  1. Hey, it probably was us as I was at the royal and in about 6 or 7 classes Next time, come and say hi haha thanks, thats what I thought too lol
  2. Hey Kavik, both, same as last year where we got 3rd in the ADOY so hopefully a similarly awesome result this year Goodluck in your first JDX class
  3. Hey! Yeah usually he does but sometimes a bar comes down! I am amazed he made it through that tyre though!! Hi, I have actually done the susan salo work and I have the DVD, there was an article recently in clean run about early take off syndrome which clearly stated that years of research indicated that a dog with ETS cannot be retrained and attempting to do lots of jumping drills and grid work will only make things worse, I think it was a bout 3 months ago, I'm too lazy to look it up right now but I can if you really want. There are videos on my youtube channel of us doing grid work. During initial training he was my first agility dog and I never trained jumping specifically so it is possible that this is what led to this behaviour in the first place, my dogs since have had no issues. Also pepe knock one bar every few months and we have trials practically every weekend so I don't think it is an issue, I just thought it would be interesting to post this as I was amazed how early he takes off...also he only knocked one of the bars in this photo, he cleared all the others, even the tyre, without a knock! And after all agility is meant to be fun and I think pepe's crazy early take offs are part of his expression of love for agility and his need to go as fast as humanly (or should that be caninely ) possible I do not intend to change him and the way he loves to run just for some more wins (he wins most of the time anyway because he is so bloody fast lol)
  4. hehe yeah that might help lift him the extra 1cm that might prevent the bars coming down under these circumstances
  5. look how early he takes off!!!!!!!!!!! ETA: these are video stills from a trial
  6. aww thanks everyone!!1 I only just checked back on this post, love the replies, he is a happy boy!
  7. Hey all, I just made a video showing Pepe's tricks including play dead, sneeze, push ups and go to bed. What tricks do your dogs know? Do you have different versions of pepe's tricks? photos/videos please! ETA: my video program doesn't like me atm so please ignore the fact that the song keeps going with no video!
  8. thanks guys he is a brilliant boy! I am so lucky!!
  9. Thanks!!!!! he is gorgeous isn't he, I love that pic of him!!!
  10. well done kavik!! as mentioned above it varies on how long it takes but to be honest you don't have to have it back before applying for a new trial, some people (aren't "meant" to) move their dogs up a class and compete in a trial before even applying for the title!!! this is naughty but its not really an issue (unless you send in for the next title before the last one lol). But there is NO problem with moving your dog up if you have sent the title application off, even if you don't have it back yet (from my 3 years of agility experience at least). So go ahead and enter the festival, and I will see you there fingers crossed for pepe getting a place in the dog of the year this year

  12. I give my guys buster cubes (http://www.bustercube.com/), bones and frozen kongs (yes, even in winter) I think if its too cold they will just wait for it to melt before they eat it but i don't think the cold bothers them because they attack the kongs as soon as I put them in there. Someone else posted a great idea in another thread (sorry cant remember who) about freezing a rope into the kong and tying it to the washing line so at some stage when it melts it will fall down on the ground for an extra surprise! I'd like to know what I can do with my 14 week old ETT pup, he is crated while im at uni twice a week for about 3 hours in the morning and then again for 2 hours in the afternoon. I give him toys and a bone and kong but when I get back he hasn't touched the bone or kong and has just shredded his bed and fabric toys...the main worry for me is that the other day he threw up a piece of fabric from his bed and I'm worried some will get stuck in his intestines because I've experienced dogs at the vet where I work who have swallowed fabric leading to part of their intestines dying. Any idea how to encourage him to eat the bones/kong instead? When I get home he sleeps for a few hours so I don't think he sleeps at all while I'm away. I have crate trained him from the start and he is fine to stay in his crate for hours while I'm at agility trials but just not when he's left at home alone. I have thought about taking away his bed but I think it's too cold (even though he wears a coat in his crate). Ideas/suggestions would be appreciated! (sorry for partially hijacking the thread) ETA: my older boys stay in a run outside with a small shed attached, I can't put envy in there yet because I don't trust him with the others yet incase he gets stepped on etc. and he currently fits through the pen bars

  15. Hi all, With my new pup taking a bit of the limelight around my place I thought I would give a mention to my old boy pepe by posting this photo of him with some of his achievements from this past year he is the best little man I could have hoped for and has really made his mark in the agility field. He will always be my favourite (shh don't tell the others) and I think the connection between us is something I won't ever have with another dog which is sad but makes his time with me all the more special! he is 7 years old now and still going strong and hopefully has at least another few years of agility in him.
