  1. Oh god... My partner mentioned that today when he let them out to go potter(about), Wylies front legs seemed shakey. But after he wandered about it seemed ok. I just let them out for a run about and his front legs are a little bit shakey. Apparently they were worse! Vet methinks....
  2. My boxhead peed inside today. He has once or twice marked indoors but this was just him standing around and peeing (no leg cocking) This is odd for him. I then started thinking about several recent things that I had dismissed. He has been panting a bit more, he has been drinking a bit more and he is peeing outdoors a bit more. I assumed it was because it's been hot lately and it's normal but now I'm not so sure... I forget that my lil man is actually nearly 11. Is this an old man thing? Or something more scary? I'm home for the next couple of days so I'll be watching him a bit in case it looks like vet. Right now I can't tell if it's the weather or he is under the weather?
  3. Clearly any horse called Flanders will be nicknamed Ned.... Right?
  4. Easy fix. Don't let him. I have an annoying dog. He would love to jump all over and harass other dogs. He is bouncey and a pain in the butt playful. I've tried to stop it for years and he has toned it down a bit but his behaviour was rude to other dogs so I don't let him. Simple as that. It really isn't an issue, if your dog has no manners when meeting other dogs then hold him back and don't let him jump on them.
  5. Oh... this thread reminds me that most of my pets chip addresses are out of date.. Do they ring the mobile number recorded?
  6. Sigh..... I know. This time of year the birds start to fledge and flutter about. Wylie has all the best trees staked out Sorry, off topic...
  7. Shiba? Creams in particular, which are a fault but do crop up and go to pet homes.
  8. Nothing stopping the person coming back and just taking the dog, even if you do end up buying or otherwise keeping it. After all, they know where you live....
  9. Shiba inu? If you have very good fences it could work? They are alert and intelligent and not the kind of dog that is everyone's friend... Also they can be a pain in the arse. But they can be worth it. They are a spitz breed so training can take a bit of effort...
  10. Now I keep thinking about the Fairy Wogdog from Watership down....
  11. My dogs are gannets, and will eat everything and anything.... UNLESS they know the food is a bribe. *damn spitz and the evil satanic cogs that chugg about in their heads....*
  12. Feel free to smuggle me home a couple :D
  13. Nah, cats are fine! I mean things like guinea pigs, chickens ect. Prey animals, not cats. My cats boss the dogs around :D
  14. They will give your friend grey hairs :D (and plenty of shiba hairs as well..) Mine cost $800 on limited, and the other $1000 on main, but that was over 10 years ago, I expect it's gone up now? Just a heads up, I'm sure they have done their research but shibas are not friendly to small furry or feathery critters. High prey drive with the small edible things Also, very good fences needed. One of my little sods easily climbed 6 foot fences in his more nimble days. (now he just climbs on the couch :D )
  15. Ever looked into reptiles? albino mutations are the best bucks of all
  16. I don't have that book! The one I have is smaller. The lay out is almost the same though. :D
  17. But what is this book called? The bits you showed look quite nice! and familiar.... I have a feeling I might own that book... *off to rummage*
  18. If I ever got bored with mad shibas I'd think about getting a vallhund :D (and by "bored" I mean, the temptation to strangle the little buggers gets to overwhelming  )
  19. Shikoku :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shikoku_%28dog%29 Although maybe not, I have heard they can be a bit of a handful.. Shibas are bad enough
  20. I think what I was musing was you can up grade, registerwise, but not down grade?. You can breed a limited register dog all you want but you can't register the pups. But if you have a mains dog who failed the grade, nothing is stopping you from being able to register the pups (you know, if both parents are, ect)right?
  21. *just musing here* What about the dogs sold on Main that don't quite shape up to standard when they are fully grown. Obviously they wouldn't do well being shown but the owner could still breed them because they are on Mains? I know for the betterment of the breed they shouldn't be bred but I guess there is nothing stopping people? (no contract or anything right?) Ok, odd thought for the day...
