  1. Thanks guys, we had a great time, his confidence in the ring is definitely improving! Cheryl, he is so much faster at home and I can't wait till he gets enough confidence that his real speed and drive translates to the ring! :)
  2. Hi everyone, Some friends and I are holding a private agility training session at SIEC on the 4th of June which has been fully booked out. However, we understand that some people have not had the opportunity to train at the SIEC indoor arena and that they might like the opportunity to do do. Therefore we are considering organizing another day on the 5th of June for those who would like a chance to train in the SIEC environment. We are sending out this expression of interest so that we know if it is worth organizing another day. If you are interested in attending or have any questions, please contact me on [email protected] to be added to a list of interested participants. Cost is $50pp with up to 2 dogs. Additional dogs will incur an extra fee of $10 per dog. The day will run from 8am to 4pm, consisting of 4 workstations in the morning and a full course in the afternoon which will be designed and judged by Liz White. Note: this training wil be run mock trial style and is for ground & equipment familiarisation, not for training of agility handling etc. Thanks!
  3. Hi guys! Last weekend in Newcastle I ran Envy (Yurrugar Green WithNV) my English Toy Terrier in novice gamblers and won the class across all heights with 36 opening points! Here is the video of our run for everyone to enjoy, so proud of my little man :D
  4. I would say English toy terrier, my ETT will go all day and is much fitter and more agile/nimble than my staffy x's. We go for small hikes but while going for daily walks I throw ball with a ball thrower while walking and the ETT will chase that for an hour without even panting. He also competes in agility all day without a single pant whereas the other two get tired much easier even though they do the same amount of fitness work. He is also exceptionally flexible - once he jumped the apex of an aframe in agility with too much speed, overbalanced and did 3 somersaults down the other side I expected him to be all hurt and scared but he jumped right up and kept running without looking back, finishing the course with ease. Then next time he did an aframe there was no sign of fear or caution at all. I really think an ETT would suit your situation. And they are very tough dogs for a little dog, not lap dogs unless you let them be/ask them to be.
  5. Sounds exciting and mysterious!!! hmm I wonder if a shiny new collar for envy could be part of the promotion... he is very good at promoting things lol
  6. otherwise there are these dog water bottle
  7. some people use the no tip bowls because they are pretty hard to tip over no spill bowls For a car trip I was advised by my vet to freeze a water bottle and the dogs can lick the condensation while it melts which should be more than enough for a car trip
  8. I wondered if there was going to be a thread about this episode, I normally miss the show because its on the same night as agility training but last night it was raining so I stayed in and watched, I couldn't believe all the pitt bull slandering on the show and was disgusted just like you guys about the statement that the woman's child would be safe because there was no pit bull in the puppy grrr! Also I wonder how the dog that attacked scruffy fared having his jaw opened with a screw driver, surely that would have caused some damage? Hopefully the dogs owner is smart enough to check it out and to get his dog under control so this doesn't happen again. I do have to admit though that leroy was pretty cute and I was amazed at the extent they went to to fix him considering as previously mentioned, most livestock just get shot when they break a limb. I suppose that the show would offer some form of remuneration to those ppl who are starred on the show so maybe Leroy's surgery was funded, otherwise that surgery would have cost thousands of dollars! Then again the animal farm lady seemed pretty attached to him and I believe her animals are pets rather than livestock so maybe she did pay for it. Hopefully the general public is smart enough not to listen blindly to everything chris says (although I have my doubts...)
  9. thanks for posting this, I want a collar for pepe so bad!! I have donated
  10. Hi danielle, I havent received any pics from you yet? maybe try sending them again
  11. hey everyone, thanks again for all the nice comment I have had to change the title of the video as a few people came up to me at trials asking if pepe had passed away because it said "tribute" to pepe....oops! maybe it should be "celebration of pepe" or something lol
  12. oh and personally I prefer cash, but only if its over $10, otherwise dog toys are my fav prize as I feel like i'm rewarding the dog for doing all the hard work (for me just the place/title/run is the reward!) , and you can never have 2 many toys!
  13. we have to give away prizes, its a rule unless you advertise the trial as a "ribbon trial" for fund-raising. For our combined height trials we give petrol vouchers, 20 for 1st, 25 for 2nd and 30 for 3rd, and for the seperate height trials we try to get good deals on things at rays outdoors etc. e.g. for the next trial I made club colour tug toys for 3rd, dog beds from kmart for 2nd and toys for 1st
  14. wow what a gorgeous boy!! And look at those big paws, I'm in love How are things going with the introductions at home? I have 3 boys at home, 2 desexed and Envy who is 4.5months and not yet desexed and all things have gone 100% smoothly for me, all the boys love each other! Hope things are the same for you :p keep us posted as he grows!
  15. argh why did I watch that!!! Now I feel horrible People are crazy and I don't understand them, give me a dog over a person any day
  16. thanks his ears are going through a crazy stage, makes him look so funny
  17. me and my boys today in the sun, the only pic of me and the 3 of them
  18. Hey all, I enjoyed a nice day relaxing in the sun today and wanted to share some happy snaps envy Nossi sunbaking my family
  19. min pins are much stockier and have stumpier legs, they also have small pointed faces whereas etts have a wedge shaped head. i think you have to be involved with them to see the major differences, kinda like aussies and bcs now that aussies have tails if you dont know them you would not always be able to tell them apart. you can see it if you look at the breed standard pics http://www.ankc.org.au/Breed_Details.aspx?bid=32 http://www.ankc.org.au/Breed_Details.aspx?bid=38 thats physical, otherwise, the etts have a terrier temperament, a little ferocious and not at all nervous, very outgoing, and like to hunt things, bred to kill rats. Whereas min pins are pinschers rather that terriers and from my experience they are more nervous and sensitive. I treat my ett like my staffy and he is very similar in his attitude to life. this is from my experience at least. Next time you're at a dog show go and have a look, you'll be amazed how huge the difference is!
  20. i haven't seen any rare dogs recently but I have an english toy terrier and I have been asked if he's a puppy kelpie and doberman (maybe if he was 1 day old lol) or a chihuahua! Although obviously the most common statement is - oh look a min pin! I even said to someone, no he is an english toy terrier, and they were like are you sure? I think he's a min pin.... I was like ummm he's my dog I think I would know, I can show you papers if you like hahaha
  21. visit my new website www.tugstuff.com.au I am trying to make some money because agility trial entries are so expensive!!!! I think I am spending about $100 per trial on average just on entries and I have a trial every second weekend at least! maybe I should stop entering open... although I'd rather just make money from my tuggy stuff and keep entering Thanks all!
  22. poodlefan, I would probably know you if I saw you, come say hi next time CW EW, he only likes water if there is something living in it for him to chase like ducks...or even a pelican once lol
