as well as I have contacted the club - will post it here as soon as I know.
  15. Unfortunately with a 1pm start I may not be able to enter - I finish work at 2.30pm and cannot finish earlier on a Friday. If dobes weren't on b4 3pm I could do it but thats not likely . Dissapointed as its a good judging panel.
  16. I know its ages away but does anyone know if the start time for the Friday Show advertised on DOL Homepage is correct ? I don't believe that Friday 12th August is a Public Holiday in Victoria and the add states a 1.00pm start. Ta .
  17. OMG - 16 Weeks !!!!!!!! @#%%^&*&^%^$$#$$%@#$%%^$(&^%*&*&%^%#&$@(&%*^%$@ Please tell them to contact their breeder for advice - thats what we are here for .
  18. I always have a radio / TV in our whelping / puppy room and the radio is on from day one - low calm music helps mum relax and create a nice peaceful den / nursery atmosphere. Once the puppies ears are open I change stations to talkback / different music and once eyes are open I have the TV / DVD on - we play movies with variety of noises but I always change it back to nice calm music for the night shift . So buy a small radio / dvd player and put a spare tv in the room - gives you something to do too if you are like me and spend the first 24 /7 sleeping next to the whelping box. Good luck with your bubbas.
  19. We did Dual Sire litter our 2nd last litter. No notification was required to state body. Litter must be DNA Profiled to certify parentage ofcourse to register. Unfortunately for us we didn't get any puppies from the 1st sire - older dog, now proven to be infertile. But I would do it again without issue. We did AI / Natural Mating. They weren't on the same day. I am not aware of any restrictions placed on the procedure at all just that sire/dam/litter must be DNA Profiled (which we do anyway). Your breed restrictions might be different though - you will need to check with your breed clubs / schemes.
  20. Go Girl Oh this is normal for my boy, came home had a play with our other dogs then curled up on the couch, he likes to take over You wouldn't even think he did 20k's today  Well done - I've always found ours are totally relaxed and happy the day after their ET - its like they get to 20 kms and start to relax . Our girl Lexi (a few years ago now) did her ET on Sat, showed on Sun for a 25pt BOB & her CH Title and then passed her Track 2 for her TD title on the Monday - best she has shown & she was beautifully relaxed on her track too. We haven't topped that with any of the others yet - thats her little record .
  21. Weather for Tullamarine Area This Weekend. Sat - Min 8c Max 14c Possible Showers 70% Chance Sun - Min 7c Max 15c Possible Showers 50% Chance - Typical Bulla - wear your gummies & bring the brolly.
